Obviously, my 1st time in THIS area freaked me the "F" out........ ..that background.... please tell me what ever that was, Was just like............ smoke or something?!
This is such a creative realm they made. I love how it is completely removed from the medieval fantasy setting with modern things like haunted house and clowns coming into it. A game like this will never be made again. I hope they remaster this some day, because I still play this with my friends on splitscreen. Still holds up. We got bored of the newer gauntlet game that came out. It didnt have many unqiue worlds or charscters to play as.
Uuugh, this song got so old for me. When you're level 90 and not even the bosses feel like they're doing anything for ya, you gotta take advantage of some mundane grinding. Everything else was done in the game. The Runestones were gathered, the final boss killed, nothing left but to hit Level 99. This is one of the few levels where I knew there was an Experience Death and an Anti-Death all in the same level. So I just went through it over and over again until I had those last few levels. It's been years. But I'm sure I could still run through that level with my eyes closed.
no no...there is a "black death" in one of the.........hmm whats that level called, That Dungeon Level ..... and it's 1 of the shortest levels in the game. ((Dungeon of Torment))
Haha.. when Gauntlet stopped feeling like Gauntlet. Basically, this stage is about the parts and functions of a human body, not much else to talk about here. I just saw the monsters, Deaths, Generals and Lion Gargoyles (the last two enemies are for the PS2 players) as various types of cancer. =p

First time I played this level, made the mistake of running straight for the tongue. Yep. Definitely quit and restart. Finally reached level 99 and Death gonna steal my glory? Hell no haha
DJ AD with that wierd anatomy and enemies spawning I'd hope not. Dude would need some serious magic for that. Obviously just a weird area made of metal, flesh and other gore.
I never understood what those long light brown pole things in the area where the music starts at 6:50. Were they supposed to be blood veins or intestines or something....?
The premises of the whole level was that you, in the world of dreams taken over by the antagonist's demons, are literally systematically murdering everyone's nightmares and worst fears. That's why there's a lot of stuff in the level that's inherently scary- You're destroying the beings that infect everyone's minds so people can dream in piece. That's also reflected in the level design combined in the music, as you go further in the music gets heavier and more badass as the level itself gets scarier and grosser.
@@fusrosandvich3738 This is further reflected at the end of the level; you're on an elevator, heading into a much prettier picture, as if you had completely vanquished the horrible nightmares everyone is suffering through.
Idk, I've always seen the levels as systematic progressions. With the Dream world you start out in the carnival, meant to be a happy place of fun for the whole family, only now it's been overrun by skorne's demons.you make your way to the gates of the grounds, a cemetary made in tribute to past fallen heroes. Next, you enter an abandoned house, most decidedly NOT a happy fun experience. Proceeding through the house, you find yourself at the edge of a realm where the nightmares of the denizens of the world are made reality. By prevailing through the hellish experience, you emerge in the maze of illusion, located at the penultimate layer of the dream, characterized by it's surreal landscape and defiance of physics. At the end of the maze lies the edge of consciousness, a primordial void that may or may not be older than time itself. The shadow wraith has made its home here, sending monsters pouring out to infect the rest of the world.
