Such an elegant bird. Beautiful lines that aged very well.

I was born in Tidworth military hospital 1965... my dad had a posting to the AAC at Middle Wallop so we lived there.... pretty much at thd end of the runway. 8 months later were on a VC10 to Singapore. Happy days.

Back in my British Army days I never got to fly in one of these as they were largely reserved as personnel carriers normally of high rank, recon etc... I did however get to taxi the Puma as part of a recon forward platoon, the PIC couldn't have been more than 20 years old!

That lovely unique Gazelle sound, a mix of the Turbomeca Astazou turbine engine and housed tail fan.....

Beautiful video, thank you for sharing. I've never noticed how much the horizontal stabilisers and endplates shake before on a Gazelle.

What if I told you Blue Thunder was a Gazelle with about a hundred pounds of plastic glued to the front to give it the Apache canopy look..

I flew in the Gazelle in Sardinia with a Royal Signals Cap't pilot on a photo mission. When we had finished we flew of to the beach where the pilot ran in behind a promentory before climbing for height and doing a stall turn before coming in low over the beach and scattering the British soldiers below into the water. Great Fun.1976 AMF Exercise

si capisce che non lo pagano loro il kerosene... qualsiasi altro pilota sarebbe in volo da un pezzo..
