Please make a note of this: I could not find this simple straight forward explanation anywhere. I stumbled on it by sheer mental reflection. I find it rather amusing if you ask me that even in the so-called technical manual you will not see it explained in simple direct straightforward language. Read on my friend. If the blinks on the controller are normal ( once a second) in standby mode. Stand by mode is when the machine is plugged in but it is not on or running. You start your machine and it does not agitate or spin but does everything else. You look at the blinking light and you will notice the blinking is still once a second and not twice which is what it should be when the machine is running. This is not clearly explained anywhere as to what to do. Trust me. Look down below when I brought up the problem and there was no answer. But the gentleman that made the video did reply. No worries, it is the simplest fix in the world. Just reset the washing machine. Bingo. How to reset? Unplug the washer for a minute, ( within 5 seconds or so if you pay close attention you will hear a click. That is the sound of the capacitor discharge in the machine in case you wondered). In fact, you can plug it back in after that discharge. However, it doesn't hurt anything if you just wait longer. Once you plug the machine back in, if you pay attention you will hear that click again except it will take hardly two seconds. Now you have 30 seconds to do this: Within 12 seconds open and close the lid on the washer 6 times. Don't worry if you open and close it 10 times in case you lost count. The point is to open at minimum 6 times. And your problem is solved. Another thing that is not made clear. You plug the machine and it does everything except wash and spin. You check the controller and no light is blinking at all. YOu got a blown fuse. Located on the right side looking at the back of the machine, follow the wires and you will see tape around the wires, remove the tape, and there you will inline fuse ( it is 10 amps from the specs table). You can check the resistance and see what I mean as it will show, OL, open line, over the limit, or whatever lingo you want to use. . You can either spend around $20 for another inline fuse or you can make your own and it doesn't have to be inline. Just make sure you tape it really good so to keep corrosion and wetness off of it. The fuse on the Neutral wire, 3rd pin from the right on the right-hand side harness ( which is the larger 6 pin connector). The wire on my washer was white with a red stripe. You will see when you undo the tape. One more thing. No matter what you do to this machine whether you unplug it, install a belt, or even if you lose power, due to an outage or whatever... guess what? reset the machine And there you have it. ( Helpful hint: Undoing the electrical tape to get to the fusible link will be one miserable doing. Why? It is baked on like a dead circus. If you don't use the following remedy you will be kicking the dog and the dog will run into his water spelling it all over and your wife then gets on her hands and knees wiping off the floor while cursing at you. Remedy? Get your lighter and gently heat it. The heating is a gentle business, a one-second interval is all it takes and the tape responds fast softening. You can thank me later. Cheers.

Thanks for the info, if you ever have a "GE" aka POS washer w/o and you open the front access panel do yourself a service and check the load selector size silicone pressure sensor hose (it's on the left and attached to the outside drum) we have already had 6 apartments get flooded due to this silicone tube being blocked with black sludge, gotta love the emergency pager at 2am btw who the F washes clothes at 2am

Lex, Congrats on your video with the GE fault codes. However, I recommend against hastily replacing the motor assembly, based on my experience described below. Model Number WPRE6100G0WT Brand GE Age 10 years If you're having trouble clearing codes on the below GE washing machine this may help. GE WPRE6100G0WT was flashing a code 9, "brake resistor open" green LED on right side of motor assembly. The factory manual suggests replacement of the motor which, in my case I found unnecessary and misleading! What worked for me was clearing of the fault code by following the steps described below. Unplugging washer for more than a minute and then following the steps Open/Close the lid six times did not clear the fault code. Had to leave washer unplugged overnight and repeat procedure. 1. Leave washer unplugged overnight. 2. Plug washer. 3. Open / close the lid 6 times within 30 seconds of plugging it in, or within 12 seconds per the service manual. 4. Code should clear - the green LED will flash 1 sec ON 1 sec OFF. The spin cycle speed will return to normal and the clothes will not be wet upon completion of spin cycle. Hope this helps.

I have a older model with the green light. It’s blinks normal. But still no spin or agitate. Any idea what’s wrong with it. Also the lid switch stops the tub from filling when I lift the lid. Which I assume means the lid switch works. Any help would be great.

Hey lex, I have a stove that all the burners are not working, recently had a on call maintenance work order on it , to find that the power supply wires from the power brick fell off and touched the side, so I repaired them with a splice, now top burners won’t work only stove???

My GE washer model is WJRE5500G2WW. Does this error code list still apply to my washer? I looked at the motor and it has the little green LED flashes 6 times. According to the code listed, the motor is locked. I manually rotated the belt and saw both the motor and the basket inside moved freely. What should I do next? Thanks.

Lex- can't get my washer to do anything. Have no lights at all on the motor. I get a couple beeps out of the machine every 20 seconds or so. Any ideas?

Hey man, I have a similar washer to this and often times once it’s done running there’s still a bunch of suds in the machine. There’s also some water and suds underneath the machine. I opened it up and watched it for an entire cycle but didn’t see any leaks. Any idea what it could be? Based off this video there’s no error codes

Mine does not flash...the pump works...the washer will not spin. I did move the washer to my basement and it was working. I did power wash to clean. Its been 2 weeks. The light in my GE flash once a second when I plug it in and the machine is off. And it also flashes once a second when the machine is on. The machine does everything except it won't agitate or spin. What I meant to say is the motor won't turn, it doesn't run. Which ends up with no agitation and no spin of course. The timer does advance and the fill and the drain of course work. Now, what is the deal? What is normal about that? This is all too absurd for me. By the way, I am an Amazon junky. You solve this and I will go through your link that is for sure. Oh, I have two of these machines. Model WJRR4170G2WW. ( A side note, probably won't mean anything. I got the first one couple of days ago and that machine wasn't doing the above. Then I got another one yesterday. She said it just leaked. I brought it home and I realized she was right, the machine did run fine. Of course, I never checked the leak. Suddenly I decided to plug the other machine's motor into this working one. I simply unplugged the three harness from the motor of the working one and sat the other motor from the other machine and plugged the three harness into it and sat the motor right down next to this machine's motor as you can't go very far. I turned the machine knob that I had sat on drain and spin and by golly, the motor ran like a grape ape. Now comes the fun part. I unplugged that motor and plugged the wires back in the machine. So I decided to see where the leak is. I poured some water in the basket and turned the machine to drain and spin. Guess what, the motor will not turn and it has been so ever since. So now both machines singing the same music. Oh, I went ahead the plugged the other motor to see what happens. Nothing.) The lights on both motors have one blink per second regardless if he machine is on or off( but plugged in of course)
