After upgrading my speakers, I decided I needed a cart to help me transport my gear. For the past 10 years I have been lugging my gear to DJ gigs and events without any assistance. Instead of relying on hotel carts, borrowing maintenance dollies, or taking multiple trips... I finally decided to buy a utility cart to help transport my gear. There are lots of options... and I wanted to find the best utility cart for musicians and DJs, so I chose the Gator Frameworks Utility Cart 52" All Terrain. In this review you'll get a quick overview, some of the features that I like, and an example of the gear that I use with it.

i was looking forward to how it extends; and the movement and weight of the unit with all of your gear on it...because i have a lot of gear and would like to see how it moves or if it sags with a lot of gear on it

I think it's worth the investment especially if it gives you ease to transport equipment. Being in the NYC area, I'm looking into something like this for myself. The tires being big, I know it will take the terrain of the city. I just hope they can hold (2) QSC K12.2 and (2) QSC KS112 Subwoofers

These wheels are great. I haven't had any issues with them going over curbs, gravel, door steps, elevators, etc. The cart moves pretty smooth, too. Definitely check the weight dimensions for this thing to make sure it will support your gear. It holds up well with my 2x EV50 subs, DJ controller, and equipment crate.

I'm having a hard time extending this.

Sorry to hear that. I haven't extended the item myself yet. Next time I bust it out I'll see if I figure out the extension feature.

you didn't show the extendable part.. It'd have been nice to see it extending it up to 52''.

Great point. I didn't extend it because it's not a feature that I need to use. The EV 50 speakers, fold-able table and controller fit perfectly as is. If I ever use the expendable feature, I'll be sure to post a review about. Thanks for the feedback on this video!

Great Carts! I have been using the original rock and roll carts all terrain and the MAX. The are a bit more expensive but seem to be studier than Gator. Gator must have borrowed the design. I think R&R has the patent. Either way this type of cart lasts forever. I use them for hauling heavy items at a job and for drums and large amps etc.
@marc8vino

The tires on the R&R are not hard plastic they are a solid type of rubber.

The cart I have is still holding up well. I’ve had to replace a few nuts here and there but I expect that from a lot of folding, unfolding, and movement between gigs. It’s getting plenty of use!

I like the handle release on this. Pulling the cable thing on a R&R is a pain.

What's the length width and height ? Do the front or rear wheels swivel ? What's the load compacity ?

Greetings from Austin, neighbor. Question for you: I'm in the market to replace my current cart for my drums. Since you mentioned the On Stage and Rock n' Roller carts, I assume you looked into those as well. What made you go with the Gator? And a quick follow up: how are the handles holding up? I've seen a few videos where people say the handles on the On Stage cart don't sway or move at all....as in they don't have any play. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this cart.

I did look at the other options, but ultimately went with the Gator for the durability and larger wheel option. I haven’t had issues with the handles. Only problem Inexperiences was a few nuts fell out which probably came loose from raising and lowering handles. Bolts were easy to replace. This cart has been very reliable for me!

Is the music you play At your Gigs playing on the video ?
@DJUnprotected

No, I created the background music just for videos. I tend to play more tech house music with vocals at my gigs.

My worry is about the tires. What if I happen to run over some broken glass shards or sharp sticks/whatever might be on a city sidewalk. Are those tires gonna go flat and if so where would I get new ones and who would install them? A bike shop?
@treyplemons6478
@treyplemons6478 2 года назад
The tires are non-pneumatic, according to their website, so they shouldn't go flat.

They’re a hard plastic. There’s no air. Curbs, rocks, grass, concrete… none have negative impacted the wheels on my cart. The terrain option is the way to go, IMO.
