Unboxing and 1st use of my Tamar 2 tent. Will it withstand the wind and rain on this cold night?
This is a real budget tent to add to my collection, great for a first tent, but how will it compete with my other tents?

Thanks for the review. I currently live out and have a one person tent so I bought this on sale for £45 to give me more room. Staying with family tonight but will put it up tomorrow in the forest. Definitely roomier than my current tent (I can't remember what it is, I'd have to look). Looking forward to a roomier tent and one I can sit up in. Tip to everyone. Use your pack as a pillow. You can fold a fleece on top. You'll get used to it. Trust me. I've spent over two years in the woods and homeless on the streets. I've done a lot of this

Useful review 👍 I'd used one of the previous versions a while ago (the ones they have photos of on the website with the black trims) and it had held up pretty well, so decided to buy one last year. Was surprised when I opened the bag and set it up for the first time and saw they'd changed it without updating the site! The newer version looks more gaudy/less discrete with their colours especially the green, but the tent itself also just felt worse quality overall. I've taken it out a couple times and it's held up fine, I'm not confident that it'll last as long as the older one had, but it'll do. Decent enough for a cheap entry into camping though, especially for a double-wall

I have a Eurohike Backpacker dlx 2 - more of a tunnel tent bags of room - that's been through all kinds - winds up to 50-60mph and snow, rain and sun - a bit. I don't have much trouble with condensation due to very good ventilation, has little plastic windows on the spacious vestibule. I ought to make another video of it really pitched out.

Sound like a good one Mark. Definitely get a video made if you can, as it's great to see and hear about what other tents people are using. Have a great weekend 👍

Good morning Dave. I'm not sure about the 70s colours, green n mustard, I think that would grate on me after a while, odd you mentioned the colours at then end lol. I wonder if they named it after the river Tamar?(probably). Cool review though buddy glad it didn't leak ha! enjoy the rest of your weekend and see you on your next adventure ✌️ 🤙 🤟

Morning Rich. Yeah strange colour choice but it is what it is. Maybe the river Tamar is green and yellow. Have a great one buddy 👍

One thing you didn't mention Dave is that you can not only pitch it outer first but also all in one.

Thank you Chris. Absolutely it could be left together if you wanted to. I personally fit it a little restrictive leaving the inner connect and prefer to keep separate, but you could definitely leave together. Thank you 👍

Its no pronounced tah mar but tay mar..the tay rhymes with hay or pay. Its named after the river that separates cornwall from devon.😅

Currently £35 from Go Outdoors. Used for a couple of nights on a recent motorcycle tour. Weather has been nice so cant say about waterproofing, cant go wrong for a occasional use tent.

I have the Tamar 2. 1) The fibre glass poles come apart in the gossamer thin sleeves. 2) Trying to get the second pole to bend into the second sleeve is a nightmare. 3) Putting the keys into the bottoms of the four poles is easy until the last one, when you have to have the strength of Geoff Capes to put it in. The inner involves a lot of toggles in a lot of small hoops. As each one is done, and it becomes under tension, it gets harder to get the toggles into the hoops. I put this up once. It then took me two days to get all of it back into the thin case and get the zip done up. I then bought the Nature Hike Cloud Up 2. Bigger, stronger, easy to put up and a forgiving stuff sack that always takes the tent, poles and pegs with no difficulty whatsover. Buy cheap, buy twice.

I purchased a Tamar 2 for £30 a while back, thought it was appropriately priced. Now they're £65 plus... not worth it.

Fortunately Millets will price match once you've wasted time searching all the same JD group of companies including Go Outdoors, Ultimate Outdoors, Blacks, Millets... can't be legit what they're doing.
