Gearing a New Character For Fractals in Guild Wars 2

Recently, I decided to gear a character on an alternate account for Fractals so I could get my fractal farm on twice as much. This account was relatively fresh and did not have access to all the ways of getting ascended gear that I would usually use. So this should be fairly representative of what a regular player who is looking to gear their first character in ascended armor could achieve.
Overall, this took me roughly 60 hours from creating my character to being fully geared in ascended gear and ready for Fractals. This could easily be done quicker of you focused on more efficient methods of farming gold but I think this provides a reasonable expectation of the time required. Most of the time spent here was simply farming gold casually to fund the ascended armor crafting and agony infusions.

How can crafting be considered "easier" if it is locked behind Augur's stone, which are account bound and require spirit shards to get?

Main reason I think is that you can easily control the armor pieces you go for rather than relying on random drops from Strikes and Raids. A full set of crafted armor should only require 120 spirit shards which should naturally accumulate over time as you play. If someone hasn't crafted any legendary weapons then they will likely have this already.

Certain parts are (like the endgame content I was doing). Would say most of the game is pretty relaxing though.

You don't need ascended gear for fractals. For higher tiers yes, but there's a lot of them to play with no ascended and you'll quickly get ascended trinkets while playing fractals to be able to do half of them

Very true, you can start out on the Tier 1 Fractals with no AR required. However, in terms of making the Fractals as rewarding as possible my personal preference is just to jump straight to the Tier 4 ones as fast as possible. The 4 daily chests mean you'll have a way better chance to drop extra ascended weapon and armor boxes.

This guide is a bit... misleading. To do all of the mentioned you will need a shitload of masteries unlocked, on which you will have to spend a shitload of time as a new player.

Meh, it's not misleading. It just covers everything high level from the perspective of someone who knows the game very well. New players should always expect it's going to take time.
