For those that wonder Rhino Schneider refers to a large artillery cannon used in world war 1. Luffy uses some form of weapon for nearly all his attacks, such as pistol, gun, rocket, Redhawk (a type of gun), gattling etc

luffy is the only one of "the big three" anime main characters that never went rage mode on someone. He always had control over his powers.

Fun fact: non-haki users aren’t able to see the color of haki or haki in general. So the red arms and flames and dark circles around luffy can’t be seen by the civilians. They just see regular luffy but fat and bouncing, that’s why they were all like “what the hell.” When he came by.

⚠️Spoiler for anime only⚠️ I watched the gear 4 reveal with my friend who is going through One Piece completely blind and he thought it was so sick. What I thought was cool though, was how there were other people watching who don’t watch One Piece but everyone laughed and smiled at the way Luffy was fighting in gear 4. I think it shows how Oda is a genius who’s been setting up Luffy as Joyboy since the beginning of the series because Joyboy is said to unite people through laughter, even while fighting. Luffy has always made people laugh and root for him before we knew that was the whole point to his character.

first episode gear 4 was awsome. Gear 5 had the hype but was disappointment in comparison.

I think G4 is the ‘worst presented’ gear.. I mean, let me explain: G2 was amazing, and that first fight against Blueno was great af. That speed, with the logic of ‘pumping up the blood’ was such a cool power up. G3 was so misterious before the first time.. It was just hinted. So strong and so strange in the firsts -not showed- uses… But when it was revealed it was shocking how simple it was. Lucci even laughed at it, but after take the Giga Pistol, he understand how powerful, and slow, it was. The first ‘double-edged power up’. But G4… It comed so ‘out of nothing’… I mean, G2 and 3 were made cause an fcking admiral kick Luffy’s ass… And G4… For some biggy animals? Really? Whatever… G4 had some great with some WTF moments in his presentation.. So strong but so…not understandable.. I mean, Wtf with Culverin? Wtf with that looking? The akuma no mi shown in his body? The smoke permanently around him in the same position? The ‘armament’ not beeing hard but rubbery… WTF I NEED SOME EXPLANATION I don’t dislike it, still good..but the others gears were shown for the first time way better. With better explanation in how they worked… - IMO -
