Can you imagine if the actors, even very politely, shot down that guy’s (who is from Variety) question? You’d basically have the opposite version of those thumbnails but from big entertainment outlets. You’d have some Variety article about it with some headline knocking whoever didn’t play along, and then a few minutes later all other entertainment media outlets would have their version of the same story.
"Is this the gayest Marvel show ever?" "No. We don't want to obsess over 2% of the population. They're not a target audience. They're a statistical error."
And yet they're still being referred to as a "marginalized" group, yet anything they don't like gets thanos snapped out of existence. They have more influence than freaking billionaires and I'm starting to wonder if that's on accident.
The 80's Megazone had the stars being interviewed all saying "This movie will be fun for the whole family", now stars are being forced to say our show/movie will be the gayest thing since Oscar Wilde.
Aubrey Plaza is someone who loves to stir the pot. There is an equal chance of when she was asked that question to answer it the way she did or say 'No, but it is heavy on puppy murder." She lives to shock.
"Nice TV show you have there, be a shame if it wasn't gay enough." Dude is even doing that nodding shit to enforce an affirmative answer. Gay mafia sent their most flamboyant.
To quote It's always sunny in Philadelphia's Frank Reynolds: "This is America: you're either a duper or a dupee. I'm a duper. You guys are the dupees."
Zack, your gay voice actually reminds me of the Jack in the Box guy from Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer on the Island of Misfit Toys. I have been traumatized.
Entertainment journalists have been doing this for ages and its always been really unfair. They bait incendiary remarks out of actors and then run the most over the top headlines they can. Studios should be onto this by now and simply not invite the ones who do it to any further junkets.
Or the actors could get sufficient media training (or any) to deflect such questions in a way they're not openly agreeing with the interviewer if they don't agree.
This show is made of mostly old theatre kids. If the cast enjoys playing dress up as super witches in a superhero IP, and the script conects with the universal truths and feelings then it would be good.
Watched the 2 part opener. No gay so far. Some girl power vibes (it is about a witches coven after all). Perfectly serviceable show 2 episodes in. It will be a hit if they can keep this energy.
My main reason for not being interested in this show is how profoundly disappointing I found Wandavision. I loved the first half, but by the end it was such a mess. And no Mephisto! I really like Katherine Hahn, though, and I love Aubrey Plaza, but nah, too much "fruit of the poisonous tree" in this show for my taste.
Aubrey Plaza also plays a type of a character. She is smart and has great comedic timing, but plays off this quirky oddball personality. Her answer is VERY obviously sarcastic, even mocking. Exactly on point with how she conducts her interviews.
The "head bob" was her essentially getting into character to respond. She is brilliant and knows how to maximize her public persona. (She is one of the few female comedians that I will say is genuinely funny.)
I feel like when all the episodes are out, it’s just going to be okay. Not the worst thing ever, not the gayest thing ever, just an okay show with maybe some subtle nods to the audience about the characters being gay.
I love Aubrey Plaza's body language here, she's clearly rolling with it. And the interviewer is an expert shit stirrer. He knows exactly what he's doing to garner attention.
Clearly zack has never seen what the BDPC’s have to say about Sydney sweeney. Must be a blonde thing though , because the “Drinker" actually complained that they (unsuccessfully) tried to ugly Sydney sweeney down for Madame web. and he roasted some guy brutally ,on twitter, for saying that Margot Robbie was “mid” at best.
"Well we are hoping to tap into a wider audience for diversity and inclusion". A very simple counter to the trap question. Hollywood buzzword 101. Question was asked Marvel actors answered and confirmed question. Actors roll with it and so did the BPC. No smoke with out fire unless it's CGI or special effect. So three parties are manufacturering smoke? The interviewer, Actors and BPC. With Zack going all Ali G keep it real.
i think half of these pseudo problems were caused by these interviewers tricking actors and actors going along with them, and then other half of the problems were caused by BPCs
Once upon a time actors weren't so full of themselves they accepted the need for media training to learn to deflect questions that appear to demand they answer a certain way. There was no tricking going on here. They either weren't prepared, did agree with him or don't care enough about what comes out of their mouths in terms of marketing.
@@tkps ok, and by tricking i meant asking questions whose answer involves some socio political issue which are mostly unnecessary/irrelevant to the movie/series , for some unknown reasons, these kinds of questions have become very common, for example why everyone is white in some period drama (worst case), and in this agatha case, these actors did decent compared to other bad examples
I don't get both sides. On the one hand there is this unpleasant, over the top dude that gets absolutely nothing about the show from the actors. On the other I've got whole week of thumbnails with this annoying actress and some witch show jus because its Marven and nerds like Marvel. I've found few pirate websites that have more comprehensive lists of movies that premiered recently that I get from really almost any channel or press interviews. I think they are redundant at this point.
Here to give engagement to Ya Boi. Don't care about this tripe of a show. If others like it... sure enjoy your show. Onto important stuff: How's the fall lawn?
Idk why these, lets call them what they really are, right wing grifters dont take these shows that are lame/woke/whatever and make videos reinterpreting them to be right wing propaganda. Example: the new star wars movies are about the consequences of young women growing up with out fathers/male guidance and the effects of overbearing feminists behavior stifling the masculine spirit. Edit: you are allowed to interpret art however you want. Its not illegal. Disney cant kill your wife for it.
I get a bit tired of the US stock answer of 'if you're not stuck to the left wall, you're a right winger'. I'm a centre leftie and loathe far left identity politics as much as I loathe US far right 'Christian values' types. I can tell a few of the guys mentioned are right wingers but not far right and some are clearly not right wingers at all. But today in the US it seems nuance is ignored. Accusations of far left/far right and 'grifter' are thrown around like confetti.
