Yep I got the 10gb variant back in spring of 2021 and was going back and forth between 4k and 1440p. Ended up going with 1440p as the 3080 didn't seem like a true 4k card this gen. Glad I was right!
@@CargoShorts7 Same here! Love this card for 1440p and glad I don't have to upgrade to anything else for this generation of games unless I get a 4k monitor.
I own a 3080 and basically the only game it struggles with is Cyberpunk 2077 RT Ultra 4k, you have to push DLSS there up to Performance for comfortable FPS (with DLSS 2.5.1 .dll file it looks fine). Other than that it is a great 4k card, DLSS Quality and Balance are godsent.
You have 3 * 8 RAM, so the dual-channel mode does not work. There may be fps drawdowns and loss of performance. 5800x3d does not depend much on RAM, but it would still be better to add another RAM module
i h ave a rtx 3080 with a ryzen 9 7950x playing on a 1080p monitor i need upgrade too 4k asap . games look good at 1080p but i love single player games and im sure 4k would just loook amazing

I saw in some benchmarks that the 5800x3d is no different than a 5900x in 1440p gaming.....in 1080p it boosts the fps by a lot but 4k and 1440p doesn't make much difference.....with a 3080 i don't think i will play at 1080p so i think i will go for a 5900x......if i am wrong at anything plzz do tell me
I currently own Ryzen 5 3600 and RTX 3080 10GB. And in games like dying light 2 and Forza horizon I see a difference of 5 to 10 FPS only at 4K resolution. In dying light 2 i see with DLSS set to quality you were getting 80 to 85 FPS. And for me it was 70 - 75 FPS. So I don't know if I should upgrade my CPU to 58000X3D or I should stick with my 3600 for some more time as I will be gaming at 4K only
@@mohdshafiq6845 Yup I just updated my CPU to 5800X3D and motherboard to Asus X570 Pro Wifi and I already see 15 - 20 FPS higher in my games at 4K resolution. Now in future i might go for a 40 series graphics card so that i get the best performance at 4K resolution.
yea my 3080 rog strix easily lands at 330w-370/390. i cap it at 90% power tho and lose 1-2 fps while it averages around 280-330w instead and is 10c cooler. hungry cards but damn they do perform extremely well in 2560x1440p
@@GAMINGBENCH What I am surprised is at the 1% lows at 1080p. It seems like the 3080 performs best at 1440p. At 1080p 1% lows are worse.. Maybe the CPU is doing more work at 1080 than GPU. I have an Acer 32 inch 165 Hz 1080p monitor.. I am confused whether buying 3080 is worth it because I feel like I need at least 1440p to reap benefits of 3080. At 1080p 3080 can be of use in very small % of games like Cyberpunk and Plague Requim. Rest majority of titles need max 3060 Ti or 3070 I guess
@@1989rs500 at 1080p buying rtx 3080 will not be a waste. Maybe today it would seem so, but after a year or two even 3090 will begin to struggle after new titles come out. Dont forget that 3080 is now a 2 year old card
@@krugboi Yeah.. But what about power consumption between say a 3060 Ti and a 3080. Anyway within next 3 years many gamers might switch to 40XX series cards. Thats why the confusion as 3080 will suck more power even while idling. But resale wise it still wont give a significant more amount after 3 years
