U.S. Grant Cottage, a national historic landmark, held a fundraising gala in Saratoga Springs, NY in the fall of 2022 to mark the 200th birthday of the 18th president and the man who won the Civil War for the Union army. General Grant died in a the summer of 1885 in a Cottage in Saratoga County after completing his military memoirs. General Patraeus has become somewhat of a Grant scholar himself and as a West Point graduate studied his six-star predecessor.
