California’s coffee-farming industry is growing, and it may be because of Frinj Coffee, and their CEO Jay Ruskey. Jay has been growing rare tropical crops in California for over fifteen years, starting first with fruit, and landing on one of our favorite indulgences, coffee. But not just any coffee. Frinj is growing some of the most rare and sought-after varieties in the world, right here in California.
Today we’re focusing on the Geisha coffee grown here at the farm in Goleta, about an hour and a half north of Los Angeles. This variety originated in Ethiopia, but is now grown in many of the world’s tropical coffee-growing capitals, including Colombia.
So how does California’s crop hold up? Taste a cup with me and Jay and let us know what you think! Jay will provide valuable information on how to brew the perfect cup and bring out all the notes that the Geisha variety is so famous for.
