i would like to add that you do not use acetone but actually use alcohol to clean up the smile line because these are gel soak off so if you use acetone u can be breaking down the base coat that you already applied.
Phi Le i use acetone all the time. my customer's nails never get cheap. small amount acetone cant be strong enough to break down the gel undercoat. even some case it will but the top will cover it for sure. some people prefer to use acetone as it define the line sharper n quicker than alcohol.

With the color that you chose on the base of the nail, this looks more like an American manicure instead of the French one. You did a pretty good job I'm impressed.
Nice video. This is one thing I love about LED Gel Polish. Once I have a cured clear coat, I can do a quick swipe of acetone to wipe away accent colors (or perfect French White lines), without it having any effect on the gel coats below. I've done this many times, and the manicure lasted 3 weeks! It did not break down the underlying coats. It makes sense, since to remove a gel manicure, you have to buff through the surface of the final clear coat, and then SOAK in acetone for 10 or 15 minutes, to get that gel polish to budge.

Wow, your nails are so beautiful-lol, they almost looked french manicured when you didn't have any polish on yet. I bet people assume all the time that you have some kind of extensions on them.

when you clean up the smile line always use alcohol. acetone removes gel polish :) so it will start to break it down. the skin is fine to use is if you choose.
Have you ever had an issue with what appears to be the top coat yellowing the tips of your franch manicure? I keep having it happen and cant get answers as to why. Thank you!
Are you feeling an unevenness when touching the finished nail with a french mani, considering that the free edge got two extra layers of gel and the rest of the nail doesn't?
No because the base is also gel. This was literally 7 years ago 💀 but if you're still here and replying to comments and stuff, it's just because the base was gel and already dryer I'm guessing.
arlene aguinaldo that's perfectly normal and each coat will stay sticky (although I wouldn't recommend touching them in between). The top coat will be sticky too until you wipe it with an alcohol pad.
for french when you do not want it to be clear and you would like a light color (kind of transparent white or pink) for base color , before you do the tips what color of gelish would you suggest??
