Gel electrophoresis is a method for separation of biomolecules. In agarose gel electrophoresis DNA and RNA is separated based on their size. Based on the size of the molecules in the sample, concentration of the gel varies. In gel electrophoresis, the smaller fragments travel faster and thus they will be farther from the well whereas the larger fragments will be close to the well.
