If you want NO Bullshit ranching this is the show for you... I have learned and ton From Mike and his family... Its a hard life but rewarding... Thanks Mike for all your hard work bring us great content....
Whoohoo, nice wild life!! Glad you got Erin's gate done! So much better than climbing over and walking around all the time. I wonder how many torn t shirts, and cuss words have been brought about by barbed wire gates? There are lots of them out here and it never fails. I can get the gate open, but I can't hold it against the post and get the wire over the top. And on the few times that I do, I find myself attached to the darn thing by my t shirt! I guess I married the right man, he never says anything, he just drives through and then gets out and closes the gate. Ya'll have a wonderful and blessed day!
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸Mike, it’s hard to believe you weren’t raised in this type lifestyle, you seem like you’ve been doing these type of things all your life! You make it look so easy!
I’m addicted to your channel, just found you recently ❤️ Love your channel, this is a very interesting channel. Love 💕 your Ranch and your family, great 👍🏻 job! I know nothing about Country living, this is an adventure and love your wife’s cooking & baking vlogs!
Hey Mike, I remember pushing my shoulder against the gate post to flip the hoop over the other post and caught part of my skin on my chest. Gave me a deep respect for keeping my head in the gain. Great video. Brought back memories.
I put used oil on wood posts to slow down rot. I think it works, at least the old timers say it does. I’m only 68 so I need to live another 30 years to verify this theory. :)
Because I just found your channel a couple of days ago I'm on your 24-hour thing right now very interesting you have a very interesting ranch interesting family interesting cows I'm going to keep watching keep up the good work
I am sure Erin definitely appreciate you putting that gate in for her it will definitely make it easier on her especially when that a alleyway gets cleaned out. That rolling gate has been a pain for yall for a long time now it is definitely time to get it changed out to a different style gate to make it easier on everyone because if yall get a really bad winter that good is going to be almost impossible to deal with. God bless yall and have a great week
When they open and close as they should it's great . But why does it seem they always stop working right in the middle of something your trying to do . Great idea Mike , I guess I need a gate day or two .
The, "wire gate* is what we always referred to as a "Gap" gate. They are certainly cheaper but I used to find them to be a pain in my "hiney"! I like the last big, "track": gate. It's surely a pain in the rear at times but instead of getting rid of it, I think I would raise the bottom an extra foot higher and then for fun I would try mounting a automatic remote control motor to open and close it. I have made very powerful winches out of old starter motors and a fly wheel. Enjoyed the video today. Keep Em Coming.
Hi Mike good video 👍🏻 Be better if it was raining ! On your big sliding gate /door you need to lube your wheels that run in the track , I can tell just by you pushing on the door they are sticky , and when I say sticky it’s the center of the roller that turns on the shaft not the wheel that’s touching the track unless you have bird nest or lots of dirt built up in the track. I couldn’t tell from the video if your door is touching the ground anywhere but if so you have adjustments on your rollers . They are the long angled bolts sticking out the front side at the top of the door . Just tighten the nut and it will raise the door. I think If the track isn’t full of dirt and the door is not touching the ground and you lube up your rollers your oldest daughter could open the door without much problem. I know how much of a pain they can be when they are not lubed up . I grew up on a farm that I just counted had 12 doors on tracks like that . We lubed them up once or twice a year to keep them rolling easy .
Really enjoyed the video today, you and Erin work so very hard. Just really the two of you all running such a huge ranch like you do. I don’t know how, but you all get it done. Looking forward to see what the next project OSS going to be. Jane you all gotten anymore rain lately?
Having grown up in the sixties and seventies on a ranch in New Mexico with thousands of cattle we had all open gates open fence gates easy to open and close but like you said they get tangled up there now and then but even as a kid I could do it great video thanks for sharing the gates with us God bless you and the whole family
Ya forget about the Texas gate. Ya don’t have to open them nor do ya need to close it but it still keeps the cattle in/out of areas. Nice garden and enjoy the pumpkin pie when finished
We have a lot of the same gates the slam gate & the other one with the chain..but the ones you call wire gates wi grew up calling them just Gap's its what i was told as a kid so thats what i know them by !Cool video..
We didn't have those fancy gates on our place.. closest we had was Sucker Rod gates that our shop foreman welded up after the slab board gates fell apart.. lotsa #9 wire for "latches"..
The first driver you selected, Meredith, looked like a nut driver. I love your tennis at 8. You keep it up the boys will teach you all about their tools.
Lmbo i hated gate day there always different. but are as important as the fence post for sure. And FYI when you're beautiful wife said..it should look like a gate lol . You couldn't stop her from you. No gate no fence will stop her from you. Beautiful woman 👍take pride.
Could you have made a horizontal channels in the post for the latches in open the position and and holes in those channels for closed position. Then the gate could go both ways? This is a sincere question. I am not giving unwanted advice. I just wonder if channels would work.
That’s what I have. Funny story. My father on law had Milwaukee tools so I bought desalt so we didn’t mix them up. But I’m guessing you are implying that we are getting paid to use them. Which I am not.
You know I'm a big fan of cowboy hats yeah and you look excellent in your hot excellent but I think you need a baseball Cap andA GoPro just a thought love your Videos absolutely love him a lovely homing what can I say
