This is my FAVORITE video - even 2 years later. These combos make such unique marks. I am playing with my chalk paint, Patty's stain, and some sprays today. Can't wait to see what I come up with! 🙂
I just loved what you did with the Stainz. You are awesome and brilliant! I need to try and create some background for my journals. Thank you so much for featuring my product on your channel. Your amazing bless your heart dear friend.
I found you a few weeks ago through Woman Unleashed program and just loved your approach and it really resonated with me. I especially like that you share the work of other artists and provide us links to they. As you said, support other artists. There is enough room at the table for everyone.
Hi Robyn. After watching your initial video with Patty Pockets and distress stainz, I ordered ALL the bits! I let Patty know you'd sent me and that her product was about to travel all the way to Australia. Now that everything has arrived, I'm planning a long session this weekend. Thank you so much for sharing!
The Animal Print from these gorgeous stains are so beautiful! Thank you for introducing us to other artists and of course, fabulous art supplies. Always great learning information so we feel we already know the supply before we even get it:) Thank you Robyn!
Wow! Animal print! I absolutely LOVE this print! But as a geology major , the stone texture is absolutely the best! Off to see Patti’s Etsy shop. I have been following her for years! Thank you so much!!🧡🖤💛🧡🖤💛
Robyn!! Loved seeing another demo again using Patty Pockets products!! You have that hour long video in your list of videos where I am just saying Aww, so awesome the whole time!! You just never know what you are going to get!! have made many papers with the regular brown stanz, but so glad to see the new colors she has!! What a great product it is!! Thanks Robyn for this video, always enjoyable!! XO
Animal Print :) Another great video Robyn, love all these techniques you show us and inspire us to try new things. Can't wait to get my gelli plates out!
Ive done this with dylusions & distress spray stains on top of matte medium which prevents the beading- i tried pulling the print with regular & also with gesso’ed paper & they must have been THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PRINTS ive ever pulled!!! Also, they were SO DIFFERENT on regular vs gesso’ed paper!! The regular paper lifted exactly what was on the plate but the gesso’ed paper let the pigments move around & blend into each other, they were so different but both so beautiful!!
I tried it with PaperArtsy Fresco paint backgrounds and distress spray stains and Dylusions sprays on ordinary copy paper and I'm not getting the effect. I've got some Seth Apter Izinks on order and hope they work better. I tried it on matte medium and it didn't work for me. I also tried it with Golden tar gel which is gloopy like the Stainz and that didn't work. Shipping to the UK is so ridiculous that I can't get the Stainz. I am getting very frustrated with this!! Any suggestions would be most welcome!
I was going to ask you to demo this but you beat me to it. I was getting smaller stoning and wasn't getting the larger for animal prints. Now I see what I was doing wrong. Thanks and check out Patti's yellow and rose stains. Gorgeous!
I am starting to notice that some of the craft-grade products fade quicker than the artist grade. This is my second year of bookmaking, art journaling, and consistent collaging. I am ready to start gifting some of my work and want to make sure that the colors will stay vivid. I would love to take even a quick class on the topic of lightfastness in products we use in our projects. Thanks! 💖
I just love Seth Apter’s Izink sprays and I found out about them from you! Thanks so much, I can hardly wait to try this animal print/stoning technique.
Love this video, a shorter version of the original one. I have been struggling to get a good result. The shipping on the Stainz to the UK makes it ridiculous to even think of buying it and I would love to know if there is something else which would give the same effect. I even tried vanilla paste from the kitchen the other night, because it has almost the same consistency as the Stainz! It didn't work, of course! All I have got at the moment is Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stains and some PaperArtsy Fresco paints and I have yet to produce a single sheet which resembles what you are doing. I have ordered some Seth Apter Izinks today and hope they work. Any suggestions to help me to get this technique to work would be most welcome!!
Once again thank you Robyn. I can’t wait to get your new book. Do you think the Tim H Distress Oxide sprays would work the same as the Distress stains? The distress oxides are more available because they’re newer. But I know they are a different formula. Do you know or have an opinion?
Hi Robyn, I didn’t see in the notes the link to which printer you’re now using. Mine is obsolete. I thought your printer could accommodate thin Japanese paper, plastic transparencies as well as regular copy paper and even scan to decrease or increase the size of the original. Could you send me a link to this printer? (Ayako says hello😊) Thank you! 😘xo
