Jump in and give this band a deep, deep listen. This is a different level of music. It's just a step above the rest. Enjoy the journey. As for recomedations? I think the Pneuma Danny Carey Drum cam video would be in order. It's impressive to see what it is he does. It's easy to lose the technicality in the beauty of the music. That video puts the tech into perspective. It's also a great song to teach you not to try to count the beats and fit the music to a mold. Just listen and take it in. Spiral out

Grew up listening to Tool and APC, my late father was a huge fan of them. Happy to see others find them and see the beauty in the works of the band. Some of the best music out came from this band. The deeper meanings I've gotten for these songs after 20+ years... happy to have you aboard with us!

Tool could be listened to from their first album or EP. You get the raw early sound of Tool and would appreciate an understanding of where they came from (1990's) to what they're doing 30 years later. Undertow is their first album. Just press play and take off.🌀

Tool is Pink Floyd with electric guitars, and the best drummer in the world Check out No Quarter ( Zeppelin Cover) Also when you said no hearing the bass that much anymore, you said it literally as a bass solo was happening, hard to tell less you see them live who’s actually doing the solo

I have seen other people read that it is about government and religion.. It isn't really. It is about hypocrisy, so religion can get lumped in. But it is specifically about the hypocrisy of the courts convicting people on drug offenses when the judge, lawyers and jury are all also guilty of smoking weed at some point as well.

Funny that right when you mention that you weren't really hearing the bass anymore was actually the beginning of a bass "solo". The rhythm was being played by Adam and Justin was playing that heavily distorted wailing solo bit.
