In this video I am making a collage with lace papers and gel printing over the top of that to get lovely patterns of color. You could also use a brush to get a similar effect or wet the paper and drop inks or watercolor over the collaged paper. I have added the links to various lace papers available on Amazon. You can also find them at most nice art stores.

If you use a fine brush dipped in water you can outline your shapes with the wet brush and then your lace paper will pull apart leaving the nice threads edge. Your pieces are really lovely. I had never thought of gel printing on the sheet after gluing the lace papers down. What a great idea.

I have used the water brush technique to tear handmade paper. I never thought to use it to tear shapes. Thanks for the idea I will try it.

Unique idea! Really enjoyed seeing these come together. Could you make use of the ones you didn't like by using them as texture stamps in another print?

Good idea. I am sure that would work.

These are so interesting. I think I liked the ones on black but the white was better. I can’t wait to see what else you do. I have some mulberry I might give it a try. Hugs ❤️❤️❤️

I think if I had used brighter or more intense colors on the black it would look better but I do like the white better too.

@@craftingareality6282 maybe a little metallic. I’m so fascinated with Chine Colle. It definitely has that look.

It mimics a technique in print making where you glue papers down to the surface of your print as you are running it through the press. It is called chine colle.

Sorry - I see that you already posted suggestions on where to get lace paper in your description, which I had not fully read before I posted!!!

I try to remember to post a supply list. I only get a few pennies if people order from the links but I know I hate watching a video and not knowing where to get the stuff to do it.
