GBO2 Desert Zaku (DR): Best tackle in the game!

This video contains two matches I had with the LV1 Desert Zaku (DR) on Gundam Battle Operation 2. It is a 400 cost raid with the highest damage tackle in the game, good thrust efficiency, a somewhat decent midrange game alongside pretty solid melee damage. It has many weaknesses however, such as awfully short melee range, extreme difficulties when trying to go from a stun to downswing against enemies with dodge rolls, mediocre boosting speed, no dodge roll and the need to stop to fire if you want to harass supports from a distance. I recorded these matches when this suit last got buffed. I won't be going over the buffs but, all I can really say about them is that they made the suit go from an unusable throw pick to a mediocre but usable raid. I hope that you enjoy watching!
Its primary weapon is a rocket launcher with 1600 power, 6 ammo, 6 seconds cooldown, 18 seconds reload, 1.75 seconds swap time, 350m range and 80% stagger value. This is top class as far as mid cost bazookas go, with a nice 6 seconds cooldown and solid damage. It also has a larger splash radius than the average bazooka as well, though the reload time is rather long.
Its primary melee weapon is the suits bare hands with 1800 power, 2.5 seconds cooldown, 0.5 seconds swap time, 100% side swing modifier and 70%/49% combo modifier. This doesn't deal much damage unless you go for combo swings, which is going to be extremely difficult considering that it has the shortest range melee swings in the game. The downswing also feels nearly impossible to confirm off a stun if they have a dodge roll. Getting a neutral swing, side swing and downswing combo off also feels impossible, the side swing often misses due to the short range.
Its first sub weapon is a heat tomahawk with 1500 power, 4 seconds cooldown, 1.5 second swap time, only one swing, 100% sideswing modifier and 260% downswing modifier. This is basically an inferior version of the Dwadge tomahawk, dealing less damage, but being easier to use because the suit walks rather than hovers. Normal swings heavy stagger.
Its second sub weapon is a long barrel machine gun with 500x3 power, 18 ammo, 2.5 seconds cooldown, 18 seconds reload, 0.5 seconds swap time, 400m range and 35%x3 stagger value. This stops to fire, but deals 1500 damage per burst and staggers if all 3 shots hit. The issue is, the ASL can cause it to miss moving targets, regardless of your aiming ability.
Its third sub weapon is a chaff grenade with 900 power, 3 ammo, 4 seconds cooldown, 13 seconds reload, 1 second swap time and 30% stagger value. This does poor damage, but it jams enemy radars for 30 seconds if they are hit.
The LV1 Desert Zaku DR has 17000 HP, 20 ballistic resist, 9 beam resist and 25 melee resist. It has pretty good durability, lacking in beam resistance, but making up for it with well above average ballistic and melee resistance. It has LV2 Maneuver Armor as is standard for this cost, but it totally lacks Emergency Evasion, which is hellish in a cost full of wire spam like 400. It also has a 15% damage reduction right shoulder buffer.
In terms of mobility it has 135 (138 including ground affinity) walk speed, 200 boost speed, 65 thrust and 69 (75 including affinity) turning speed. It has good walking speed and good turning speed, but the boosting speed is nothing special. It lacks Forced Injectors.
It has a unique skill called Shield Claw Tackle. Normally, this buffs tackle damage by +230%, which is pretty good but nothing crazy. When you have a completely full thrust gauge, it instead deals +630% damage and its range is increased by 50%. It has interrupt tackle to easily combo this with melee.
In conclusion, I feel like this suit is still quite bad. It wants to be a melee raid but its melee suffers from dealing just average damage AND from having incredibly awkward animations, it wants to shoot a bit but its easy to get interrupted because you must stop to fire, it wants to save its thrust for a tackle skill that doesn't even seem to work sometimes because of some bug. I don't know where they could even start to fix this suit, it isn't like they could just totally rework the melee animations, but perhaps they could drop the cooldown on the tomahawk to say 3.5 seconds, as well as dropping the swap time to 0.77 seconds. This way you could at least reliably go from bazooka to tomahawk neutral, then easily confirm your fists downswing from the heavy stagger. After that I think it could get 205 boosting speed, Forced Injector LV1 and Emergency Evasion LV1, though it still would probably be a weaker choice than Metal Spider, unless they juiced the melee damage to ridiculous levels. I can't really recommend this suit, playing Dwadge would be better for a suit with a similar playstyle, playing Metal Spider would be leagues better. Thanks for watching!

This thing is my favorite weirdo pick. Maxed that bitch out with enhancements while it is a fucking nightmare to play I can't help but giggle inside when I tackle a support for like 7-8k damage or get free random kills. It also seems to have a higher damage tackle than average.

I'm still salty that the Gelgoog Marine doesn't have the best tackle in the game. If they're not going to give it a Gallus punch melee, then they should at least give it the best enhanced tackle. It literally punches an MS's head off in 0083.

You have to press the quick fall button (L2) just as you are falling off the ledge. It also allows you to boost mid-air while falling, even if you don't have flight control. I use it when I can, since it is quite a useful technique.
