Cracker of a game and very hard! I really enjoy the card mechanic. I picked this up too a number of years ago cheap as chips on sale. I think the minis are great. There is a bit of user content on the web too which is nice. It is one of the pride and joys on my shelf as it is OOP and people always are surprised when I say "Gears of War the Board game".
Left Handed Panzerfaust - I'd forgotten just how hard it was!! Serves me right for rushing in. Its a great game - didn't realise there was some community stuff. Must check it out. Cheers!
You have to look at what the omen symbolizes for that enemy. The Boomer's omen means 1 wound for each other figure in that area (limit one per attack) (example being 2 wounds and 2 shields and 1 omen logo. meaning that if Marcus and Baird are in the same spot only Baird takes a wound cause Marcus' damage was cancelled by his shields and Baird suffered splash damage)
I was lucky enough to find this for £80 last year and it was unplayed or at least the minis were all still bagged up with two that needed some glue. Really enjoy it but would like to rope my gf to play to avoid multi-handing. Good to see it isn't only me getting destroyed.
Regarding line of sight. Do you need to simply be able to draw a straight line from the attackers area to the targets area, without having to pass through a black line? The explanation for this is not clear in the rule book. Or is it based on the actual character model? Since I’d the character isn’t in cover then can it be counted as it’s anywhere in the area it is currently in?
Looks like a good game...but very generic to the huge amount of mini board games available... Similar to Doom in any way? I loved gears of war..played it to death....should really of bought it... Andy you've gotta paint it....would look great... Super video mate...
Never played Doom so can't comment on that one. It's fairly generic however the mechanics do make it feel like Gears of War. The running between cover, the chainsaw on the gun, the reviving downed COG's. I'd love to paint them but its just one of a long list of "to do's". Thanks Mic
TheWeekendGeek it's a great game but I wouldn't pay that kind of money for it. I've seen it on eBay and Amazon at silly money but I'm sure you'd pick it up off some unsuspecting person for good value.
+Wargamer Nick yeah unfortunately it hasn't been for a couple of years now. It's driven prices up to silly money. I could sell mine for over £200 now 😳 - I think I only paid £40 for it.
can someone tell me which card was printed wrong?, there was a card that was numbered wrong, i can not for the life of me figure out which card it was nor can i find any information on it. thank you.
You only bleed out if you take more damage than you have cards THAT'S when you bleed out. You were fine and kept giving yourself more damage than was needed
You're doing it wrong. You only pick up the random weapons (the cards with the Lancer on the back) as an action if you're in the space with the question mark and the tile tells you it's a random weapon. If you want to pick up the Hammerburst the Drone dropped you discard a card and pick it from the other set of cards that have the weapons on them. That's why there are 4 copies of those weapons.
Thanks for pointing these out. I’d only played through once before this and that had been some time before recording so I’m sure there’ll have been a bunch of errors - that said I still had a fun game.
Thanks David. I think I realised this when I was editing the video but missed it during the game. I need to play it more to get up to speed on the rules again!
BlackJack Legacy it's a great game. Again sorry for spamming you but i love the Gears series and the board game so I wanted you to enjoy it too. Any time the Locust roll an Omen symbol look on their card and see what happens. Drones heal, Wretches spawn another wretch and Boomers deal 1 wound to each other figure in that area
