I used to play competitively, my team even won Meadowlands one year (I was just a kid so I couldn’t travel with them). Awesome upload bro this is the best game in the series for me, the fact this game still looks visually beautiful is insane for a 2006 release. Nice for newer players to see the routes of gears of war and what it’s really all about.

It's how it really fits the aesthetic of the mid 2000s shooter (muddy grey aesthetic) but it fits gears so well. The barebones squad shooter makes it really hold up on gears 1. The 60fps is also too good, it easily has the best aesthetic + gameplay combo.

Man, nostalgia runs deep within a game like this. I always loved playing Annex and racking up like 30-40 kills a game. It was so much fun, I’m just glad I was able to experience this game from the very start.
