In question #20, Jake's room is not geometrically possible as drawn. Since the radius of the circle is 10, that would make the diameter 20. But, the side of the square is only 14, so the picture does not make sense because the diameter of the circle appears to be about half the side of the square when it is actually 6 (ft.) longer.

I have decided to get my GED at 53 years of age and I have been watching a lot of these videos, but most of them go over how to solve problems, but don't explain the areas of the issues, like why are an x and x, why is y, y, etc how do you know to do algebraic equations? I have taken 3 pre-tests so far and passed, but I know my problem areas will be math, language, and the arts. I am trying to pass these tests as a personal goal that I actually should've achieved a long time ago but kept putting it off.

Good luck to you ! This is great. I would suggest for the pre-test make sure you pass with a margin We usually get stressed during exams and that can lead to mistakes. The question 55 is simplified incorrectly. At exactly 1:56:50 You added 6x + 50x , you ignored the negative signal. the correct was to subtract -6x+50x which is 44x.

That depends on the person, but for example if you do the free Algebra 1 course on Khan academy that's 16hrs worth of videos. I would check them out, and that will give you a better idea of how much time its going to take. Best of luck!

Hello. I'm going to be taking my GED soon and I was wondering. On question 28 as I was calculating I used the Pi button to calculate the answer and I got 167.551. Now I realize you used 3.14 to get the answer and in turn got 167.446. My question being: what should I use; 3.14 or the Pi button? Thank you!
@GEDmicrolearning
@GEDmicrolearning Год назад
Good point political potato, the Pi button probably contains all the numbers that make up Pi. By convention (for simplicity) we use 3.14 for Pi . My guess would be that in an exam situation, they wouldn't give you an answer option where this would be an issue (or if it does become an issue, you would be able to challenge the response).
@politicalpotato9855
@politicalpotato9855 Год назад
@@GEDmicrolearning Already, thanks for the response! Also by 'challenge' do you mean that I can dispute the question as unfair? I do not plan on abusing such a system but it would be good to know. Thank you again!

@GEDmicrolearning

If you look at the graph it represents 550 beverages . The RED portion of the bar graph starts at 400 and goes to 550, so that tells you there's 150 coffees

I think there is a problem with question #68 at 2:16:50. Either the radius or the length of the enclosed square in the helipad is misstated. The radius, although not explicitly stated but used as the radius in the calculations, of one of the four circles is given as 5 ft. That would make the diameter of each of the four circles 10 ft. But the other measurement of 20 ft also appears to be the diameter of a circle. Thus there are two different diameters for identical figures. If we are to go by the 5 ft measurement because it is used as the radius in the answer calculation, then the length of a side of the square is 10 ft making its area 100 sq ft, not 400 as stated in the answer. Thus the total area should be 100 + 157 (the four half circles) or 257 square feet which is not listed as an answer. Am I missing something? The diagram is very confusing

Stuck on answer on question 57. How did you get the answer A=123 from A=1/2 (246)?
@TheBatosai
@TheBatosai Год назад
With all due respect. I have to say the logic in question 11 is not the greatest. I got the answer correct by simply looking at the given answers, adding the months up from Jan to April 90x4= 360, then subtracting that from 1898= 1538. The guess work for the months is not necessary unless asked for months. We are being asked how much money is left for her to go on spring break, not how much for living expenses for the rest of the year.
