Hi guys I hope you’re doing well I have the whole front brake assembly for both sides if you want them and I might have the cover for the heater if you’re interested 👍👍don’t want any money for them
My dream car when I was a kid was a Gemini 2 door coupe. Looked like a mini Torana SS. The thing to do back then was drop in the 2.0 out of the jackaroo. Oh, and Gunk! Cheers boys, almost at 20k subscribers. You were at 2k when I subscribed!
I actually used Rodeo motors. Also an fjwp Nissan motor. But the Rodeo and jackeroo motors were pretty much the same as they were g200 Isuzu. I always thought that the Gem looked like a mini Torana as well.
Factory plug leads were black. Great looking little Gem. I had a coupe,a van and a bunch of sedans when I was young. I miss them heaps. Would you put a price on it when you finish it. Gunk
It's sad we have to live this long to have the right to comment "Bloody young fellas with points, NFI" . So worth it though!! Oi youngans, RTFM! Sorry(not really), re-reading the above I realise the Old Man rubbish is in FACT, well........Gunk!
A good rule to remember is always undo the filler before you drain oil so you know you can always fill back up.. love the vids guys cant wait to see where 'gunk' ends up
Good stuff fellas. Really keen to see you tidy this one up, especially when you tackle the rust repairs! Lots of gunk to clean up but it’s gonna look awesome once it’s done! 🎉
Yew... Always a good Thursday when you boys put up a vid. You could connect a fly by wire device on the summer/winter thingamy for optimum performance. 😆
GUNK…. New spooly boy for the Fairlane to go 9’s?? Had a TE Gemini Van the same colour when i was a young fella, full chrome engine bay on 13” Centreline wheels
My second car was a TD in Darwin. So the gunk on it was red... Mine was bored out to 1750 odd cc, had twin dual throat downdraught Webbers, a cam and extractors. Used to race it at the 19mile airstrip, no drag strip in 1982. Was a very quick car at the time. For interest, 205/60 tyres make it fun around corners.
Split pin in the caliper isn't that bad, 6cyl mk3 Cortina's had them from factory it's only to stop the pad from falling out. The caliper is machined to perfectly fit the pad in so there is no force on the split pin, but if it came with pins try and find one, put what was standard back in it.
It's surprising that you guys don't know anything about points ignition, simple system. 40 years ago I bought my first Gemini and as usual modified it. Today I still have a Gemini as a rally car highly modified with a rodeo. 2.6lt twin Webber's , 4link rear and more. But she's not GUNKY that comes with age and neglect. Cheers guys love the show especially the drag weekend.
Was rad meeting you guys at heathcote, but you can upgrade the points system to an electronic system by using a turbogem kit off ebay. But keep the content up dudes
I had that summer/winter switch in my old Gemini. Didn't understand what it did when I first got it. I found out what it does whe I went for a long drive to the coast and lost most of my power going up the mountain. Switched it to summer and then never used it again after that.
you need to buy a 200 ltr storage tub from bunnings ,the green/yellow and black ones not the clear ones, so you can shove all your loose boxes and shopping into them, it stops the boxes/bags from flying around the tub of the ute
those brake calipers are the same as hr, hk t g and austin 1800 most brake place will probably have new or used pins try power brakes in adelaide the guys there are always helpful
I Remember one of my old bosses had one of these, his wife would pick him up with two primaaid mountain dogs in the back, they are huge all you could see was fur in the rear windows
I owned more than 20 gemmys. The worst GUNK experience I have ever had was when a chick from uni power spewed in the front passenger seat. Shed been at a cheese and wine event. Filled her handbag which contained her house keys and I couldn't get her inside her home. I was a gentleman and put her to bed at my place. In the morning I had to face the cheesy spew carnage in my road rego'd rally spec TX coupe. Drove with my head out the window like Ace Ventura to the car wash. Had to knock out the floor plugs and power washed it while trying not to spew myself. The TX coupe lived on another couple of years until my mate bent it hitting a tree at speed in the Anglesea forest stage of our very own private rally series! FUN TIMES!!!
