Same my grandpa's dad went into WW2, btw I'm finnish and he helped Finland and he survived but after the war he was every fucking night like with his shotgun out because he thought the war was still on.
the fact its heart breaking to know eventually theres gona be only 1 ww2 soldier left in hes gonna suffer the worst pain possible knowing all of the heros in his freinds are all dead r.i.p for all the ww2 soldiers that fought. 🕊️🕊️
What a contradictory statement. Had they saved the world, it wouldn't had been in this state it is today. Fact is, he defeated our saviours and paved the way for the current state of the world we find ourselves in today.
@@deinvater5427oh, so you're speaking from experience, I assume. Tell me, how was it to be in a war and fight for your life and country? To fight for your life every single day against people who threatened the entire world?
Today is the 80th anniversary of D Day . Being a German I respect all are heroes who died on that beach that day. RIP Normandy Heroes 🇩🇪🎖️🇫🇷🎖️🇺🇸🎖️🇬🇧🎖️🇨🇦
I’m American I respect everyone who died on that battle field because my great grandfather was there fighting.I forgive anyone good or bad you have a second chance
There were German Heros in WW2 that died as well. I forget the man's name but he helped Chinese civilians during the grape of Nanking. He was a Nazi and it shows a man is not his labels but his actions.
When people call me a hero. I direct their attention to a tattoo I got in honor of my best friend. He was killed in action. He was a hero. He left this world with a wife and a baby girl he only got to see for a few weeks before he had to go back to Afghanistan. She will never know how good of a man her daddy really was.
You can hear the pain, the memories, and the laughter around a fox hole in his voice. You are a hero soldier. You saw the devils face and lived to tell about it.
But he was? So much of the reason of survival was luck. I would not call it humble but more like honesty. Imagine bragging about how his skills made him survive knowing it’s mostly about luck.
Tbh he didnt, europe has more terror attackings than any other world part imagine to have. If germany won, this would be the safest place of the world..... but nope 50/50 tomorrow illl get killed by muzlims visiting the church, so thats why im not going.............

There's a beautiful word on a graveyard of WW2 written by the Britisher in our town. " When you go home tell them of us and say, for your tomorrow we gave our today ." My town was a battle field earlier between Japanese and British Indian . Indeed many Japanese and English come visit the battle of khonoma grave yard , and they just shed their tears give a last salute to thier left comrades and leave with some donation for the yard maintenance.
You are, indeed, a hero ,sir. To all the allied soldiers and sailors of WW2, you saved countless millions from tyranny. We are indebted to you forever.
@@TerminusEdenThe terms of the World War 1 peace left Germany in an economic bad way. And it only went downhill as the depression came. This poor economic climate, and the hardships that places on the German people left a climate where someone like Hitler was able to rise to power. He said he was lucky too. This is how you know someone has truly seen combat. The fate of the battle is not based on only skill, but a great measure of luck.
@@ariyanzarif5650 what do you mean? Men where forced to fight in ww2 or face hard labour prison. Even in ww1 refusal to run into machine gun fire was met with a bullet to the head for cowardice. He didn't want to be considered a hero because he wanted to honor his colleagues who died on the battlefield, but we can consider him (a living legend) as a true knight or warrior.❤️
He said that only cause the fact that he survived is the proof of what surviving at a war is a reward price, the one of them Who can’t have the same luck as him needs to be remembered.
No, he's literally trying to make the point, that just because he survived, doesn't mean you can assume he's some legend or hero... so stop trying to tell him he is wrong and thrust theses title onto him... he knows what a real hero is, and he is trying to get that point across. Agreed, these men fought only for the next few generations to end up like this. And we threw all at their faces. All the honor and the fighting and the bloodshed all for it to end up like this. This is not what they fought for.

My grandfather who passed away in 2009 was on the beaches of Normandy 3rd wave. He was fortunate enough to survive. He went on to fight in the Battle of the Bulge as well and was going to be shipped to the Pacific Theater after that. He took shrapnel from a grenade and was sent back home to his loving wife, who is 95 years old and still kicking. Rest In Peace Grandpa, I love you
Between Battle of Bulge, Battle of Stalingrad and Battle of Kursk I don’t which one was worse or how I would even rank those 3 crucial battles. Because if the Germans won even just 1 of those battles the War would’ve gone on even longer and with any luck they could’ve won. People talk about ice in their veins after hitting a clutch shot or doing the impossible……..these men had iceberg type of ICE in their veins and they would move mountains or die trying. Much respect to you and the family!
