This Rapid Revision looks at the process of the Evacuation Chain or Route organised by British medical services in WWI, with the role of stretcher bearers, the Regimental Aid Post, the Dressing Stations, Field Ambulance, Casualty Clearing Stations and Base Hospitals all examined.
This revision video is designed to support the Edexcel/Pearson GCSE specification, but will probably support other specifications too!

For anyone watching - this acronym really helped me! “Soldiers Really Do Carry Bullets” which stands for S-stretcher bearers R-regimental aid post D-dressing station C-casualty clearing station B-base hospital Hope this helps someone!

Another great video, also sometime (if you haven’t already done it) can you go into detail about two World War 2 events which were the D-Day Landings and the Dolittle raid. Can’t wait for more uploads.
@mrclokehistory
@mrclokehistory Год назад
It's very unlikely I'll ever have time to cover the Doolittle raid as it isn't on the curriculum we teach, but D-Day... possibly!

Many medical professionals of the time found themselves struggling with the issue of fixing up soldiers just to send them back to war AND the oath to 'do no harm'

Cheers for all the content on the channel so helpful but just a quick question how benfical in remembering exact month and days for important events or can you just learn the year?
@mrclokehistory
@mrclokehistory Год назад
That’s hard to say. For some things,I’ve Germ Theory, knowing the year (1861) is probably enough, but for other things like the battle of the Somme knowing the first day (1/7/1916) is useful for know the context of sources as is knowing the later dates which might add further context if they come up. In short: learn as many as you can!

Sir can you please do an exam technique video for warfare through time? Particularly how to compare the nature/experience of warfare between two periods?
@mrclokehistory
@mrclokehistory Год назад
Sadly I won’t have time before Thursday, but the principles are very much the same as in the medicine exams skills video on that question. Remember things like the nature of weaponry and how it was used, training implications and those key battles for each era when considering change over time. E.g. the breakthrough weapon in medieval times was cavalry, but by WWI it was the tank.

Im sorry to bother you. You may not respond and that's fine but can you post a video discussing gcse questions itself and ways to plan, and answer the question. This may be for example: describe 2 features of the evacuation chain or Explain how the chain of evacuation led to new treatments? These are exist examples but this would help me so much. Thank you for taking your time to read this if you have.

No problem! Check out my playlists. I have some videos covering exam technique for all of the Pearson/Edexcel exam papers and questions. If you can’t find them, let me know and I’ll send a link to one.
