@@izzybitsyspider03 yeah it reminds me of the scumbag steve meme and i think that pic is from like 2006 lol. damn now i know how annoying we were as kids, thinking we created every trend 😂
In South Africa and other African countries, names like Talent, Gift, Blessing and the likes are common. It's almost like direct translations of their traditional (native language) names. The meaning is usually very important to them and quite significant, relating to their birth, for example.
Im from DR Congo ,i have cousin name "pensé" that can be translate to english thinking" I have a friend name "bolumbu "that can be translate to english as "nudity"😂
Sarah Zanotti is VERY funny! I can only think of four female comedians that are consistently funny and she is one of them. Tina Fey, Mallory Everton, and Jetta Juriansz are the other three. See them on RU-vid. Tina Fey isn't always clean with her jokes, but the other two are. The second word I would use to describe them after hilarious is brilliant. Those two things must the killer combo. I mean that figuratively.
@Rose Fisher My former co-worker named her first daughter, Nevaeh, this was when it became popular about fifteen years ago, at least that's the first time I heard it.
@@lavender9671 Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication as a teacher. We have a real problem in our schools today that is so abundantly growing clearer and clearer each day and it is : ......actually too complex and veryy hard to even go thru with the weird 'plot twist comment' I was originally going for lol. I will instead be using a normal tone and drop the gimmicks on this one because in all earnestness: you are an absolutely integral element in our 'society' (please don't take this as disrespect our society is at that age apparently where it will not listen and infact is starting to feel like it's just f'in w you and the whole balance of reality for fun and it's parents be like "HMMM well if Society doesn't make it then YOU must be the problem *picks up Society late, doesn't pay you back for the entire time or resources that it's been expecting you to just give away yet is eemingly "conditioned" to be fine with lettin you go without* DAMNIT the tortured metaphor is worse than the 1st omg I'm sorry for all of the time I have now realized I have been taking from you too! TL;DR: i am so very grateful and humbled to be "co-parenting with the government" or as the majority of people might call it, "the proud and humbled parent/caretaker/siblings/witness of a child who will be, is currently and/or have been massively impacted by a great teacher or 3 and will never take yall for granted again". Welp I meant say THANK YOUUUU but then all thia happened lol sorry. Truly though: blessings and good vibes and FAIRER FUTURE to you and all of your fellow educator friends. Signed, Random mom in Rare Form, USA tonight lol
Definitely have a female Christian friend named Jezebel! She is the kindest person but not sure what her parent’s were thinking. Goes on the list of biblical names you shouldn’t name your kids ever like Judas or Lucifer.
When I was pretty little, I'd read Bible stories with my mom and one day we got to the story of Elijah and Queen Jezebel. I go, "Wow! Her name is so pretty! And she's royalty? That's so cool!" and then my mom explained 😂
Gen X here with three sons that have bible names. The first one is named after my now-ex-husband, Paul. Middle child is Bartholomew (mainly because our last name was Mann and we’re huge Simpsons fans). Last one is Josiah. P, B, & J 🤦♀️
I know a family who named their daughter Daily Faith. And their son Able Helper. Edit: someone reminded me in these comments, but Daily and Able also have a sibling named Ponder Truth
I mean, Gen Z baby names are just the new Victorian era baby names: how about we bring back Pleasant Unthank, Vestil Coffin, and Euthanasia Meade. I'm just saying it could be a whole lot worse 🤣
The administrative assistant at my son's small Christian school had four sons: Matthew, Mark, and the twins Luke and John were in my son's class. He always signed papers for the office as being from "Acts, your 5th son."
Older folks in my community, now all passed away: Dorkus Koon Bennett (Dorkus is a Bible name!) Zur Leonard (has a road named after him) Dorkus Irene Bennett (went by Aunt Shatty) Can't make this up. Thank you North Carolina.
John has great chemistry with this woman in every video they do! He should provide links to her social media channels in the videos that feature her (in his details section) so viewers may check out her work as well. C'mon John... shine a little light on your well deserving and talented co-star! (and no, I'm not related to her...honest)
Long ago my late husband and I were at a younger couples home, and they announced if it was a boy he'd be Forrest because dad was a Forrester...my husband was so stunned he said if it is a girl is her name Bush? (This was pre forest Gump era). We were never invited back. But it was unusual in a time of Mike mark Jacob and Brandon's.
@@joywebster2678 yeah I was Gem, when all my friends were Amandas and Ashleys. Back then "Your name is soooo weird! What are your parents hippies?" (Yes) Now no one even blinks.
Love your videos lol Wife is so beautiful!! Lol God usually names my babies randomly out of no where. Lol God landed my daughter’s name on me randomly and the meaning was extremely relevant. I had had an abortion previously and never felt forgiven/had no idea… I was distraught for years. Finally got pregnant again then the Holy Spirit just said “Eliana” I had never heard it before in my entire life……. Never. It means my God has answered me. That was my special affirmation from Him that yes I really was forgiven. And she has always been a voice from above. God regularly speaks through her. Even just responses to my thoughts. Immense blessing. Now I’m pregnant again. And he’s already given me the name. I won’t say it here because it’s a surprise for my husband, but it means “God is gracious.” So I’m very excited for this baby to be a walking example of divine grace. I’m so so so excited to learn from this baby. So I love your video. But I’m curious to know what God would choose as the name lol 🎁♥️🎁♥️🎁♥️
Oh my gosh this was hilarious! My favorite video of yours! 🤣 “That’s in the NT, way this way.” My ex actually wanted us to name our daughter Delilah - I worked as a Children’s Pastor at the time. 🤦🏻♀️ We went with Hannah. 🤣
I live in Anabaptist country (rural Montana) and they seem to like the lesser known Old Testament names a lot. If you never thought names like "Boaz", "Abinadab", "Eliab" etc. would ever be seen outside the pages of the Bible visit an area with a lot of Amish and Amish Lite ( Mennonite ) people living there.
Not always, my sister and her husband are a Christian couple, they had their first daughter ten years after they got married, now they have four daughter's. They just weren't ready and had full time jobs and my sister studied at the Art Institute in Atlanta, and they both traveled abroad a few times, then they were ready.. four daughters, under the age of 10. My heart goes out to her! Lol 😉
@@JMarieCAlove I get what your saying, not all couples start having kids rights of the bat. So amazing! You’re so lucky to have such a great family! God bless🥰
Bible names that would likely not be good choices for a variety of reasons: Herod, Judas, Pilate, Lot (had a wife that got into a salty situation) Nebucanedzzar (I would sure hate to have to spell that for everyone). And as much as I like the names and the stories of Elijah and Elisha having identical twins with those names could be problematic.
LOL Lots wife got herself into a salty situation. That's the most underrated comment ever 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I don't think a lot of people know that story these days or they wouldn't live the way they are.
I think this is so true for so many couples. I have a couple names planned out for any future kids that I may have, but as a society we have become obsessed with naming our babies with these outrageous names. Instead we need to pray to God and the Holy Spirit will touch us and provide us with the perfect name. I can guarantee it’s not gonna be “branch” or “gracenataliesue” all one word. 😂
Sooo funny! Tons of the names are in one way or another acceptable Hebrew names in Israel: Mor (Myrrh) is kinda popular; ilan (Tree), Peleg (small river) and Amos (yoked, load) are legit, Telem, Jamimma and Zur are a bit rare but not weird, Malka (Queen) is mostly old but legit, Rakia (Heaven's firmament) is unique, but exists.
Our daughter wanted to know the romantic story of how we had come up with her name... It was the only one we couldn't come up with a bully name for! Lol! (Of course kids found one anyways but it took them until high school! HA!)
I was a teacher for many years... kids will bully you no matter HOW normal your name is. People put WAY too much thought into what a bully might turn their kid's name into. As long as it's not something really obvious like "Fanny," every kid out there has an equal chance of getting picked on. Even if it's not their name, it might be their appearance, clothes, way they talk, part of town they live in, way they pronounce certain words, etc. Do not let possible future bullies determine your child's name!
@@derekhandson351 Unfortunately, adoption is not easy and very expensive. I have tried both routes-- private adoption and fostering (to adopt). Both ended in failure.
@@fxjrulpzxi I feel your pain. I'm hoping it works out for you! We didn't get the kids we wanted, and it was harder than anything else I have ever experienced. But, in the end, my wife and I became closer due to everything.
Hahaha, I love this video! Although I'm a Millennial and an Atheist. My husband and I ironically picked four different Bible names for our first and second born boys. Caleb Elias, with Elias being a family name on my side and Mathayus Timothy, with Timothy being after both his father and an older half brother. We chose Mathayus because of the action movie The Scorpion King though, but my Christian grandfather pointed out that it's a Bible name (albeit an alternate spelling of the version in the Bible) and he loves it.
To be fair, it's kind of hard to avoid using Biblical names in countries with a strong Christian presence. Even if you haven't so much as flipped through the Bible you probably have 15 relatives that were all named after religious ancestors.
I’m running your book delete that right now on audible I love it! You are so talented I am such a fan! Please come to Dallas Texas and your stand up so I can come see yo live!!!
😂 Hahaha, gosh, that’s good! You’d have to carry them in one of those front baby backpacks! To make decisions, you’d just feed them and observe which one spits up first…
I know a Seraphina. Beautiful name and beautiful girl 😊 they call her Sara for short so there doesn’t need to be any explanation attached unless they/she wants to.
I like Ezra, too but my husband said it sounded like a girl name to him...so I said how about "Ezekiel" and he said maybe...but it turned out to be a moot point. We had a baby girl and we went with Alice.
My husband and I saw you at Anna like baptist church in Corpus Christi!!! Bought a couple “ain’t praying for that” shirts. But will pray for you two. You have such a great relationship and it shows!! Keep up the good work! Blessings!
Bwahahahaha, this is timeless comedy! Keep up the Good Lord's work, it absolutely loves the joy of comedy!!! Whatever name you ultimately choose will be the destined/fated name and will be absolutely perfect! Best wishes and congratulations to your expanding family!
We just named our son born this year Deacon. But Asa, Gilead, and Jeduthan were on the list. For a girl I dig Arimathea and Verily, as in "Verily I say unto thee". 😂😂 I'm a walking meme and I don't mind. Untapped name gold in those 66 books! 🤣🤣
My aunt, the youngest sister of my dads family, coined the name "Hadassah" which is Queen Esther's Hebrew name ("Esther" was her Persian name). She literally told her siblings, before they were married, that no one is to take the name Hadassah until she has a child. Now I have a new baby cousin... and you might be able to guess her name...
I actually love that name! Lol. But from a character in some books. Rough books. Lol. My brother and I both picked out Faith for girls and he had one first so he got it. 🤣🤣
Well, "Hadassah" doesn't really _mean_ "Esther" (the former is Hebrew for "myrtle tree" and the latter is Persian for "star"). "Hadassah" was just Esther's Hebrew name, with a separate meaning. It wasn't uncommon for Jews in the Diaspora to have Hebrew names and foreign names. Paul (also born in the Diaspora) was also known by his Hebrew name "Saul", which, like "Hadassah" to "Esther", isn't related to his other name "Paul".
