Theres something so fitting about the ghostbusters putting ads in what looks like a training video

This might be the greatest Ghostbusters video outside the movies/cartoons I have ever seen. I cannot wait to see more of these. Liked, subscribed and shared.

Okay, so. I'm a lifelong Ghostbusters fan and I USUALLY find this sort of thing kind of cringe-inducing. This is done so well and so professionally, though. It's so good. This is something I could see myself linking friends if the topic of how some of this equipment is supposed to work ever comes up. The presentation is honestly very, very slick. And, while I don't know if this is all genuine information learned from some kind of novelty manual or some such that has been published, I'm more than willing to accept it as canon. Really, really good video.

Man... you big GB fans know how to make things realistic. As if super natural elimination really does exist. Well done.

When Dan Aykroyd was creating ghostbusters he fleshed out and mocked up every single scientific detail behind every piece of equipment. As he said himself "Everything on the ecto-1 is there for a purpose." Where did you get the technical information on this? Did Dan jot down some technical notes on a bar napkin in '84 or something? If so I would *LOVE* to read it myself.

I always thought the reason to avoid looking in the open trap is that it’s so bright you’ll run the risk of blindness. That’s how Egon reacted when he looked in the trap, also why Peter looked away and then completely shut his eyes when the conic field expanded during the trap closure.

Absolutely brilliant. Thanks so much for working with me to make this video from my post. The post in the description explains it more fully for those that want to dive in. Basically the Tr mode requires you to set the NRADS shielding manually yourself when you catch multiple ghosts (and balance the battery life). The Tr + G mode primes the trap to maximum NRADS (or whatever you specify using GD) shielding and minimal battery life to capture a very strong entity. You can't open the trap to capture another entity in this mode without emptying the trap into the containment unit. (The NRADS limit for the Tr G mode is set using the GD switch on the NRADS mode selector, but most of the time it's just set to maximum NRADS). And ADF function. which allows you to capture as many ghosts as you want and tries to balance the NRADS requirement VS battery life automatically, but features much slower trapping speed/performance as it need to auto calculate NRADS vs battery life on the fly.

Somewhere out there in the bowls of the HasLab Lab, my trap and PKE are currently being built to these exact specifications. I will be sure to come back to this video before operating said equipment when it arrives in late 2024 to early 2025. Until then I am going to Muon Down Muon Down Muon Down The Road!!!

There is one problem but there is also a fix to it, the trap simply can't pull in Muons because muons are extremely unstable and quickly decay into 2 neutrinos and an electron, but the positively polarized electromagnets inside will still pull those particles inside the trap.

Unanswered Questions 0:39 How do you recharge the battery 1:53 you do realize thats just a fiurative quote in art and literature terms right 3:04 where and how does the trap make this conical Ionized radiation field 3:27 what is the rectangular button next the "Cone Adjustment Dial", and what kind of lasers are these 3:39 what is the purpose of those red/silver tubes next to the "Preset Dial" 5:01 what do you mean "connected" 6:11 what do you mean by "Hall Pass" and how is the ghost contained inside the trap(whats the methodology of keeping the ghost contained, does the trap break down the PKE into a liquid and then contains the liquid, or is it stored in some other method)

How do they get the trap back out from the containment unit onces they’re done containing the ghost? They never specifically show that in the movie.

my only problem with this is that Egon looked at the trap in the ballroom at the sedgewick hotel. only to be temporarily blinded not soul sucked. otherwise bravo

Wait, if the Ghost Trap actually traps MUON w/c are produced after an apperition got hit by a particle beam from a thrower, you're saying that the ghost should be zapped first by a Proton Pack prior to trapping? If that will be the case, how come a jogging ghost from the park in Ghostbusters II got trapped by Bill Murray w/o even zapping it? & there are instances in the Real Ghostbusters series that they trapped a ghost w/o using their Proton Packs. Or perhaps, I might have missed something. The methodology is very interesting.

Not a fan of the soul-sucking eyes theory, always preferred the "brightness will blind you if you look into the trap" idea, but this is so well done, I'll let it slide!
