Shout out Angie K for inspiring the making of this video. This step is critical to the performance of your gas range after replacing the orifices. I hope all of you are having a wonderful life. Please subscribe, like and comment. Stay kind!
Turns out, my old range doesn't have the adjusters behind the nobs. It's a cheap (old) GE that was purchased used. Bro-in-law got the orifices in the right locations, but the burners are sealed. So I'll be shopping for a new gas stove/range late in 2022. This one never did work right. But it will do for now until I can save for a new replacement. Thanks for the shout out, Wayne! Love to you and SuzieQ. (Soon, when it's fully yours, you can lose the "13 acre house" moniker and just use the S.M. Heartland name.)
Yes. I can't wait for that to happen. We can't do anything to the house until it's ours. Walking on particle board flooring is getting old. So are the splinters in my feet, haha! That's too bad about your range. I'm sure the newer model will have those adjustments. I think they have to for safety reasons. Suzie and hope you will have a great New Year! Love and hugs to you Angie!
@@WaynePolcin Hugs for you two as well! New year should be good. I'm paying down my debts as fast as I can. Hoping to be debt free by the end of the year with luck. I've ordered a new gas furnace to replace the oil furnace in my old mobile home. Plan to install it myself (with a little help from my kids). The conversion to LP on that should be interesting as well. Heating oil here is about the same price per gallon as diesel at the pump. I am hoping to save some money with LP. I am (slowly) replacing the floor in my place, one sheet at a time as I can afford it. I'm nearly there, but the price of 3/4 OSB went NUTS. So I'm hoping for lower prices soon on that. People laugh at my crocks, but there is no better way to protect my feet from bare wood floors! LOL
About two years ago, Suzie bought me a pair really ugly slippers. I never wore them until we moved in here. I don't care what they look like as long as they keep the splinters out of my feet! Good luck with that furnace install. I'm sure you'll do leak checks before firing it up!
@@WaynePolcin Not to worry. Local LP suppliers all have the same policy; I can install the unit, and run copper line out the back of the house. But they won't deliver the tank and LP unless they put the connections on the copper, connect to the furnace and onto their supplied regulator, and pressure test the system before they fill the tank. So all should go well. About slippers; I got yelled at by a V.A. foot doctor years ago when he pulled a sliver out of my foot. He told me to wear slippers or shoes indoors always. He's the one who told be about Crocks LOL
I'm Kimmie from Kansas. I am widowed. I need to learn how to do repairs on my old farm house. I can hire someone or ask my family for help but it's nice being able to do things myself.
OMGOSH!! Just bought my GE model like yours. You made my day with your detailed video on switch to LP and the adjustments!! Thank you so much for your time!!!😊
Wayne, you sir are a blessing! Just bought a new GE Range, and the two videos you have put out, have absolutely saved our bacon in terms of converting to LP, which is what we have on our farm. My wife and I spent the last 40 years in the big city "rat race", and just got tired of it. So we moved 1300 miles north to the US/Canada border, to a 14 acre mountain farm. The nearest "service" centers, or appliance stores are a 2 hour drive away in good weather. What this means, is we have to learn to do everything for ourselves, and your videos have been a fantastic resource. You have a very calming "can do" voice, so even at my grumpy old age, I can calm down enough to listen to what you are teaching and actually learn from you. Thank you Wayne! May the Lord bless you and yours! Should you ever find yourself in our neck of the inland north west, know that you will be a welcome guest.
Wow! What an awesome story. There is nothing like life in the country. I’m so happy I was able to serve you. Thank you for the blessings and, who knows, we may find ourselves in your neck of the woods and would be happy to drop in on you. The same goes for us here in ohio. Thank you for the feedback. Stay kind and warm on the northern border.
Thank you so much for the kind words! I really appreciate it when I hear from people like you in the comments. It sounds like you have a wonderful new home. God bless you as well!
This is the only one I've done. I'm sure they are all different. This was pretty easy once I got the Chinese interpreted properly! Stay kind and healthy my friend.
ROTFL on your outro WP! that was a classic. Great video and as usual, I learnt something , many thanks on the tutorial on how to adjust the flame on each burner. have a good one. I sure hope Suz the Q can translate the outro for us! 🐶
Some days you just have to cut loose. I guess this was one of those days. I don’t think there is a translation and I’m not sure I would really want to know what I was saying🥱. Happy new year to you my friend! Stay kind!
New sub. Here I have a kitchen stove that I haven't been able to use for 2 years now because it's set for Natural gas but now I can change it and use it.
This channel is on fire 😆. Glad you got the stove all figured out, and awesome you were able to share, it's bound to find someone looking for help. I have a screwdriver like that for removing the jet/nozzle from the carb on honda eu2000 carbs, I've literally done hundreds of them. Maybe you will become an appliance repair guy, good money in it 😃
Very witty my friend- “this channel is on fire”! In the process of moving, I can’t find any of my tools anymore. I have hundreds of little screw drivers but I had to resort to modifying the only one I could find to do this job! Have a happy new year, Brett!
@@WaynePolcin I try 😃. I know how that goes, I've been living out of a tool box in my excursion, some tools there, and some in the basement, hopefully with the barn being built I can get a proper setup in there this summer. Have a blessed new year.
I'm purchasing a ge gas stove and need to covert it to propane after it arrives. It's the convection style which I assume will be based off the same principles as this model. I'll be doing more searches to verify. I didn't really find any information on home depot site about the conversion other than you have to do it. I would have thought they'd have the packet info that is on the back of the stove but I couldn't find it. Thank you for making the two videos they were easy to follow and logically assembled.
Better than PT 1... Cutting to the chase! To much extraneous info gets confusing when trying to remember info... KISS -- Keep It Simple Succinct! Otherwise your Right on!
Hi Wayne, thanks for the videos. I was able to convert mine to LP and it's identical to yours. I did all the adjustment etc but when it comes to test out the oven I can't find any flames. I looked thru the broiler for the flames but only see the ignitor glowing bright.... We brought the gas range brand new, never touch the lever behind the regulator. (Part 1)(I am assuming it's opened on default). What should I do next? Thank you!
Does the igniter on bottom always stay on and glow ? Is that what help the flame 🔥 stay on ? I Didnt know after a while if that should turn off or if it remains glowing. Answer if you can . Thanks and God bless you !
No. The igniter should not glow continually. It should only glow when the oven is turned on. It should shut off after the burners ignite! Blessings to you also, my friend!
Hey ! Thankyou, I just received my stove today. Just like yours. My question is - when you change the orifice in the oven does that work the broiler ? Mine has the broiler in the oven as well.
Yes. The oven and broiler use the same orifice. Don’t forget to flip the oven regulator valve back to the original position when done replacing the orifice.
Sir, the on/off switch that you turned off, for the regulator that was kinda hard to turn off. You did not state if you turn it back on or do you leave it in the off?
That was something I forgot to mention in the video. You need to turn that back on before the oven will operate. My apologies! Thanks for pointing that out.
The installation manual for your gas range will specify what the installation requirements are. I would refer you to the manufacturer on that. I apologize for the cop out answer, but without being able to see your installation and perform leak tests, I don’t want to be responsible for steering you in an unsafe direction. Thank you for asking.
For my range the orifices for NG are: BURNER - SIZE MM - COLOR CODE - MARKINGS Right Front - 1.36mm - Green - 136N Left Front - 1.78mm - Brown - 178N Right Rear - 1.55mm - Red - 155N Left Rear - 1.01mm - White/Purple - 101N Center - 1.93mm - Yellow - 140N Oven - 1.93mm - None - .076
It sounds like you still have the natural gas orifice in the oven burner. LP is higher pressure than NG, so if you forgot to replace, then you would get a much larger flame. Maybe you got them switched around accidentally.
Man you’re good, one and done, on the broiler adjustment😆. My luck it would have taken at least 5 attempts to get it set just right. So what is the first dish being prepared in the new appliance?
That was pure luck. As it turns out, the mix is not very sensitive to the shutter position, so there's a lot of wiggle room. Plus, I had already been through the procedure one week earlier so I had a good feel for it. Suzie has already baked a batch of molasses cookies. What would be your pick?
Owe!! hot burner. We have all been there, welding and hot surfaces. You know it is really hot when you hear the sizzle before you feel it, don't ask me how I know. Is there a German version to the video? Could be "very interesting" Blessings and Happy New Year to you and Suzie.
Hahaha. If you know how long I had been working on this video, you would speaking in tongues too! Sometimes, you just gotta vent. I guess I was venting! A very happy New Year to you and Sue as well, my friend!
Update on a double oven. Pretty much everything for a single is out the window. Much more complicated. Worked on it 3 and half hours. Top oven has one orifice. Simple , remember though you are working in half the space. The bottom was the hardest. It has a broiler and a bake orifice. Bad part is this oven is also a convection and air fryer. Had to take alot more parts off to get to bottom oven bake orifice. Anyone that gets one of these double ovens is gonna need alot of patience. Only easy part is that the regulator is on the back and very easy to get to.
Well, I think somebody needs to put up a video on to tackle a project like that. Grab your camera and start shooting, my friend!😊 Thanks for the feedback! Do you mind telling me which make and model you have?
Boss, appreciate your excellent tutorials and information. Im having trouble with the gas hose connection to the appliance. If you have time to get on a call I would venmo you at this point because I cant find anyone who does a tutorial with the exact stove I have except you. Also whats thats language? Thanks again sir!
The kit came with the range when I bought it. Most, if not all, gas ranges should come with the conversion kit because the manufacturer doesn't know if the range will be supplied with natural gas or liquid propane. You can also purchase them directly from the manufacturer, GE, in my case.
Hi Sondra. I did do a complete conversion in my first video. Unless you have a different model, there should only be four top burners and the oven/broiler burner (1 burner for both). Here’s the link GE Gas Range Natural Gas to Liquid Propane Conversion PART 1 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CIVeu1yuOmI.html. I hope this helps. Thanks for reaching out to me!
