the gear score system needs to be in game and values shown currently its super favored towards spreadsheet gamers. [no issue am one myself] But grey junk gear timmies get caught in the crossfire when people are able to smurf upto 199 and still be against base gamers. you can hit like 45% pdr with that amount and just W key people. theres like 10k people playing remains to be seen what epic does to that but anything to "ruin the new player exp" is bad.

I'm surprised you thought the ap farming was the biggest downside. To me a frontline and two default supports (who bring in the rest of the frontlines kit) is the biggest problem. A juiced pdr smite cleric with res and a blue/purple kit in 199 lobby who can easily res the default wiz/bard sounds like a big oversight.

Having to sit there amd count points to make sure ur not at the bottom of the cap is stupid. The diffeence between a full built green kit and a just whatever kit is actually huge

Honestly it feels like your more in line with how ive been feeling about the game since the teirlist video, everything feels strong, not completely busted, let people have their fun with things that feel good, I also completlu agree this teir system gives all items a niche which is amazing. Overall w update, as you said giving people the strict knowleg3 of the numbers behind teirs might not be the best choice on how quickly people are to min max it, but the fact that gesr differentials are smaller makes for better fights

Apparently Ironmace also said there’s a chance the multiclassing system gets entirely removed or revamped depending on how much people like or hate it.

while the numbers for the gear seems fine, what i think they should modify is the "bracket" system. Junk can pair with Orange, buuut rarely. high times gear sets are very close to one another, low times regardless the match starts with full lobby but a wide range of gear. in hr with gear being able to spawn easier and have better loot, theres a good chance you can find an upgrade for your kit, anybody queueing with crap gear in HR deserve to get rolled imo, its ranked aka a risky queue where u gamble your "mmr" or status, if youre not gonna bother to ensure your survival, then u deserve every bit of bullying in the dungeons. the randomness of queues while having some sort of match making would imo bring back the old playtests matchmaking sorta. make it so its still a mystery. A person going in hr with nothing but junk should have a "chance" to be paired with chads, obviously not likely but low play times increases the chances. itd also give a sense of accomplishment for a greened out person to take out a full purple person. especially if its a more rare occurrence imo

if they ever do end up making the points for the GBMM based on the stats/attribute rolls of gear, then they should make it based on the value of the roll instead of the type of roll. i.e. - a 5ms roll will add more points than a 1-2ms roll (basically u will get matched based on power level of a stat roll if that makes sense). This makes it so that every stat can be viable and the devs wont be telling players what stat is better or worse than another stat.

Made a perfect 198gs rogue kit to decimate goblin caves. I get free empty lobbies with a few naked on HR at most. someone might have 3-4 collective blue or greens but can't stand a change against a 130hp, 322ms rogue hitting for 90 with a blue rapier

I aggree with Todd on this one, I was a normal only trio player but with and the speed nerf on gear HR feels the best its ever felt to me. I would consider myself an above average casual, play 2 hours after work and during weekends. GBMM feels so good. I know I'm not gonna be 1 shot even if you stack max BIS per bracket.

Yea high tier bracket is just dead, mid tier bracket is pretty lit tho. I haven’t tried low tier bracket yet but it looks full of players and fun af. Change wasn’t as bad as I expected it to be

The inference I'm getting from this is that the game is more fun with less gear. It seems like a band-aid solution to the games terrible gear. A friend brought this up to me and makes a good point: if you cant reroll or edit/craft gear in any meaningful way outside of basetypes, why can any gear roll any mod? Barbarians will never use magic damage so why can it even roll on barb-only gear? Answer: because way WAY too much shit drops so you have to have 'artificially' bad items to dilute the pool. I.e. purple horseman with magic interaction and double magic damage rolls. Did they think to solve this with multiclassing? I don't know. WHAT IS THEIR PLAN?

Dead high gear lobbies and zero risk really kill it for me. Its fun to mess around at the lower gear bracket for a little while but this also adds queues just like giving every dungeon a solo mode will. Dead lobbies feel terrible

There is 100% gear risk but instead of losing days you lose a few hours worth of gear.

GBMM is the answer, if they refine it with time and more inputs as every matchmaking system needs time to correct itself and need to be worked on and be added more parametters ( this happens with every MM system in any game) but i think this is a really good direction, and as you are doing, im having a lot of fun in the 199 gs lobbies #GREENISBIS

@@JSON_bourne hmm not really, the core of the game loop is still intact. What kills the extraction thing, that ur lobbies are filled with ppl with similar gear to you? I understand that in other extraction based games or "looter - shooters" the fact that you can run into a geared guy and kill him is part of the thrill and excitement of the game , but that js not the case on DaD, the gear gap is too influential or in other words the gear makes it impossibke for these things to happen . So yeh you can minmax your kit to run in 199 ga bracket like a god but thats not the point, You know what else you can do and i dont see anyone talking about and i think is healthy for the game? You can start as default squire gear in HR , and be upgrading your stuff with things u find in the dungeon, and keep qeueing in while upgrading your gear, and in every lobby, you are gonna be matchmaked with similar levels of gear, and i think thats amazing. You can literally build a kit by just playing, and that wasnt possible at all before. Sorry for the rant love ya

@@sigmarito yeah that kills it pretty hard for me. People with low hours and bad team synergy are gonna always get rocked by 3 stacks who have 1000 hours together. Now the game is just less exciting on top of it. "Oh I won that fight, look it's someone with worse gear than me and 100 bandages"

Green prices thru the roof now lol. So still the better player's get the better green gear. The higher tear lobbies r empty everyones playing under 200 lobbies rn

Gear based match making should not be in HR. I see so many people coming in with just lock picks and a big luck pot, sometimes 1-2 piece of luck gear as well. Then you are in a HR with no risk of running into geared players. but have access to the best gear in the game. Gear based match making needs to be in normal lobby, and HR is who ever you get and you need to bring the best gear possible to survive. Or make HR cost 150g again.

Yes, I’ve been having a LOT of fun making builds under 199gs. 199 lobbies feel like the og playtest normal days. Some people are full naked with purple weapons, some people are min maxing green/blue gears. Some people are base kit with meds. I had a fun time lol

While I think its overall a step in the right direction, the current system devalues the rarity of gear and doesn't take into account rolls and stats. I think if they tied gear score to the amount of +dmg and the stats of the class it could be better. A naked barbarian with a blue weapon is much more threatening than a similar rogue / wizard due to the high base stats barb has. Not to mention barbs can run without a helmet and chest quite easily. Eventually I think we will reach a point with the current system where greens blues and purples will all be similar prices according to their rolls and it will be more about which lobby you want to queue into. Edit: I think this would be largely solved if the higher gear score lobbies slightly better loot than the lower gs ones. This would also alleviate the leaderboard issues since people would be able to climb faster in the higher gs lobbies.

Stealing this idea from someone who shared this with me today but I thought it was just too good to not share with the community to be honest "I get your thoughts. I'd like to see them change the 1-199 bracket to a basic high roller lobby with white gear like normals that can only be accessed after a character death. Same elite PvE, same drop rates. Only upon death would you requeue into this basic high-roller, maybe add an AP penalty just for that raid and a 15 minute cooldown after a successful extract to reduce abuse via intentional character death in the next game. If you survive, the next queue throws you into the 1-399 lobby (or 400+ if appropriate). This would focus on snowballing the player to acquire gear in the dungeon, like starting with a self-found mode (my dream preference for this game). Players could still have the option to immediately throw gear on after death and enter the 1-399 or 400+ lobby if that's your jam, or just stay default to get a better chance at a come-up. If people want to min/max at 399 I'm cool with it, the market appropriately reflects the cost of quality green gear. So if somebody really wants to seriously invest to stay at 399, go nuts. But right now, I have a better chance at finding gear in the map to pull me up to a competitive state in order to fight these min/maxers that rely too heavily on stats as a crutch. The opportunity for skill expression is much better right now in my opinion due to the more narrow gear gap. I think we've all had that high-roller fight where you die and you're certain it was real close...... then you see that they're still at 50-75% hp. I don't experience those radical powers differential now." - JoSchmo-gg

I don't think it worked out exactly how they wanted, but I actually really like the way GBM turned out. Honestly it's pretty fun to gear up right at 199, and just go and PVP players at the same level

I don't think the state of the game should be permanent but I'm having a lot of fun. I'm finally playing barbarian and going in with a purple zweihander and some blue move speed gear with no chest or head and I'm having good fights and making money. I can land right at 199 with some meds or put myself just past 200 if I want to try and swing up against some stronger builds. Also +1 all green necklaces are so good and still sooo cheap. Personally the first round of changes I would make would be to average out your weapons so that a blue primary and secondary would be equal to both a blue two handed, a blue primary and gray secondary, or just a blue primary. And then you can move the points total for different rarities up or down. Just because I don't like bringing in a terrible offhand when I feel like it wastes points and I'd like to bring in a decent shield with out destroying my build. Also I think we can all agree that potions and most consumables shouldn't add to gear score. It feels like I'm being restricted and it's a real imbalance between cleric and warlock compared to the rest of the cast since the can heal off their kit. Also I think I would put slight loot buffs on the better gear lobbies. Nothing major but it would give someone a reason to play in a higher bracket even without wearing beast in slot gear.

Adds up all your gear and then puts you with people better than yours. Yeah more manipulative gaming, so fun. I'm glad I ditched this panzy welfare gamer game. It's now officially for children. Enjoy your dead game lmao no game deserved to die more.
