I didn't download it. It just showed up when I went to use my Google Assistant which I didn't appreciate which means it's probably already on your phone. If you have a update device now whether or not it's active or how much access it has in a supposedly unactivated State. I don't know all I do know. Are the horror stories I've been reading? Anything you say do or research to the AI is stored for random people to have access to so "make sure you don't put any sensitive info in your searches or inputs" Which is all but impossible. Considering some apps literally require some of the most sensitive information for one reason or another

I've noticed that it makes me unlock the device every time i ask it something, which makes hand free usage pointless. also you can no longer ask it what time it is because it just responds telling me its not allowed to have access to my location.

Gemini can do a lot more. Google assistant can only do web searching instead of composing an answer..

@@watchameanitstaken there are but many people phones from 2020 2021 that only had 2 to 3 years of upgrades, including mine. Which is still a very good phone in today's standards but doesn't get major updates anymore
