This video has two recent matches I had with the buffed LV2 Zeta Plus A1 on Gundam Battle Operation 2. It is a 600-700 cost raid with very high melee damage, a long reaching beam spear sub weapon, a pretty good transformation mode alongside good midrange DPS. Its weaknesses would be that the dual beam sabers have very short reach, that it needs to stop to fire the beam cannons and that it has poor turning speed while transformed. This suit was buffed at the end of March 2024 with more melee modifier for the LV2 and LV3 versions, +5 thrust, a LV3 buffer for both wings, LV3 Flight Control, LV1 Pursuit Auxiliary Melee Program, 2 seconds beam saber cooldown, better power for the LV2 and LV3 beam cannons, 10 seconds overheat time for the beam cannons and +1000 shield HP. I meant to do a video on these buffs sooner but sadly I wasn't able to find the time before now. I hope that you enjoy watching!
Its primary weapon at LV2 is a beam rifle with 2100 (3300) power, 5 ammo, 5 seconds cooldown, 12 seconds reload, 305m (605m) range, 10% (50%) stagger value and 3.5 seconds focus time. Uncharged shots have short cooldown which makes them ideal to initiate melee with. Charged shots use 2 ammo but gain much higher range and power.
Its primary melee weapon at LV2 is a set of beam sabers with 2950 power, 2 seconds cooldown, 0.5 seconds swap time, 100%/70%/49% combo modifier, 90% side swing modifier and 160% down swing modifier. These have very short reach but are capable of dealing immense melee damage. Even generals will take huge amounts of damage if you can catch them with a full melee combo.
Its first sub weapon is a pair of beam cannons with 800x2 power, 34% heat, 10 seconds overheat, 0.5 seconds swap, 400m range and 35%x2 stagger value. These can easily stagger enemies or shoot down flying suits, but they are most useful for shooting the support with from far away. They deal 6400 base beam damage if overheated, making it possible to deal with the support from midrange if it isn't feasible to close in for melee.
Its second sub weapon is a long beam saber with 2310 power, 4 seconds cooldown, 0.77 seconds swap and 100%x2 downswing modifier. This shares the same moveset as Zeta Gundam long saber but it cannot combo swings. It has long range and short enough swap time to easily be confirmed off stuns. Starting combos with this will deal less damage than starting with the beam sabers, but is far more reliable thanks to the difference in reach between the spear and beam sabers.
The LV2 Zeta A1 has 21000 HP, 15 ballistic resistance, 35 beam resistance and 30 melee resistance. It has average HP paired with high beam and melee resistance, but suffers from poor ballistic resistance. It has LV2 Maneuver Armor and LV1 Emergency Evasion for defensive skills.
In terms of mobility it has 130 (190) walk speed, 220 (240) boost speed, 75 thrust and 69 (48) turning speed. Its MS form mobility is average for a 600-650 cost raid but it can use its transformation to easily initiate combat or reposition as needed. It has LV2 Forced Injector and LV3 Flight Control for mobility related skills.
It also has LV1 Pursuit Auxiliary Melee Program. This causes you to deal 15% more melee damage to knocked over enemies.
In conclusion, I think that these buffs helped the A1 a ton. The buffs to its melee damage were helpful but not fully needed, it doesn't really change anything unless it needs to try and one combo a bulky support like Zaku IV or take on generals. What really helps are the buffs to the beam cannon, you can just sit at midrange and shoot the enemy support if you can't get close enough to melee, or you could safely overheat the beam cannon to shoot down dangerous suits like Anksha or Byarlant Custom. I think that they could have gone further with buffs though, such as by adding skills like High Speed Ram Attack, buffing the transformed mode turning speed or by giving it stronger vulcans. Regardless of that though, I think it is a pretty easy to use raid that can compete well at mid or close range, so it is worth trying out if you think it looks fun. Thank you for watching, and I hope that you enjoyed it!
