GBA Smart Card - Antique Flashcart - Searching For Long Lost Softwares - Help!

Looking for a little assistance tracking down some long lost software for the ancient GBA Smart Card flashcart + USB programmer I found on eBay. Can you help?
The device in question is a blue USB programmer and 128MB Smart Card with the slogan "Burn dreams at will!" printed on it. I believe it might use the same drivers as a similar device called the AZF-Advance III, but I can't find the software for that one either. Any help would be much appreciated! :)
Thanks for watching!

Fingers crossed for you finding drivers, would definitely be useful backing up saves and maybe even getting saves online with all characters unlocked etc.
@RetroGameTech
@RetroGameTech 10 лет назад
That's what I'm thinking :) . Also potentially transfer saves to the PC and then use them in emulators etc. But I guess it all depends on what options the USB programmer software gives you.

Hey man. On our regional gbforum there was once an article about this smart card. The software to it is called: GBWRITER - you should easily find it on google.

Hey this is exactly how my atari2600 backup cartridge works. I made a reader/writer that connects to the pc which allows me to save digital copies of all of my 2600 games and then put any game on the battery backed ram cartridge. I was wondering if something similar existed for other systems and you just showed me the gba has such a device made for it. Thanks for sharing!

I have a similar flash cart but it's serial port. I find it better than the sd card one I have as it has no slowdown in games and they dont need patching. but its been flashed for ever with a castlevania rom since I dont have serial port any more
@SproutyPottedPlant
@SproutyPottedPlant 10 лет назад
Aaa hi see! I did wonder about the patching, it's nice to know it will still work (without saving) in the event all the XP computers in the world get recycled! Also I wish I could reply but Apple decided for some reason it's not an important 'feature' to put into their iPad RU-vid app :)

Hello. I have the same GBA Smart Card "Burn dreams at will" but only 256 versions, could someone tell me what USB cable would be needed to connect this card to pc? Because my years ago was gone.

Good luck mate, going to be tricky to find software for it. I have one of the old Flash2Advance carts which is now totally useless as no PC I own has a serial port for transferring software to it. In the end I went with one of those EZ Flash IV carts, I remember asking you about that ages ago (but I had my inbox set to contacts only! doh!!).

I remember having something like this but the box that plugged into the PC used a serial port xD If I remember correctly I used some sort of FTP like software to flash games to it using Windows ME. (Also this is shockwave952's other account. I would comment with shockwave952 but I've been locked out of the comment section for not linking with G+, sigh...)

You could try to look up the VID / PID of the USB Device once its connected (even without drivers) ... it should look something like this : USB\VID_0403&PID_6001&REV_0600 Just try to google some of the numbers the device will show in the settings.

I cant remember its been a long time, though I do remember buying it new ,Probably from Otaku or Ebay.. Its called the "SD mini SuperCard" , & the software is still available for DL on the net, There are also other cards software available online if you know the name model etc? The SD Mini SuperCard works great btw..You could try software from other cards as they all need to convert to the same format , so you could be lucky?
@denniss4951
@denniss4951 10 лет назад
I wouldn't call that an early flash card. Since it uses USB, it isn't. Early ones used parallel port. If the USB on that one works good, then it would be fairly late on. The USB attachment I have for the Bung card doesn't work very well.

You might to find info about EZ-Flash II It uses exactly the same software compared to what you have there. I have a EZ-Flash II myself, my research (and action) showed me that the dated software DOES NOT work with Windows Vista and up. Use Windows XP or less, and the computer recognizes the hardware (and within the program). It is a pain to load on it, but once games are inside, they load and play exactly as if it is an original gamecart. I hope this helps you out, need more help I could try to find out more. PS..: protip, sometimes through Archive.org old sites can be accessed (including their links to software) in the catacombs of the internet =P

"Burn dreams at will!", what this says to me, "destroying the dreams of the developers through piracy".
@danielm2142
@danielm2142 9 лет назад
***** this wouldn't affect the developers anymore, the companies have already made their money. but back when the game boy and compatibles were still being manufactured and supported, this would have caused a few problems for developers and publishers.
@danielm2142
@danielm2142 9 лет назад
***** True. emulators are more easily distributed (especially in 2000 with the internet growing in popularity), and the fact that they were free did make them more damaging. but then again, they needed quite powerful hardware that wasn't readily available\expensive.
@danielm2142
@danielm2142 9 лет назад
i don't think any if my computers from 2000 could run a gameboy advance emulator that well, but i can't remember the specs off the top of my head.

Rhys Zerbe I would honestly stay away from those with the built in memory and get the EZ Flash IV micro SD version instead. You'll have better game compatibility, you can use micro SD cards (which are cheap and let you have more space / memory for games) and the software is readily available. www.r43ds.org/products/EZ-Flash-IV.html
