Spoilers: It wasn't him, it was his father. He tried to make an excuse that he thought the guy was assaulting his son but it's revealed later he knew they were lovers and he hated the idea that his son was gay so he killed his boyfriend.

Extra: the son belives that his father don't know he's gay but the mom of a Childgood exgirlfriend (fake relationship) tells the father and when the boy finds out, he betrays his father and says that he (the dad) kills his boyfriend. In the end, Oliva gives him some words of comfort and the boy goes off to try to figure out what to do with his life.

The Golden Rule states that we should treat others how we wish to be treated. It was changed to condemn homosexuality,which was never mentioned as a sin in the bible. As a matter of fact,Germany was the last to keep to the original translation until pressure from the Catholic Church made them change it in 1985.

It really isn't - most homophobes are straight who have inherited bigoted ideas from their family/culture - it's a bit like saying most racists are Black. Internalised homophobia is very real however and is a product of heteronormative narratives being shoved down everyone's throats from birth. Thankfully the increased LGBT representation in media and more people being out has challenged preconceived notions of what it is to be gay.

@@emilfrederiksen.1622 I have read both books and only in the old was it frowned upon because it detracted from increasing the population and in the new,not was Paul or Saul who was against the Roman orgy practices. Regardless, you can condemn homosexuality all you want but it is God who judges and no matter what, murder is also a more grievous sin and nobody has the right to take another's life. It's amazing how "Christians" use scripture to justify acting as God's hand of judgement and forget that for an unbeliever there is no mandate to act from God. It says to turn away from sin, it doesn't say that you have a divine right to pass judgement on another. Judge not, lest you be judged. Get off your soapbox and preach in church. There are many practices that the various denominations have differences with and consider it sinful. Those without sin may cast the first stone, ever wonder why Jesus who was without sin didn't cast the first stone?

The Hypocritic Pastor is clearly based on the Westborro Baptist church's very own long passed "Fred Phelps" quite an interesting read if you like researching all religious extremists, this cultist family in particular lived in a fenced-in "community" while his daughter still has the nerve to Practice Civil Law as well. I'm surprised that no one in the comments seems to know that the gay-hating church was based on the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas, and the old preacher on its pastor, Fred Phelps. The actor even looked like him. Phelps allegedly had a change of heart in 2013, was excommunicated by his church, and died in 2014.

Considering English is not an old language at all, it probably has been through hundreds of translations if not thousands over the last 2000 years. Some of those times being even orally and scribed into text. Makes total sense that the Bible isnt word for word of what some Godly figure or Holy Spirit is morally guided by.

I remember watching this episode the first time. The reverend infuriated me, but wisdom with age (or maybe it's just apathy) people like him, it just saddens me to see someone poison themselves willingly. Anyone who pays attention to scripture would know that the prime takeaway from those stories is love. Love yourself and give others the same love you wish to receive.
