Your slide "Myriad Opportunities to Act Out" is missing two points that are peculiar to gay sex addicts: 1) a lower moral threshold - many of us flee our religions and feel that free love is a gay right and 2) there are many public spaces like adult video stores and restrooms that make for easy hookups. Thankfully my sex addiction days are over, but now starts the drinking... and over-sharing on RU-vid 🙄
@Chad Collins: take a seat. I doubt you have the licensing or experience to identify what an addiction even looks like. Every human on this planet seeks out a way to cope with the pain and suffering that comes with life, families, community, society, etc. Some resort to unhealthy habits like an excessive amount of sexual partners to feel a connection, a false sense of love, or even to numb pain. Instead of being dismissive to this population, I think this community needs acceptance, understanding, and support. But what do I know, I'm only a therapist...
