Finally a real gastroenterologist who knows what he’s talking about. Very useful information. I was so tired of watching so called doctors on RU-vid who gives you mixed opinions and recommendations. Thanks for the video Sameer Islam MD! 🙏❤️
I gave up alcohol already. I was so terrified at first with the symptoms. But when the doctor diagnosed it's Erosive Gastritis, and told me as well that alcohol consumption making it worse, I decided right away to give it up. I stopped alcohol consumption for the sake of my health. Glory to God!
@@ColeGartner i was drinking beer and too much coffee as well. Caffeine contributes also for the development of gastritis. Minimize your coffee consumption too.
Just recovered from this I was sick in bed for like 4-5 days this is the only video I just watched and I don’t feel the need to watch another . Very informative. Thank you
GERD is my issue with small sliding HH, a cute gastritis. I’ve given up alcohol and processed foods....I’ve turned to low acidic foods! I’m very picky with food now! Thanks for your video it conforts me that there is hope for healing 🙏
Alchemi Azazel Goddess I have GERD & HH, I am told "Symtoms management treatment, No Cure" Is it true? I am also On a break from alcohol, On a Boiled Diet! I heard brocoli Helps! Any info?
Alchemi Azazel Goddess I'am too suffering from GERD. And have Antral gastritis. Doctor gave me ppi and antacids. And it's not working. I'm very new to this and I'm scared now.
Yeah indeed... Stress was the biggest contributory factor.. I am experiencing this now... Later I'll go to see a doctor for gastroscopy...thank you for your awesome vid doc.... 😍😘
thank you very much for taking the time out of your day to make this. I live in a country where the spoken language is not my mother language so most of my interactions with doctors are like "take this drug" "ok". it feels very good to actually get some viable information on the topic from an actual professional and not just from random blogs or other websites. thank you again!
Thank you Dr. Going to start making changes in my diet, Itll be hard at first but i know my diet of spicy foods, Chile, and dairy, plus stress has contribued to my gastritis and reflux. I have had an endoscopy. God Bless you and thank you for taking the time to help and advise us on how to help our stomach issues and not just depend on medications.
I just got diagnosed with gastritis too and my Dr. prescribed Pepcid. Glad to know this is not stomach ulcers and can be treated. Great video Dr. Islam! Thank you!
@@AhmedDiiriye-gm6umMy tummy was hurting really bad so I went to the doctor and got an ultrasound so that’s how I found out. I’m ok now though. Thank you for asking. ❤
Awesome info! I was recently diagnosed with this about a week ago. It does in fact appear to be stress related as the biopsy cane back negative for h pylori and I don’t drink. I’m going to try some natural remedies first.
@@zehrazaidi8145 Good night.how are you? I had to put away spicey food; take my dinner early.small portion.Avoid fatty food ; at this present time no medication.
I just got diagnosed with Gastritis..You answered alot of my questions. I am very bloated but in no pain. I am changes my diet completely. Following up with my doctor to help me get better. I so appreciate your video. Thanks 😊
I had stopped alcohol and i had stopped tobacco, really i got stress my symptoms are vomit although I smoke 3 packets daily . But after seeing your video I will lessen my smoking habits.. Thank you 🙏
Thank you! 1. No more smoked neckbones. I can get them raw and add paprika for that "smoked" flavor. 2. No more naproxen. Instead, the doctor who performed the EGD, advised me to increase my dicyclomine.
Very informative, well explained and easy to understand- Thank you! I've already ticked off a few possibilities and I'm heading down the path of having an Endoscopy procedure.

Hi Doctor-thank you for your video. I have had gastritis for at least 20 years. I do not drink or smoke so it has to be the diet. I plan to let go of processed and spicy foods and have smaller meals.
Thank you Dr for the wonderful advice, Iam a 73 year old woman a long history of this, had many hospital visits about this because when this happens it makes my heart beat really fast. I have just had two bad attacks, one it summer and one recently and lost 15 pounds so now I read and watch videos about this I have changed my whole diet, if I overeat that’s a big one for me I eat very small meals and mainly homemade soups , little fruit I take aloe aver juice and a blocker I do want too get off the blocker and keep trying I seem to be on a better hold of this but I like hearing about more treatments and suggestions so I can have a better quality of life Thank you for the great information
I’m suffering from gastritis now. I appreciate your info, very helpful. Can gastritis cause palpitations? I’ve been experiencing more than usual since I’ve been suffering from this. I know I do feel anxious because I get frustrated and upset when my symptoms occur. Please if you can speak on this! Praying for healing soon! Thank you!
Anxiety can cause your heart to race. I have been dealing with those and now gastritis. This covid has caused a lot of anxiety in people. Look for stress relievers. I listen to sleep sounds on youtube. That helps a lot.
Kitten Scott I lost 8kg in 1 month due to gastritis, I started taking supplements when things got really bad, I had bleedings and all... But when I took the right supplements it took me just a few days to fully recover! Like a miracle!
Thanks. Just got this, its quite a cycle. It makes me loose appetite but I have to eat yet I still struggle. Damn when you mention chronic, that explains.
Oh I'm so relieved to hear this! I have extreme gastritis. I was taking cayenne pepper in a mix supposed to boost the immune system and I think that's how it started. I also have a big gallstone that the surgeon wouldn't remove it even though it causes me pain. I've been eating "clean" as they say.
I'm so upset!!! I was diagnosed with this in 2011 after having my gallbladder removed due to gallstones. So i took nexium and watched what I ate and everything it was really tough but I finally got rid of it and got better. But as i got better and realized that i could eat anything again i ended up relapsing into eating wrong and now I have it all over again 😞😞😞😭😭😭 I just want to heal and get better for good i have to much going on with my body as it is. Gastritis pain is so severe it makes me feel like I can't breathe.
I think you have answered your own issue. You fixed it once before, you can do it again. I’m on the same mend and trying myself to heal my stomach. You can do it!
Hi I too had my gallbladder removed and now a year on having awful trouble with my stomach but also my bowels which are very unpleasant and all over the place. Hoping to be able to have an endoscopy soon. Needless to say I have chronic anxiety and depression as a result of this which isn’t helping my stomach.
What an awesome Doctor so much medical information so much education on gut problems and constapttion. Your my angel Doctor from heaven. I will try everything you recommend My itchy rectum is so severe it makes me cry hurts so bad. I have tried every oniment As well as remedie gone to some many doctors . Thank you so much for all your information and for caring May God Bless you in your journey as a doctor!
Thank you for this ! After years of bouts of gastritis, I had my EGD this morning and was told that I have severe hemorrhagic gastritis... which wasn’t really a surprise to me, because I feel like hell! I don’t drink alcohol at all, so that’s not the issue, but I do suffer autoimmune issues and have been taking ibuprofen for arthritic pain (not anymore!) I didn’t know about the gall bladder link (mine was removed 20 years ago ) so I guess I hit the trifecta. I eat very little, have a constant bloated tummy and pain. I’m hoping that the tests come back soon so we can start treatments if it’s h pylori... until then, I’m continuing my typical fresh diet (we garden) and have added Prilosec. I must admit, I’m having trouble sleeping tonight, knowing that my stomach lining is bleeding....rather frightening! Thanks for your informative message x I’m going to check out your other videos 🌞
Bland foods like rice fish egg well cooked vegetables soft fruits like grape papaya etc and later add chicken etc.Follow strict diet for long 6-8 month things may gradually improve bit by bit but dont just go back to eatied fried or processed foods or foods that are hard to digest like beef mutton.dont get back eating gried spicy or canned foodd if your pain lowers you may lose all the progress.and try to avoid high stress situation.
Hi could I be really personal and ask if you have had any issues with loose/ unusual bowel movements? I have both stomach and lower bowel issues going on, am horrifically stressed and anxious so of course it’s getting worse and I just feel weak and terrible the whole time. Haven’t had a endoscopy yet as I’m so anxious about that too!
@@northangel30leather6 nope, not in my case. But I can tell you that an endoscopy , while daunting, can be a really easy procedure. I’ve had a few, for various reasons. Good luck with your health!
@Andilena Miller I have heard of Milk Thistle an Fenugreek but not goldenseal or wild yam. Can you please tell us if those things are still helping and how are you doing! Thankyou in advance.
Thanks for sharing the information. I have been diagnosed with Auto Immune Gastritis and based on several discussions with my doctor, I think AIG may cause Cancer in long term. I don't smoke, do not take alcohol and I am a vegetarian with no processed food consumption. What else can I do to treat my Gastritis? Thanks!
Thank you for this info and your detailed explanation. I just got diagnosed with “ diffused mild inflammation characterized by erythema in the gastric antrum” and told to stay away from NSAIDs. Thank God it’s not cancer because I already have stage 4 follicular non-Hodgkin lymphoma. You asked what changes I would be making and, I think, I will start eating more yogurt, cutting back on sweets and chocolate, and, I love orange juice and know I need to stay away from citric, but maybe drink the low acid orange juice. Thank you again 🙏❤️
This was a great video. Lots of questions answered for me. I gave gastritis. I don’t smoke or drink alcohol. I’ve change the kinds of food I eat because of a stroke in 2020. You gave me more information than my own gastroenterologist. I have a question, can I drink wine .,I take eliquis atorvastatin and sucralfate. Thanks for the great video, best one I’ve watched.
I got diagnosed with h.pylori using a breath test in mid september, had to radically change my diet, when I was in my mid to late 20's I drank a cup of coffee in the morning, 2 energy drinks a day, drank alcohol like every other day, had a not so great diet which led to issues when I was 27, no doctors could actually figure out what was wrong with me but the main symptoms were a chest heavyness and throat tightness, anxiety, basically continued like this until it eased up about a year later. I was still drinking alcohol and eating a little healthier but not really... Anyway it's not as bad as it was even before treating h.pylori with antibiotics but I'm still not able to eat anything other than certain foods or I'll have a flare up, there's not really much pain but it just feels like my digestive system is working harder than it should or something causing me a little bit of irritation which I can feel in my throat, along with some acid reflux. I quit caffeine, alcohol, processed foods, artificial sweeteners, I mainly just eat wild caught salmon like once a week and veggies/non acidic fruits everyday.
I have antral gastritis and haven’t had success with standard treatment protocols including a complete diet change. You mentioned bile reflux in your video. How do you know if it’s bile reflux and how do you treat it? My gallbladder was removed 5 years ago. Thank You!
@@naribhabokshabong1522 i didn't cure it but i'm managing it well. I was prescribed Dexilant 60mgs and was on it for several months. I'm off now. I also cut out gluten, alcohol, caffeine, spicy foods and acidic foods. I met with a functional medical professional who put me on a few supplements. I also addressed my stress/anxiety issues which was making my symptoms worse. I walk every day, meditate, yoga and acupuncture. All seem to help a lot.
when i go to long without eating my stomach lights up like a bon fire. anyone else? it’s usually right under my breastbone just under my ribs. this is hell IT HAS BEEN OVER A YEAR ......PLEASE HELP ME I CAN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE
Ive gotten quite a bit of relief from taking a prebiotics and probiotics capsule. Also DGL which is called licorice root. Also mastic gum capsules and L glutamine. I also found I was deficient in b12 and vitamin d. So check into that also. I also am consuming a teaspoon of coconut oil in tea everyday. And I found that if I fast so at at least 12 hours and just have a non caffeinated tea with coconut oil, my stomach is healing better.

Hello Doctor. Thank you for your most informative and reassuring video. Do Proton Pump Inhibitors and H2 Blockers cause cancer or other serious complications?
Hi doctor Islam, your answer will be so appreciated in this. I treat my h pylori it has been six months now. But still have some burning sensation. Do you think it will take a while after h pylori treatment for the stomach to completely heal?
I have just been diagnosed with Gastritus. I have been on One Meal ADay but am goung to reduce ut two small meals as it is difficult to sleep. Thank you fir thus video xx
Hey Dr. i have a question, i went to a gastroenterologist and explained my symptoms, a swollen feeling or discomfort on my upper left abdomen also frequently having to use the restroom for number 1. I was a heavy drinker for 5 years and in may 2020 is when symptoms started so i quit alc. In fear for my life. I went to the ER and I was prescribed medication to reduce acid. It caused me to feel pain on my left back shoulder-blade 3/4 days in so i stopped taking it I then got sent to see a gastroenterologist asked him what i had He told me i had gastritis and that the pain on my back was from quitting alcohol And that it would take a year for me to heal and my gastritis to go away Do you think he did a good job evaluating me? I wanted him to order an endoscopy to see what was going on but he insisted id be okay and to return to him in a year if i was still getting the discomfort I still get the discomfort till this day so its more than likely i will have to go see him
Thankyou for the info.. I havnt had any information or guidance after 1 year. The pain is excruciating and the procedure didn't give me any clarity at all. Thankyou ⚘️ ⚘️.
Hi Dr Sameer, thank you so much for these informative videos, I find them very educational. I randomly suffer a burning sensation in my stomach only after eating hot food (food with hot chilli - not too hot though) or sometimes it just happens while sleeping. I have never had problems eating hot chilli food before. The feeling is very unbearable, I can't eat, walk or sleep. My stomach burns like I have swallowed a burning coal. Is this gastritis or ulcers? The local doctors can't get a proper diagnosis. Some says it's ulcers, others says it's too much acid in my stomach. I am also anemic. Based on what I just explained, what do you think I have and what might be the cause of this inflammation and how to treat it?
I have had gastritis for over 8 years, I feel pains all over my abdomen everyday. Life has been hell for me. I am tired of taking drugs because they seem not to be effective. I don't what else to do.
Try and hang in there I haven't had stomach issues as long as you have but there have been many dark mornings when I've said to myself..why me! I'm starting to learn competent medical care is critical I do know what you're dealing with..Take care!!
I might have it, it feels like i have a burp thats stuck. But when i burp that feeling goes away I want to try eating more plant/vegetarian foods and see if i can calm the symptom
Hi Doctor ... if you have gastritis and a particular food causes you irritation, does that worsen your condition or is it just a passing inconvenience?

I still feel the inflammation but this this I fell like on my left side sometimes back and not sure maybe my stomach sending wrong signals.. my next appointment for stool test is march 12.. I just have this gut feeling that I'm still not cured.. can u please tell me how u fell or go thru? Thxn

I believe this is what I have I have been dealing with this for a few months but over the last few days it's gotten so much worse. Bubbly stomach , always feeling full, sore throat, body feeling weak and fatigued, staying up later than normal, stress and depression. If any of you have any advice on what worked for you ,I'd really appreciate the advice and tips ! Thanks in advance
Some of us have this mentality of doubting if it's real or not but, I introduced today doctor salami on RU-vid for his tested and trusted herbs which I took within 21days of usage my herpes virus disappear. He is capable of healing so many diseases with his effective herbal treatment.

I was diagnosed with gastritis yesterday my stomach was messed up every time I ate I was full as heck I had a lot nausea so I went to the hospital man this sucks. I’m Mexican so nomore cookouts and smoked foods for me or tequila & beer life is gonna be hard but we can do it. Health is wealth ladies & gentlemen!!!!. But I do have a question what about marijuana can we still smoke or is it just cigarettes 🚬?
This is what I’m trying to learn also. Ive weaned myself down to when needed. Does that mean I’ll be on for life? Or will my mild gastritis heal and will it take years? It is a lot better with diet change and just a little wine now and then.
Thank you doc for the very informative video.. I had an endoscopy recently because of my stomach issues.. but my GI did not tell my why I have gastritis.. or any of the other things you said.. no h pylori.. no users nothing serious in all of my tests.. but I'm going on a month and a half.. talking medications.. change of diet.. smaller portions.. nothing seems to be working.. hopefully I can find a different GI doctor soon.. that doesn't belong to Kaiser.
I thought drinking a bottle of champagne during a celebration was no biggie. Boy was I wrong. 2 days later acute gastritis. Terrible lower stomach burning pain, indigestion, no appetite. Ugh! Going on day 4 Starting to feel better. I’m 53 lessened learned. I will never drink like that again! From now on I’ll “cheers” with a glass of water! Thanks for doing this video!
Hello Dr, I was having lots of acid reflux for almost a year and did not know I had H Pylori bacteria until the dr did gastroscopy. I finished 2 weeks course of antibiotics in july 2021. Dr told me my stomach was not fully emptying when he did the gastroscopy. Biopsy results came and i was told i had H pylori. Since the antibiotic course is finished in july dont u think the pain in my stomach and esophagus should go away by now? My stomach and chest pains like anything. I was told i have mild gastritis in esophagus. I dont smoke, no alcohol, no processed food. How do i fix this pain problem? How long it will take to heal? Not taking any spicy food either. On dexilant since July. Want to come out of it. Pl advise.

@@ananhardeo904 mine is still there and its been almost a year now. I have no relief. Doctors say they dont know what's going on. They are unable to help me.
I had covid and it left me with severe gastritis since last year december. I dont consume anything with fat grease spices etc I dont know what else to do
Same I was on PPIs for around 6 months without much help but at least I didn’t feel as bad. The problem is that I’ve been having a lot of side effects so my GI told me to to back down from it which has caused all the pain to return. Idk what to do anymore. I’m on famotidine now but it isn’t as strong but I really don’t want to return to PPIs. But the pain can be unbearable at times
I’ve eliminated 95% of things in my diet from tomato sauce or tomato based sauces, dairy, and I still have this issue. I cannot take any omeprazole due to a pre-existing condition, what else can I do? I don’t smoke and if I drink, it’s 1-2 drinks 2-3 times a year. No fried foods, no red meat and even eliminated some veggies that have caused me excruciating pain. Help please. What else can I do?
I know exactly how you feel. At one point I had gastritis very badly for a while. This might sound strange but try buying and taking slippery elm tablets: www.amazon.com/NOW-Supplements-Slippery-Powder-4-Ounce/dp/B000UE25XQ/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=slippery+elm&qid=1591314728&sr=8-6 They are very cheap and do wonders if you take two pills with a glass of water. When I had acute gastritis this was pretty much the only thing that really worked for me. Another thing that helps a lot to do if you are able is to do it is to exercise at least every other day. Exercise causes inflammation but actually makes your body better able to regulate it's own inflammation and will reduce gastritis symptoms day to day. I hope you start feeling a little better soon!
@@Gosinyanglee Not a doctor. The slippery elm tablets are just a supplement that soothes your stomach when you have symptoms. You don't need to wait to do use them and they are likely not going to be prescribed by a doctor.
