Didn’t the govt realised when opposition won sengkang, Singaporean REALLY SEE HOPE. The message is clear, very clear. Singaporean see much more hope for Singapore future without even question on opposition won as compared to ruling party existing Covid 19 plan where we still have many uncertainty.
10 seats win out of a total of 93 seats does not effect any change. Changes to Constitutional laws will still be passed without the support of the opposition members. As long as the ruling party (PAP) does not have two-thirds majority seats, the opposition members can prevent the ruling party from exercising their rights to change the constitution. Ideally, 32 opposition members would be effective if voted in to parliament.
@@jj96432 Of course you r awfully correct in ur comments but d OP is only asking from d voters for 32 seats or 1/3 of d majority inorder to be more effective in d Parliament.
Every year, people becomes less supportive for PAP. This shows that we are no longer as gullible as we were, if PAP were to continue their rule as they are now they WILL be kicked out by 2030
One was given the Mandate to Rule, One was given the Mandate to Voice Louder. Both were given the mandate to warm the cockles in our heart ~ 🌹 Both please cooperate , 60 Months to warm us, and your time starts now.
As imperfect and unfair our electoral system still is, it makes me proud. It is something worth showing to my foreign friends who laugh and think Singapore has no dynamic democracy and think the GE is done North Korean style.
He has no talent He can’t speak well Cannot understand his English He laughs to himself as he he speaks If I cannot understand him, I wonder if international audience would? He entered Tanjong Pagar GRC under the wing of LKY, would he have been elected if he stood alone in an SMC? He lied about having masks and use his lie to cover the fact that SG had a shortage of masks & reprimand SGs for forming queues to buy masks & hygiene items. He called SGs an embarrassment. His arrogance was captured in a leaked video. His second leaked video exposed his confidence of PAP winning GE 2020 due to the covid-19 crisis as he said PAP always wins the election when there is a crisis. He instilled fear in his rally speech that SG will lose a few hundred thousand jobs. WHY IS HE STILL VOTED IN TO ASSUME HIGHER ORDER RESPONSIBILITY? SGs of Tanjong Pagar GRC: You have not only done a disservice to yourselves, but to SG as a whole. 5 YEARS OF HARDSHIPS
Must vote Ah Chan out to the pit of hell 👎👎👎 ,I hate him for playing voters mind. I run the country i want all pap members & mp salaries to be returned to Singapore, Singaporeans.
Without the Opposition, PAP slack from what i observed . We need more Opposition to push & kick this PAP butt to work . Now PAP vote has drop they being to work. I don't like this type PAP code of conduct. They PAP should work from the beginning not when the vote drop start to work. Thanks to the Opposition for pushing this PAP to work . All Hail ! Opposition 🙋🙋🙋🙋All Shame on you pap.👎👎👎👎👎.
Singapore should have only 2 opposition SDP and PSP in the West and WP in the East. The opposition should have a combined menefisto and only fight in a few constituencies. 11 Opposition parties Sengat gila seah.
We should only have one opposition which is WP. SDP only has popularist policies which will cause taxes to rise. Meanwhile for PSP, unless they can prove they are more than a two person party, than they too should not run least they become like NSP who had CST for too long.
@@limpei6542 I agree with you. It is more healthy to have 2 opposition parties in power but so far WP seem to be the only credible one. WP actually work the grounds and like PAP choose their candidates properly. As for SDP, I find that the party is only held by 2 or 3men like PSP. It is true that Chee has walked the ground often but the rest of his team besides Paul seem like opportunist. Thus I am unsure about SDP but WP really knows what they are doing. In a long run when they finally are forced to take over the government, there are a lot of things they would have to change but currently, they will do well.
@@marketgarden8910 If WP manages to keep a hold on Jamus and Nicole, they will continue to do well in future elections. For PSP, I think that other than TCB and LHY, none of their party members actually stand out. That's one thing they would have to work on if they want to compete in the long run. For SDP, they are better than the rest of the bunch but that's all I'll give them. One thing I'll disagree with you on however, is the selection of participants by PAP. The Ivan Lim saga has shown otherwise. Who knows how many others have made it in before him.
There is slight improvement in this video as compared to your previous COVID clip. There is good pacing and tempo to the entire clip, but the drone shots are still bad.
Thank you opposition voters, you guys are the best! One day, Sg will be a democratic country like my homeland Malaysia! I've been supporting opposition in Malaysia until balance of power occurs, check and balance is very important. Don't be like PAP supporters, they are all CCP.
2025 ge will be your judgement day. We're coming for you. But it won't be painful, no we're not gonna hammer you. We're gonna drive something through you. Coming 2025 ge, one thing you can do. You pray.
Respect to all politicians from all Parties that went through huge struggle to get to where we are today. 4G leaders from all parties listen up, warm the Cockles of the people’s heart in the next 5 years. Grassroot leaders from all parties, UP your game and help your MPs. Period
Strange that PM Lee considered Universal Basic Income to be nothing more than a "fashionable peacetime slogan", yet his government has been operating in expansionary fiscal policy through the disbursement of "GST Vouchers" as a remedy against the COVID economic depression. In fact, the disbursement in April was the closest thing to a UBI since it was "Universal" in the sense that it was not means-tested (i.e. not determined by your income or property). Or perhaps that was DPM Heng's idea instead of PM Lee's. I'm eager to see how the govt will proceed now that the election is over; will they go with further expansionary policies, or continue with their plans for contractionary fiscal policy (i.e. GST hike of 2%), and how the transition of the premiership will mean in terms of economic policy.
@@Blazer433 I understand it is not the same thing as UBI, and I never claimed that it was. But it is probably the one of the closest thing to it so far, so it was kind of surprising that the PM used such dismissive language against the idea, since his government at least believe in the effectiveness of non means tested direct cash payments (in April) as a "serious wartime plan".
@@user-ijh7tl5ie3 @Fattboy Thank you. If you want to know more, Jamus has a wonderful post on his social media about the GST hike and how while it is delayed, the unwillingness to cancel it outright will still result in stifled expectation and hence demand, which will make recovery harder.
I suggest we use our National Savings to Speed up Our Town Renewal by tearing down our Our Old HDB flats and Replacing them with Modern 50 storey ones thus releasing more Space for other Productive Purposes. The present Owners will be given preference to Own these brand new houses with a brand new lease of 99 years. The Opposition estates will be Last to be Redeveloped. Lots of Jobs will be created for Singaporeans for at least 20 years.
I feel bad, sick and sad because party who promoted chauvinism and rasicme still lead Singapura. PAP is only political party in this world who passing Prime Minister position from father to son. May ALMIGHTY GOD help good singapura citizens for next 5 years.
@@Banana-cc5rx same set of rules apply to both PAP and WP. Scrutinize both parties FAIRLY during their parliament speech, because one is a government, the other is a shadow government. The scrutiny doesn't begin and end during the GE. It should last beyond the GE.
It hurts the most to see SGs paying TOP DOLLARS to a bunch of morons in parliament. Please name how many people qualify to be paid millions for their performance? These guys don’t deserve the salaries they receive!
My belief is that Singapore Communications and Information minister S. Iswaran banning or restricting Huawei from 5G network,in favour of more expensive and less technologically advanced Erickson and Nokia is Number 1 reason for the huge swing in election against the PAP results throughout Singapore . Huawei is very very highly popular in Singapore and the ban or restrictions against Huawei 5G caused extreme unhappiness among the people. West coast GRC which was a strong PAP ward previously, did extremely badly and its vote share fell very sharply from 79% in year 2015 to 51% and i believe the number 1 reason is because the people there voted strongly against Singapore Communications and Information minister S. Iswaran at west coast Grc ,because of the Huawei 5G ban or restrictions. The swing against the Pap in West coast GRC is the biggest of all the wards. I am 100% sure this is the number 1 reason for the huge swing against the PAP in the 2020 election. With Huawei being permanently out of Singapore 5G ,most likely there will be even more protest votes against the PAP in next election ,resulting in PAP getting less than 50% of total votes and being unable to form the next government in year 2025 .
PAP may get less than 50% of votes in 2025 but they will still form the government.West coast, east coast will be gone to the oppo through and the oppo will have 20+ seats.

Questions for Singaporean’s. WHY are feeling that someone OWES you something? WHY are you too blind to see how vulnerable we are STILL? Just because many foreigners work here, Singaporean’s becomes ROYAL BLOOD? You mean we have arrived? Remember, we have nothing! No resources! Continue this, we will have to pay dearly. This is not a game of cards, it’s your life and mine, remember?
Singaporean are not rejecting foreigner workers that come here to help build our construction work and works that no graduate wants to take up...but replacing a equal if not more qualified Singaporean in a PMET role is what Singaporeans are angry about.
@@K.T07 and who hires the PMETs? The government or the companies? Who are the HR of companies? The hiring manager of companies? (Mainly singaporeans right?). Then, my question to you is this, is it the government's fault or our own fault? And to totally not take in any foreign PMET will do us no good as well. We need competition to encourage innovation and free exchange of ideas i.e. einstein, obama etc...
The population is just confused and frustrated at this time. They understand not the pandemic has done and is still doing. Frustrated and worried of job security. Confused because some parts of the opposition uses colourful vocabulary to decorate the campaign. The population was seduced into believing it. The population thought that we have arrived, the world is below us. What mistake it is. The world outside is very very vicious.people are jealous, they are laughing at us. This pandemic is so damaging that the population thought that by using worker’s party to squeeze some miracles out of the PAP. It’s sad. Next some ‘has been’ was riding on past glories to prove a point. Times are different, times have changed. Worst, this ‘has been’ is banging on some other’s domestic issues to hit out and profit from it. It saddens me that ‘when you drink, one must never forget where the water comes from’. If the Workers Party is of any use, it would have been proven during it’s founder’s time, not now! They never possess any direction for Singapore, they can never lead us into prosperity! It’s always ‘being people’s voice’ ‘ speaking out for the people’ NEVER can they be the ‘Alternative choice !’ NEVER! Colourful vocabulary will NEVER get us any where! The medicine is ‘BITTER’ the patients are complaining, sucking up to them will lead us to disaster. The population is numb to the world, others are catching up, if we carrying on this, we will be over taken by everyone and anyone because there only3.5 Lillian Singaporean’s.
