Great video, one thing I did on my 2nd play through since exp comes in so quick and you don't have access to msq locked dungeons was use the grand company seals to buy what gear you can from them, once you find the town with 130 gear you can buy it immediately but after that 60/70/80 is msq locked. You can either buy the best crafted gear and sell quest rewards or look at the other jobs. Gun breaker and dancer come with half a set of ilvl 255 gear and at 70 sage and reaper should come with nice set too although the gear is job specific
Thanks! Like explained in the video there is no need to upgrade gear with anything but poetics as 130 will take you to the last dungeon and msq story to which then 270 is unlocked so on and so forth. The jobs do come with gear but no accessories and there usually 15 ilvls under but I keep them for glamour purposes haha
for stormblood the 70 job quest reward is 290, so you are always safe. if low on poetics (mostly because you also create hw relics still) at 70 but you swim in centurio seals from daily hunts, then Shiokaze Hostelry is worth a visit. they sell 340 gear in exchange for centurio seals, which will last pretty well until you can afford the much better Scaevan stuff
OMG. Thank you! I'm new to the game and I've checked a lot of videos for beginners, none of them talk about this. I am lvl 50 and felt underpowered and squishy and didn't know what to do...I thought this is how it's supposed to be
Would like to preface this with love the video! I mainly just watch for info on the matters myself, but one thing I would like to say for anyone out there, Ofc if you know better than I correct me. But from 1-49 as far as I’m aware, you CAN just use the brand new gear and replace right side only, that’s what I’ve been told and been able to gather.
It’s been along time around that level for me but I believe I kept it until it recommended new gear for me. Depends how your leveling a lot jobs at that stage but it goes by prettt fast I think
at level 15, tanks, healers, and physical damage dealers will get three full sets of armor including a ring which can take you through most of the base game pre-50. you have to talk to the hall of the novice NPC at any of the adventurers guilds. just need to complete 7-8 short training scenarios which half of them reward a piece of the gear along with a small chunk of XP. in the early game the accessories have far less impact. post-50 though you will need to keep a closer eye on them.
80-89 i use augmented cryptlurker gears from Eulmore then lv89 artifacts gear, then at lv90 with the new tomestone gear for ilevel 570, then EW new normal raid weekly drop gear vendor ilevel 580 in Radz-at-Han (i still haven’t got my first ilevel 580 gear yet xD still stacking those item thingy from every reset lol)
I would also note that for Tanks and Healers, Poetics gears will hold you over through the entire next expansion. BUT the last 2-3 story/leveling dungeons might get spicy. So watch out. Doable but spicy.
any tips on how to get tomestones quickly? just spam dungeons? quite a lot for all classes and all those set for every 10th lvl per class. great video tho, so good! the vendor to the right of the vendor in Idyllshire is selling Primal 1, 2, 3 and 4. if I remember correctly; are primal weapons for every expansion? 1 is for ARR, primal 2 is for heavensward, 3 for stormblood and so forth? all required lvl 50, guess they scaled it down
Those are all glamour weapons at this point so if you’re leveling you’re just gonna use the poetics and that’s it augmented ironworks gear, white gear etc , You’ll get to town by just playing through and doing your daily duty roulettes that you unlock once you get far enough in the game
Well explained clip! I just wanted to confirm if I understood well, since I've just finished ARR's MSQ, I should grind out a whole poetics i130 set which'll last me till the next expansion, rinse and repeat till 90?
I got the 110 Evenstar gear for my SMN from the MSQ and it looks awful! Glad to be buying the 130 now! Do you get a class set (ilevel 55 I think it was) for each job that you level? That set got me to end of ARR basically. If you’re thinking of new vids I’d like one that explained all the crafting manuals. It’s not great that you can’t see what they are until you buy them.
Yes you get a I level 55 set for each one Through your job quest. But you should be equipping the 130 anyway and you can just glamour the job set over it
Can free trial players do the Daily roulette? I’m trying to beat a realm reborn before the update but I need a 42 item level and I only have 40. I’m trying to get weapons atm in the gold saucer but I don’t need to waste time
So, a question, how can one gear with poetics alone, in Stormblood, when, as i understand it, the Scaevan gear only becomes available, when you complete the quest Stormblood, which requires, 280 minimum (the Ala Migho Dungeon), 10 lvls higher than the 270 offered by gear from Ildeshire? the gearing in this game feels very disjointed.
That is the only time that poetic doesn’t meet the gear ilvl requirements BUT going through the msq first time gives you the gear you need for that quest ☺️
I’m currently going through the game and I wanted to swap from White Mage to Machinist in Heavensward, would the best approach be to get Level 50 on Machinist, go back and get ARR Poetics gear for my Machinist and then carry on the poetics loop as per usual, or should I not buy ARR gear on my White Mage and instead wait to buy the ARR poetics gear on my Machinist?
You can't sell dungeon gear.But everything else you should really get gear If you a healer or tnk at 55 65 75 85 because the ilvl spike in dmg is alot. This why tnk be dying and Healer can't heal comfortably because their ilvl be low.
Like explained the poetics gear will comfortably get you thru all content without have to update your gear. Even post patch 6.01 I’ve had zero trouble leveling other jobs in those ranges
@@BunBossFFXIV most ppl aren't as skilled at dodging aoes as you.For a example tnks aren't using cool downs effectively so they jus getting beat to death exceptly Drks.
@@BunBossFFXIV For DPS or even healers yes, you can use poetic till the next expansion, but tanks should start upgrading the left-side gears at lv 55/65/75/85 dungeons IF you leveling via spamming dungeons. Not just the ilevel, the defense stat on the left side is big difference on the tank, you will stress out your healer if you still pull w2w. Of course you can skip them if you level by leveling roulette/frontline/MSQ roulette/bozja etc.
