Even after only one season, I would be inclined to agree. Gen V was as faithful to The Boys as it gets, whilst also feeling fresh and it's own thing. I was initially reluctant to even watch it, but those concerns were put to rest immediately.....especially during the first few minutes where Marie's powers awaken.

Chance Perdomo (Andre) [RIP] and Jaz Sinclair (Marie) have worked together before on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (Netflix) which I highly recommend. It's a great show with a great cast.

All of the students at God U have extremely traumatized backstories. Then there are the adults; however, that's because this is a The Boys spinoff.

Why would he be able to unlock a finger print lock with his power? Messed up by Marie to not tell the truth... why wouldn't she, especially after the sister thing. Also doesn't make sense for Cate to make such an advanced command to help him.
