My Dad saw him bowl during the Bombay test in 1979 and said he was tall and thin and generated deadly pace and swing. He never realised his immense potential and faded away.

Sikandar Bhakt was a good cricket player. I had in fact not heard of him for years. I remember him very well but it is true in fast bowing it was Imran Khan and Sarfaraz Nawaz and Sikander Bhakt was the extra fast bowler. But watching him today on this interview is awesome. He looks like a very genuine person and a dignified personality.

A spirited bowler indeed, who had to play second fiddle to Imraan Khan and Serfraaz Navaaz most of his career. However even when he did play as an attack bowler, he didn't make too much of an impression. His Test bowling average of 36 is certainly below par. In his last 4 years he could manage only 10 wickets at an average of 78 runs per wicket. Ehteshamuddin, for instance, had a Test average of 23 and a first-class bowling average of 20 (to Sikander's 25). Among the "regular" Pakistan bowlers of his era (Imraan, Serfraaz, Abdul Qaadir and Iqbaal Qaasim), Sikander has the worst Test record.

Oh come on! Sikander's best Test rubber was the one in India (1979-80). Apart from that he took 43 wickets in 21 games at an average of 41! He was only good as a third seamer when the team had both Imraan and Serfraaz in it.

Does thumbnail suit this ? He is a player with 50 odd test and odi matches together with less than 200 runs in them at a 6 or 7 average and 100 wickets together with a 26 or 30 average . There are many players who are sensational in one match as they are new and they fade out immediately

Sikandar didn't utilize his considerable pace properly. His problem was his weak physique and limited stamina. Otherwise he could have easily ended up with over 100 test wickets. Talent was not the issue here. There's no doubt that he bowled splendidly in the Dehli test. Ehtishamuddin was badly missed in that test.

Sikander Bhai spoke about 100 wickets. His stats are: 26 matches 67 wickets AVG of 36. Shaheen has played 27 matches so far and taken 105 wickets with an AVG of 26. It is sad but feels like Sikander was a mediocre bowler even in his time. Whatever he says about Lahore mafia Imran khan etc is more to deflect from his mediocrity.

Very very poor and supported umpiring Pakistan team had faced and lost the serious and Asif Iqbal .
