Looks like the sights don't see over the can...getting high sights might help in accuracy... I can get 1" groups with my S&W M&P 2.0 silence ready pistol at 8 yards with a gemtech lunar .45 in full configuration....very quite btw! Love gemtech they are one of the original companies to make silencers and back in the day that what most seals used...great btw very informative!!
Many Gemtech cans were actually designed and manufactured for them by GSL Technology prior to 2016 when Gemtech was sold to Smith and Wesson.. GSL quietly makes cans that are marketed by others under their names. GSL doesn't believe in marketing hype, just performance and the president of the company not only holds 9 patents in suppressor designs, but has forgotten more about suppressors than most others in the field will ever know. Look them up, you will be impressed. As an aside, GSL has a program for LEOs and military and vets for a pretty healthy discount on their products. Additionally, they are working on a program (via the website) in which you can finance your suppressor while you are waiting ATF approval on your stamp. (I am rewriting the owners manuals for GSL, full disclosure...)
If you pull the suppressor away from the pistol while mounted with the piston you can rotate the suppressor and lock in the piston teeth at a different clock position and usually negate point of impact shift.
That's awesome, they made another one!, I agree the lunar does sound quieter than the gm. Pentium 2 processing computers won't have the 60fps RU-vid option, but with santa magic it possibly can! Lol
theres that internal extractor non railed p220 that i love! i had a 2tone p245 back when they were still in production and regretted selling it for about 10 years now. my first sig was a range gun p220 so it probably had a billion rounds through it but it sure was reliable! sold that too. to compensate for my foolish sales i purchased a 2002 production uspc 45. hope to get some cans one day myself. the uspc45 is very comfortable. i like it more than my old 245, but i think the grip may be nicer ergonomically on the p220 giving it the slight edge over the uspc. i know its not fair to compare a compact to a fullsize though. my buddy still has a p220r with short external extractor and frame made in germany. ive tried to talk him out of it so many times but he wont let it go! i dont blame him! when i thought i had my grail gun a p220st p220 mags were hard to find and i could only get the act mags for it. i forget if it had a rail....i really dont think it was the one with the weird shaped rail. traded that guy off for a gunsmithed up cz75b-sa with all the cajun gunworks goodies, g10 grips, owb k rounds kydex holster, dpm recoil system which i dont think actually helps HAHA its a damn good shooter and got me into cz's. that being said, i think cz's are still some of the best buys on the market. that p-09 is proof in itself! i have a pcr to go along with my 75b-sa and a decent supply of mags and thats the ONLY reason i dont own the p-07. if i didnt own a glock 19 and a ton of glock mags a p-07 would be fighting my pcr for carry time. just put some money down on a beretta m9a1 compact since i dont have a dedicated 226 9mm anymore. shes a little fat as is so im gonna try those wilson ulta thin cherry grips, probably do the d spring swap, and hopefully g conversion. i wanted the fullsize but i think ill actually carry the compact. got a few mags already but im going to buy a few more and the ergo grip extension..... oh so many guns, so little money lol
hi mayor as you know living in the UK we don't have access to firearm's as freely as you do in the state's,but when you use a silencer like the one's demonstrated I think it makes the handguns look two big and cumbersome when maybe one day when I get to the state's I'll get to learn to shoot and find out for myself hopefully thanks for sharing
Another great video man. Both suppressors seem to be top notch and perfect for any handgun. Also noticed that box of Perfecta you were using. I'm glad you can find some. I haven't seen a box of .308 Perfecta in months.
Perfecta is some good ammo and glad you had good results as with it as well. Yeah I will have to look into a Gemtech suppressor for my M1A. Do they come in 30 cal too?
LoL, yeah I own a blackside and GM45, TBH they both sound good and the GM is very lightweight. If you want you can add water, and it will be as quiet as anything else with water. YMMV Mayor Fuglycool
audio equipment and sensors on phones and video cameras do a very lousy job of recording the sounds of gunshots, suppressed or otherwise. Cans have to be understood both in terms of dB reduction and the FREQUENCY of the sound waves coming out of the cans. Some cans with higher frequency sounds and the same dB reductions as other cans with lower frequency sounds, actually sound significantly different and most people prefer the lower frequencies. Audio recording equipment does not do justice to these differences.
The Gemtech performance from the Lunar 45 is average at best. It seems to offer the about the same performance as a KAC USP45-T suppressor. Only the Lunar 45 looks ridiculously long on the end of any pistol. When it is shot short it is about 142-144dB which is not hearing safe at all. I think I’m going to get a KAC USP suppressor. It’s only 7.5” long and offers 137dB when shot dry. Gemtech seems to be on the loud side with there cans.
