It isn't ruined. Jesus. Anyone who thinks that isn't a fan of the series and should just move on. 4 and 5 while not the dark atheistic of 1-judgement they are great, high quality games. And 6 will be as well. So go play CoD

@justevolve 5 wasn't bad. It experimented, and I think it had some growing pains while experiencing that. I think 6 will be the best and final gear. 1-3 were amazing. Loved them, Judgment would have been the best had the not messed with the controls and weapon slots. 4 is pinnacle Gears and is still the one I play every year on Insane mode just for how well the response of control is. 5 is mediocre, but as I said, It just mostly aimed at a larger audience
I absolutely love gears of war three, it's perfect, over the course of three whole games things get progressively worse and worse, more and more of humanity is getting slaughtered, and you only manage to save it when you're on the brink of absolute extinction, all the sacrifice, the long years of vloodeshwd and violence, all building up to that final moment, where you've finally won, but have nothing left, except for your brothers, and your sisters, your family, and must revuild humanity again
@Antimanele104 I think most people are referring to the campaign when it comes to the first 3 games. I loved gears until judgement came out. And tried to be hyped for the newer ones, but it didn't feel like gears anymore. Just felt like they took a complete story and tried to recycle all of the old problems. It felt like after gears 3 the story was over. I really wish they had made a pendulum wars series or something. That would have been awesome.

The only way to resurrect the franchise is to give us what we had with 1-3. Maturity, gore, a compelling story, characters that aren't insufferable, a feeling of insurmountable odds, guns that sound and feel heavy, an enemy that makes us feel like they are a threat, destructible surrounding (buildings, fences, vehicles, general structures), and this one is just a personal preference, we need an inspiring speech on the level of or greater than the speech Chairman Prescott gave us in Gears of War 2. And people who say that I'm coping or am "blinded by nostalgia" have gotten used to getting shafted (or didn't mind getting the shaft in the first place) and have forgotten what standards are.
@kurro_yt5034killing off Kate? She irritates a lot of people. Her character wasn’t done too well and comes across as selfish and absorbed in her own problems. Throw on top if you want a feminist ‘her story’ game in a franchise which muscly brute force men used to dominate, it just felt wrong. I just found her to be insufferable and just down right unlikeable.
Idk if he's trolling but the franchise has been almost dead since gears of war 3. The coalition is in a continued state of decline, like 343 with halo. Maybe you guys don't remember how big gears was during the 360 era

I will admit gears of war is not near as good as it used to be but I did enjoy 4 and 5. It's mainly the story that went down hill for me but the gameplay is what has me hooked still.
I know a lot of people hate the 4 and 5 games, but damn, they arent bad, the story is, but the gameplay is fun and good, and the Hivebuster dlc of 5 was pretty good, i dont get why people throw so much hate, i still think they can make a good ending in 6, lets have faith brother
Was a big gears fan, until 4 came out. Played more than half of it, stopped eventually. Couldn't even have to bravery to play the mess 5 was. It's kinda like Halo, it was over a long time ago. Gears ended at 3, Halo ended at Reach.

all though by now its comfirmed we are getting a new gears of war game that being placed in E-day so this pretty much makes it being the gears to set up the lucos human war, but im sure gears e-day will be followed by gears 6
They should have ended the story with gears 3 and started a new story with another squad during the locust war and mix in pendulum wars and UIR content to explain the lore better.
I kinda don't want a continuation of this story. It hasn't gripped me in the way the original games did and I find myself going back to playing 1-3 and judgement before I even consider playing 4/5

Even when you shoot the ice in gears 5 you can tell that its poor cause is like looking at a image of a bullet hole on google still seeing the square box around the "bullet hole"
If the Coalition doesn't listen to the fans and only try to appeal to new and modern fans and see what made Gears of War, Gears of war then I'll drop the series and only play Gears of war 3 (in my opinion I'm not tryin to start beef)
This is most ignorant short on Gears there is. The Coalition did not buy the rights to Gears, Microsoft did. The series has not gone from strenght to strenght, Gears 4 was good, and Gears was even better, but they are far from matching 2 or 3.
Ngl the overwhelming hate comments for the newer gears games is kinda surprising to me...i knew it wasnt everyones cup of tea, but i enjoyed Gears 5 quite a bit. Its not perfect, and pales in comparison to Gears 2 & 3's campaign but I definitely had fun with it, i liked the free roam stuff and the Jack stuff, the story did wonders for JDs character as i thought he was kinda cocky in 4, so it could good writing to make him lose let him feel it. Kait idk, i get people have a problem with her, im not crazy about pushing a feminist agenda on the game but i do think she was gonna be a big part of 5 whether you made her the main character or not just case of the Locust connection there...loved Escapes inclusion too i thought that is such a cool concept for a Gears Gamemode while being a tad repetitive.... I always thought of Gears 4 as a simple game, that didnt do a ton of new for the franchise and didnt experiment a whole lot. 5 they tried new stuff, i enjoyed some of it.... If i had one major gripe with the newer crew of characters its just that 4 did absolutely nothing to try and flesh them out. The whole game was JD and crew go to save Marcus, and oh no! Now they gotta save Reyna! Very little heart and depth to a world that wasnt nearly as dark as the old games. Whereas I'd argue that Gears 5 improved on that and while its not perfect, its a great step in that direction storytelling wise. Anyway I'm wondering why all the hate? Sure Gears 3 is just all around goated but I'm curious what peoples actual issues with the newer games are?

Thing about continuing franchises is the common theme of killing off the original characters to make room for the new ones. Gears is no exception , either your in the ballpark in for the story or gameplay , i think gears 6 will be great gameplay wise but for story i think it will be decisive especially if the new characters arnt that interesting. Kate to me was alright but her attitude while i get it being confused on your lineage and having to find out who you are, she still carries that narcassistic attitude and hasnt grown out of it or matured. Hopefully 6 changes that, if not then itll just be gameplay thats good

I prefer the enemy variety from 3, I would love a fucking huge Gears 3 remaster but bring in enemies from 4-5 (except DB robots those things are gay) but with the smoothness of gears 4

Coalition doesn’t own Gears IP, Microsoft does. Coalition is just a MS owned studio that is the main developer. And there is no “strength” in the game. TC has destroyed the franchise with sole virtue signaling bullish/t glued to every facet of the game they could. We traded raw power and visceral rage for rainbows, emotes and a company that would rather tell you their pronouns than add meaningful content to a AAA franchise. Your take is straight garbage.

Honestly they shouldn't attempt 6. I only played the first one and that was amazing to me. The rest for some reason didn't appeal much. I'm sure 2 and 3 were good based on what my brother told me.

Dawg real talk gears 5 when not focused on the WAR part felt like liberal propaganda. They abandoned the "of war" for lgbt flags and a woman story. I liked JD and Del, they were fun. In gears of war 4 they did political talk fine, or at least better than the propaganda gears 5 was.
They ruined versus by manipulating the game play. It is an algorithm that gives an advantage to everyone at times, but it just ruined the game. It should be uniform game play for all, and if you are bad, just get better
