Gotta say guys I’ve watched tons of your reactions and this for me is your best! If you wanna carry on down the Chris Rea rabbit hole then I’d highly recommend Looking for a Rainbow. It just puts me in a trance I can't do anything but smile. After I finish this comment, I'm gonna listen to it several, several times. He's one helluva guitar player. Man I really loved this morphine to my soul. May God continue to bless and protect your beautiful family!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍

I always get "film noire" images when I listen to Chris Rea. Dark, rainy city street with a cigarette butt floating down the gutter. Taste of cheap whiskey at the back of my throat. Now that you've heard Chris Rea, it's time for you to check out Leonard Cohen, the original composer of "Hallelujah". Listen to "Berlin", "Bird On a Wire", or "Dance Me To the End of Love" are great places to start this deep rabbit-hole.

My favourite Chris Rea album is "Dancing With Strangers" - every track is top notch (no filler unlike most of his studio albums) and even the deluxe edition released a while back had some pretty good bonus tracks. Chris Rea's slide guitar playing is the real star here - you might want to check out the sequel to this as well, predictably titled "The Road To Hell Pt. 2".

A huge ecological message, the terrible things money can do to the Planet, for 86. One of my siblings, truck driver, brought this tape to home because he wanted me to tell him the story in the lyrics; we are from Spain. He said "now I liked even more". Another ones to check could be : - On The Beach: It was such a hit in the times of Café del Mar (the sunsets in Ibiza) and those chillout musics (for the dawns after the party). - Driving Home For Christmas (nice even if you don't like Xmas) - Fool If You Think It's Over (sooooooo nice) - Josephine (another good one)

Chris was inspired to write this whilst stuck in a traffic jam one morning on the M25 (for Americans, this is the motorway that circles Greater London). He was watching all the other people in the jam realising they were all on their way to work, probably in London. It really was a journey to hell, but the money was good and hence gave people a better materialistic lifestyle. I know this because I lived that life. I have a comfortable life now I’m retired but I sometimes look back and wonder if the time I missed with my family working 18 hours every day was actually worth it. Do yourselves a favour and try to listen to Tell me there’s a Heaven, but I warn you it will bring you to tears. For those who don’t know Chris has been in poor health for a number of years now and has miraculously survived many illnesses that would have finished off most of us…..
