Yall, i gotta be honest, i feel like this team is playing so hard recently because they feel how hot Billy's seat truly is and they dont wanna lose him for whatever reason..... i dont care, if he can keep our boys in blue and Orange playing THIS hard, then lets keep Billy
Loved McClains pick 6, but the pd in the end zone was actually more impressive. Full speed running with receiver, got head turned around, spotted the ball and knocked it down. That was nfl quality cb'ing.
@@waynemurray2805 This is not the UK of yesteryear. This UK lost to UGA by a point; they just beat Ole Miss and got whooped by us! Like him or not, Napier is getting this team better and better each week. Progress!
This was a complete victory. The deep ball throws from Lagway were insane, the defense has been lights out, and Jadan Baugh is the best running back on this team. Sorry Montrell For once, we played a second half that complemented the first half.
Baugh is awesome but that was the O line last night. Someone plugged the light in and the bulb lit up. And that was a very good defense they were pushing around last night.
Exactly! I saw that special teams rando trying to chomp at our fans. They were down like 2 scores if I remember right 🤦♂️ He probably bragged about it in the locker room. Totally tone deaf to the fact that they just lost by 4 TDs…
I am too!! Unfortunately when Montrell Johnson comes back he'll probably go back to getting at least 80% of the snaps at RB, which is unfortunate because what we saw against Kentucky is our recipe for success on the football field
Awesome job last night! Baugh ran hard and line blocking was good!!! This is showing progress! Defense has been playing solid since the first bye week! Loved watching them play together and GROW!!! Go Gators 🐊🐊🐊
It’s nice to read these comments praising the team and Billy. Sadly there are still those who trash Billy and want him gone. Give the man another year 👍🏼
He's not proven anything but potential mediocrity. Beer goggles are off and bn has a crap ton of failure to navigate to rebuild trust. Beating tn ky uscar tamu Miami is THE EXPECTATION and bn has been atrocious ron zook was fired for less. Bn was adequate but his play calling lost the tn game barely 8 days ago also Indiana is 7-0 in football with 1st yr coach billy hasn't won 7 games a season since he's been here
Were you not ENTERTAINED?? Fans were barkin’ for Napier’s job to be terminated. Show the fans progress. What ever was said or done during first bye week, it is working. Players haven’t quit, in fact they are playing harder. Enjoy this win, the free weekend and look forward to the opportunity to upset the mighty pups in two weeks…
As much as fans keep trying to fire Napier, these kids keep fighting for him and this staff! You can’t fake that at all! They’re playing harder at every level and it shows!!! Go 🐊🐊🐊
Thats the most fun I've had watching Florida football in a long time, we definitely have some talented young players. 37 YPC is pretty wild. I wont read too much into this game, but we do have a pulse.
Seems like we may be better than we realize. Giving how Kentucky played against the other elite teams and how we played them, makes it seem like we have a chance in every game coming up. Even GA and Texas.
Since the brake I've noticed a number of improvements: #1 The DL is playing a bit lower and taking gaps ("gap integrity") which allows the down linemen and LB's to make plays. #2 Gang tackling and pursuit angles are much better. #3 DL pass rush and blitzes are pressuring the QB's thus allowing the DB's to make plays and create turnovers. #4 Lagway is a dual threat which enables the coaching staff to design running plays for him as well as deep throws. OL effort can't be overlooked...I'm seeing a leg drive therefore getting a lot of push (5 rushing TD's by Baugh). This may be the best receiving group in the SEC. The bottom line is...there is some real COACHING going on!
It was two teams at about the same level, but both their seasons are moving very quickly in opposite directions. Napier may be around longer than Stoops now.
If our defense would have started the season out like they have been these last 3 weeks we would probably have a top 10 defense in every statistical category! It’s so awesome/fun to watch a Gators defense that plays like we all expect a gators defense to play! If we keep playing defense like this we should easily become a top 25 defense in the country even after starting the first 3-4 weeks off terrible on that side of the ball, that will say a lot about the effort and fight in these young men on the defense! Go Gators 🐊🐊
First time in a looooooong time I'm starting to have some faith in Gator football! The last three games the defense has shown up and showed out! The only negative during last nights match was the last 1:30 minutes of the first half. Not sure why Napier tends to sit on the ball with enough time to score. Other than that we looked awesome! Take away the kickoff return we held them to 13 points!
Someone else said he doesn't have that "put your foot on their neck and rip their heads off" mentality that SOS and Urban have. It may be true now, but that's a learned behavior and Napier's smart enough to analyze and make the change.
They should be 5-2. No reason why this team can't pull an upset against either texas, LSU, or Ole Miss. I would like to see how progressed they are by the Ole Miss game. Team is getting tougher every week.
I’m with you Ally, I hesitate to get to high on the momentum, but it’s hard to not get excited, there’s not a team in the SEC that’s unbeatable this year, I know beating GA is a stretch but If we play like we did against Kentucky, I think we stand a chance or at least be in the game
I thought this was a complete game from this team, and everyone who was involved deserves a hand. Just really excited about the next part of the season, tough? Of course it is but I believe they will show up in every single game. Great team effort! Go Gators 🐊!!
I think there might be a clue in the fact that the freshmen are starting to take leadership of the team. Attitudes can be incredibly difficult to change, and when the best players leave the guys left are the ones with the hardest attitudes. These young guys have only ever been in a system that values discipline and focus and is, by nature, conservative. They get it and think of the team as a unit, not a handful of stars. Etienne was the perfect example. No doubt he is an incredible talent, but he was not willing to be #2 and can’t be successful unless every player surrounding him is a 5* athlete. Baugh talked about how his family instilled his values and how Florida gave him the best place to continue that and that fit in with his family. The press conference was so informative - every player talks about the team, what the team did to make the plays work. I think that’s why Florida owes Graham Mertz a huge debt of gratitude. That guy exudes that mindset and has been an incredible leader for the young guys and I think that’s starting to come through. Not a popular opinion, but I don’t think Napier was ever the problem, he just wasn’t the quick fix and turnaround that fans were hoping for.
after the kentucky game win? why because he beat kentucky? is that not a condition of the contract anymore? Its good to be happy, its not good to be delusional, we're also supposed to beat vanderbilt as well.. every year.. period..
It was a good coming out game for badger and baugh. Defense was solid yet again. Hopeful this team keeps it up. Starting to finally show some fire. Go Gators.
This team is ascending and love to see it when they could have given up after A&M like the rest of the world. Not sure what the future holds but I’ll soak this win up in the present 🤙
They could have beaten anybody last night. The Gators have the talent and the drive. Gators played Tenessee better than Alabama, who beat Georgia, who beat #1 Texas. Florida is the #1 Team now! 🎉
This was the first game in a long time that was FUN to watch! We have a tough stretch coming up, but this was a HUGE win that will carry us into November! Im here for it. Let's Go
Great win. Encouraging win. But I don't understand what happened over the first bye week that resulted in Florida's defense playing so much better than in the first part of the season. What did the coaches or players do? They are like a different squad. Impressive.
Great total team win...seems like there are a couple of young 5-star players that took the "Next man up" cliche to heart. Kentucky was dominated. Sure would be nice to get back to a bowl game this year. Tough road ahead, but all teams scheduled are beatable...if Florida can repeat this success across all three phases of play. Two weeks ago, I would not have thought that was possible under this floundering regime. Go Gators!
Georgia fan here but you came across my google feed. Good breakdown and enthusiasm. If Georgia has 3 interceptions against Florida we could be in trouble.
Well done Ali! Cormani great versus the pass. At only 175 pounds tackling is his issue which takes time. The OL blocked well for Baugh against UK. UGA will be tougher to block against.
I kept waiting for Napier to lose the game and he almost did by wasting 1:30 at the end of the 1st half but the players proved better than that. I always thought the signs of a successful rebuild would show up during game 1 of a season but could it be the rebuild results are cumulative and we end up being one of those teams that by the end of the year, no one wants to play? Much better than being penciled in as an automagical win for most teams. Keep on playing like this, even when losing a game, and the Gators have a bright future. In fact, I think we have a chance in every game left in the season. All of those top teams are flawed and can be beat. Also, with results like last night, if we can keep it going, Napier will see 2025.
@@braddougan1919 what is your answer then?? the whole program was a mess, when he got there. from the facility all the way to the A director. what we don't need is to keep getting the coaches we have had since Uban. they have all been failures. i think maybe the problem is way deeper then Napier. you just said. we have the talent. who recruited that talent?? i believe it was Napier. correct me if i am wrong. i surely understand your frustration though
Ali, I believe our Gators have found it... Now I am a heavy critic of Napiers play calling, but he is improving. His weakness is those clutch moments than mean everything to Gators and Gator Nation! If he can suck up his ego just a bit and see he needs to be a Gator! Not a Cajun FFS! Now those Gators Ali are on the cusp of knowing who they truly are. Its exciting to see! Cormani is going to be Elite and whose moment came to fruition last night. So proud of that young man. I can't believe I am saying this, but maybe we need to give Mapier a chance this year. Let's not harp on him every game. Let this year play out. I believe 🙏 In the Florida Gators Ali and the Coach as well. I just hope Napier sheds that Rajun Cajun skin and grows into the most Rowdy of Reptiles in Gville.
This is how I grew up seeing UF beat UK routinely! Even in the Hal Mumme years with his & Spurriers offenses having shootouts but UF still won by 3 or 4 tds. I still remember the year that Hal Mumme kept pointing at the score board because his offense out did Spurriers by a few yards. He didn't seem to care that he lost again. Just that his offense put up more yards than Spurriers that year. Petty!😂😂
I could tell based on the Tennessee game that we would blow out Kentucky in the Swamp. I just didn't talk about it because I didn't want to cope with all the "nah bruh" Napier is actually continuing to make adjustments and seems strangely less stubborn than what we've accused him of.
Keep flying around and smash on D. The offense will continue to improve. More wins to come and a major bowl game. Go 🐊 . If not for a certain someone, we’d easily be 6-1. 13-6 and then the goal line stand. Followed by a TD drive broke the spirit of the Cats. Nice to feel like the Gators will be who we expect them to be. The Cormani celebration was a beautiful thing.
Well .... the line wasn't ever the problem like I said. Mertz had no pocket awareness. Kentucky defense is better than Miami. DJ IS THE PURE GOSPEL!!!!!
Easily could have been 60 points. Lots of missed opportunities. Great job Billy getting our team prepared and DJ ready. Long way to go, but already taking strides. Go Gators!
Ali, good news for the gator football program. Being a FSU fan I think the gator team will kill the NOLES as our program is the worst prepared and worst coached team in college football. Congratulations gator fans in beating UK.
The Florida-FSU game used to be something special, not just here, but across the country. Now, it's not much more than Illinois-Northwestern. Too bad -- both programs have a long way to go to get back there.
Billy just needs better play calling n i feel like we could be a top tier team again. He showed improvement on calls. The team showed up n showed out. We have the talent. Just put the pieces together n run it. We are getting better over time. Let’s see what this bye does to improve on ga game. N go from there. Go gators 🐊
Something has definitely changed with the defense. They’re playing like you hoped they would. If only they could have pulled out the Tn game. How much difference that W would have made. But looking forward because that one is over.
For the first time in probably 4 years, Florida became Florida again. Call me crazy, but I think we can beat LSU, Ole Miss, and Florida State to get to 7-5. Maybe we snatch Texas and go 8-4?
I really think the gators can reach 6 wins this season. They'll have to steal one against a ranked team but we saw them be competitive against Tennessee. Go Gators!
Been saying this all along, anyone with impartial eyes can see Baugh and Jackson are the better backs. Webb is actually better than Montrell too. As usual with the Gators, it takes injury to a starter for a coach to play the guys who should be playing. Franks👉🏼Trask Mertz👉🏼Lagway Johnson👉🏼Baugh Marshall👉🏼McClain (JM was having a good year finally though) Now sub McCray for Searcy at DE to pair him with Pyburn and sit back and watch. My boy from Lanett, AL Bridges has shown up and shown out at Safety over Castelle. Give him his props!💪🏼
The play calls haven't changed and we blew up. I hope these players keep playing for their coaches job like his life depends on it if this is the result. I don't have a lot of complaints Outside of the 1:30 left on the board before halftime with Billy conservative nature of doom. UK gets the ball back and you don't know if you have a second half team coming out. It's night and day from Miami. I kind of want a rematch with TAM and Miami with this team right now. Need middle of the field to be covered better by the safeties and LB on high low plays. If you look at the tape the conversation between the UK returner and the UF kicker is why that return even happened. Returner was daring him to give him a returnable ball.
Good win! Congratulations Gators! Saw some improvement. However, let’s not forget this was a UK team with 3 loses. UK’s defense has been a bit overrated. Let’s pump the brakes a bit on the Gators “right the ship” after 1 win vs UK. Let’s see what happens when the Gators play UGA, TX, LSU and OLE Miss. I really don’t see another winnable game until FSU.
Kentucky defense is overrated but yet they shut down Georgia and loss by 1 and they shut down ole miss and lane kiffins offense. A guy who some fans want as coach. Gtfoh with this bs
This offense was always there it just was not being run based on the QB situation. I take nothing from mertz he is a good QB and does what he can do. But like I been saying Billy offense is different when you got a true dual threat. With AR we saw what it like with a running QB who can make some deep shots. Then mertz comes and it becomes more passing but less of a threat. You could see mertz even last yr started trying to be a little more tough by running it to help open up the offense but physically he limited even with deep ball. But DJ brings both running and passing while he does need to work on more of the short game Incase defense take away deep ball but his effect is being felt. If you watch Kentucky defense after the first few plays they started playing slow because they had to think now. They can't just attack because he can throw it or slip out but also can't just sit back because he might take off or hit them with accurate deep balls. I feel Billy and co offensive coordinator said look DJ we will do more what your good at spread then out use our speed pick them apart. Defense is looking better now that all the new coaches are in sync with what they got player wise. Now I'm waiting to see how we look vs the puppies. Because now they are starting to run it more and be balance so I'm excited to see if we took that true step. As far as our offense if we can keep them spread out we got a chance
What did we tell all of you Gators pundits? Ya'll jumped the gun with toxicity against Billy Napier just because they got beat by 1 unbeaten and 2 1-loss teams. Turns out Billy knows what he's doing. Hopefully, this teaches all the so called "Gator" fans. I hope we can all stop eating crow, and get onto gator chomping. Please stop all the overreactions and tantrums, and be more supportive of the program. Give Billy credit.
They proved stoops now, takes the worst coach title. Second from the bottom is Billy bob All this does is prolong the inevitable holding onto a terrible coach at Florida with no hope of success little battles yes but that’s it
