A note on Slate compatibility with this kit: I experienced fitment issues with the FP buttons themselves. I suspect this issue is a one-off exacerbated by the extra thickness of the clear-coated brass shell. Aluminum Slates are fine.

Oh I see now. It's only with White backlight kits that are in stock. That's a bummer!

If you're okey with a white screen bessel or try a color scheme that fits a white bessel you can buy a Slate kit today tho :D Edit: spelling

On the point of confusion at 40:56: the menu in the Famicom Mini series of games that comes up when you press L+R are the following options: • Continue (closes out the menu) • Reset (restarts the game) • Linked play (only present in those games that had a 2 player mode) • Save high score (missing from the handful of games that didn't have high scores, e.g. Zelda, Metroid, etc.) • Sleep mode If you put it in sleep mode you exit that by pressing L+R+select. I believe you get the same menu in the Classic NES series of games, only obviously in English.

I actually bought this LED board recently and for some reason its just... permanently stuck on pink, hah - I've checked all the points, I've tried all the buttons - can't seem to change it The pink has slightly grown on me though, ngl

Does the startup animation for the LEDs change when playing a GBC game? I noticed it didn't change when you used the button testing cartridge.

I did a no no before watching your member vid on retrosix and bought their clear blue buttons, do you think the tolerances on them are a litle looser than FP's? I plan on using them in my upcoming Slate build and now I'm tempted to add a FP LED kit just like you did here makho. Would love a response from you!

can I ask what your thoughts are on the potential of DS Lite (or even the original) modding? I got my first modded GBA SP a few days ago & I haven't been able to put it down, I love it a lot. But it's just made the desire for DS mods that much more intense

I mean, what do you even want to mod? They already have rechargeable batteries, backlit screens, good audio, stupid cheap flash carts, etc.

@@makho better screens I think is the only thing I would want. maybe I have just had back luck, but I have not found any with good screens
