Really, the only thing I'm super disappointed about is how they ruined Rockwell :( Instead of making him a kindly old scientist slowly being corrected by Element, they just make him a flat out coward and villain from the start. Now they won't be able to implement his finale on Genesis and make it impactful.
It seems like theyre gonna try and backtrack from the character theyve shown us, as Jeremy (shows co-creator) has explained his character arc in the show is "reversed". There might be some parallels between his daughter "Charlotte" and Helena which might make him redeem himself for a bit...? Or so i hope, i really miss Helena and Rockwells friendship in the explorer notes :(

I can write a better beginning in two minutes. Helena is a "hands on" biologist. She is on a ship investigating a possible prehistoric discovery of a deep sea fish. At sea, the ship encounter a terrible storm and gets hit by a rogue wave, sinking it. Helena (believing she survived) wakes up on this beach and discovers a dodo.... her story continues as the EXPLORER NOTES describes it. No DEI required for a great story.

@@argentin2306 Even on the thickest skinned of animals, you only needs to go 20-25% of the way through the torso to start hitting important things. That Parasaur was about the size of a mid sized horse, so assuming a chest width of about 20-24 inches or about two-ish feet, you'd only need to go 5ish inches in to start hitting the lungs. Your typical Arrow is usually a few inches longer than the length of your arm which is typically around 28-30 inches long, so assume 30-32 inches for an arrow. The Arrow in the Parasaur appears to be about 25-30% of the way into the animal so anywhere from 7ish -11ish inches, that's enough to puncture the lungs, up to potentially more than double the needed length and well into the range of potentially grazing the heart. So yes, that was lethal. Maybe not immediately if all it did was puncture a lung but that is absolutely a kill shot.

I've been looking for anything on how to remove sharp objects, or any object in the event of an emergency. Yet official medical advice is, "Call 911". Yes, I know, I must call 911 if I ever had something jammed into me. But I want to know HOW I deal with it. I know I got to leave it in. But how do I treat it in an emergency? Last I heard something involving surgery to remove it and then stitching. But that was just assumptions on my part. No idea how to deal with it, especially "Barbed" arrows. Where you need to wear interwoven layers of silk clothing because barbed arrows are... the kind of arrows you don't want stuck in you. But I definitely know, pulling it out, is bad. For a spear? Skewered? I'm very sure that requires a lot of medical art of quickly pull it out, patch up the insides, hope it missed anything vital, and then stitch it up. That's what I assume, but I doubt the average person's as skilled enough to pull that off. But IDK what actual doctors do for that. All I know is with how delicate the body is, it's likely a death sentence.

@@Yung_Fettuccine Of I've found. It takes doctors with modern tech a couple days of process to heal you up excluding the actual healing. The sealing part takes a few days painstakingly sealing it bit by bit rapplying layer after layer of a gel with honey.

She's not a fighter, and the camp is quite competent, so there'd be no way for her to immediately escape. Instead, it's a long and intense process and involves her making connections with good and bad people in the camp - ones that might help her out and even teach her how to fight as well. There's sooo many more interesting things this character and story could've done.

In the original lore all the characters understood eachother cuz the implants were translators. They removed that from the series, for some reason...? So the implants are practically useless

This show could’ve been good if Bob instead saved Helena from a small carnivorous dilophosaur and Bob would teach Helena how to survive while Bob is also learning how to hunt/avoid dinosaurs since up until now on the island he never actually hunted actual living dinosaurs. Or the director and co could’ve at least tried to use the lore.
I feel like Bob's gonna show up in every "first episode set on new ark" episode and then promptly die a comically brutal death as a play on the classic community joke about beach bobs. Honestly im serious just read the explorer notes, the actual original story is a billion times better, Vin Diesel's character appears later on and gets his own notes (his name is Santiago!!) Helena Walker is extremely different on the explorer notes, she is more optimistic and is constantly trying to find out how the arks work and the dinos (She made the dossiers you find in game!!)

Da hell does that gotta do with being stranded on a freaking island with dinosaurs that wanna eat you for dinner and people who wanna send you to the afterlife...again. IIRC, indigenous australians have had a really bad history of being treated like shit (to put it lightly) by the aussie government all the way up to the late 20th century. Pretty much the same sort of treatment the inuit people got hit with by the Canadians, as opposed to the BLM loons who will see a white cop sneeze and claim that it was an act of racial prejudice that was intended to wipe out their entire bloodline (and that their peaceful burnings of a homeless man's only possessions bring us one step further to making the world a less hateful place). And I can kinda get why both the protest scenes are present in the show, the first showing a part of why Helena's so apprehensive about getting involved with conflict and then the second where she musters up the courage to finally do so in honor of her mother being a "I did it once, I need to do it again even if this time is so much more dangerous" sort of situation. Didn't come across as preachy or agenda pushing to me IMO, just felt... awkward, really. Which is honestly my primary issue with the show. It's pretty good but the pacing makes a lot of things feel rushed or come off kinda awkwardly with little time to really breathe. When a action scene is allowed to play out or a peaceful moment is given time to breathe, that's when the show is at its peak. The swamp scene in episode five might be one of my favorite parts in the series for that reason... _as well as it honestly being uncomfortably accurate to the swamp experience in the game._ God they're so lucky *the bug* wasn't in the game back when this series went into production.

It's the purpose of flashbacks, which the show only uses correctly half the time. This is even more important with a show which have actual time limits. They could of used the flashback time to actually build relationships and character so we actually cared when the Rex or the gibberish woman died.

I actually liked the show. My commentary makes me seem like im just hating I know. Less suicide, pills, segregation of races, historical inaccuracies and delusion. Like a 21st century female outpacing a SPARTAN. Other than that pretty entertaining.

I find this real sad since ark despite all the bugs and goofy character abominations we make, still tells a story about HUMANS trying their hardest to survive and keep the species alive, and how while one of us still trys to destroy it all. But no a DEI animated series was a much better story to tell.

Anime only simply refers to animation in Japanese, but in most other countries it's more specific to the culture. The art styles can vary, but it's the country that makes the distinction of name. I see bob and he speaks 3 sentences and I’m like, that’s my favorite character, stoic survivalist war vet, awesome. And then they shoot him in the back of the mouth and no joke I screamed “OH COME ON!” And begged for the revive factor the whole episode. By far the biggest woke piece of garbage I’ve ever seen after just two episodes. Not surprising that our main character is Australian and well let’s face it Australia has turned pretty woke. Going way too soft and everything in that country isn’t really resembling Australian. Like I always used to think as a kid in the United States, that Australians were tough, rough and ready adventures. But of course nope no, that’s all changed. They’re completely softhearted babies. It disappoints me because my dad actually admired Australia. He would go on trips to Australia all the time. Just disappointing in so many ways. I don’t know too much about aborigines history in Australia. But seeing the protest and stuff, I’m not sure what’s going on there, considering there’s the white supremacist and the demonstrators of the other side. I don’t know, but I feel like I was looking at two racist groups murder each other. I’m not sure what the whole point of the demonstration was, and what they were fighting for. I doubt there’s any discrimination going on in Australia. As of today I mean yeah, it exist around the world. But I’m fairly certain the aborigines are getting treated much better than they did back the 20th century or God knows when. I actually did feel sympathetic for our main character, considering she, despite her mother, going out doing all these protests. her daughter actually did manage to do better in life. which means despite that her mother is an activist at least she got to focus more on studying to be a doctor, but her mother is just dying slowly. I’m like lady chill out. Enjoy life don’t waste all this time being out there trying to protest I mean as far as I know in the 21st-century you guys are doing fine. Yeahh Australia has woke bubble in metropolitan areas, not so much in the outer suburbs. Media doesn't reflect at all what most Australians value, that was proven during the Voice referendum. When it comes to aborigine history it's patchy at best, it was never really well preserved aside from cave paintings, accounts from settlers and whatever knowledge was passed down through the tribes verbally.

The decomposition of LITERATURE, the decay of our THEATRES, of our MOVIE THEATERS, ALL the ART is now falling for it. MILLIONS of TRULY talented people DO NOT participate ANYMORE, for it DOES NOT appeal to THEM ANYMORE! This art was not born from our people, but is FOREIGN and remains ALIEN to THEM. It has nothing to do with OUR character and did not come from THE SOUL. It was IMPOSED on our people by a SUBVERSIVES!!!
If they made a tv show targeting kids like this 15 years ago they would of got locked up. If I made the rules Vin Diesel would be rotting on Rikers Island.
I would rather be woke than just cry and complain about it. Atleast I am happy and enjoying something that people put their heart into rather than crying and bitching about it and being sad all the time
