I think the "I'm not supposed to be here" Is a reference to his rough life. He was literally left in a dumpster to die by his "friends" after an overdose. He has struggled throughout his life with depression and suicide on a few ocassions. Extremely powerful lyrics. This entire album is a masterclass.
Its great to see drummers get the credit they deserve. Especially slipknots drummers and even more Joey Jordison in this song. This guy was a genius behind the drumms. His passion and talent may never be forgotten
Corey said this song was about a bully he dealt with as a kid. If you’re gonna do Slipknot live you have to do it through the Live London show in 2002. It was Slipknot at their rawest!
You should def check out this song live in London 2002. Where your thumbnail pic is from. Its from their live concert DVD entitled Disasterpieces. Was Slipknot in their prime. Their Iowa album is like the heaviest album ever by any band.
The galloping is a double bass drum (two pedals, both feet, its bloody hard!) - drummer was Joey Jordisson RIP 2021, left the band in 2013 9 in the band (usually!) If you like it, other songs from this early era Eyeless, SIC, Heretic Anthem, People = Shit (in fact anything off Self Titled or IOWA!) A lot of reactors watch their live 2009 Spit It Out from Download (UK) - 80k people in a field, closing number, wont spoil it for you Newer stuff (2019>) to enjoy Unsainted, Nero Forte, Solway Firth, Dying Song For something different from them Snuff, Yen, Vermillion Some of the lyrics and tone is quite disturbing!
If you're looking for softer stuff from slipknot, i'd recommend something like Snuff or Vermillion, and Vermillion Pt. 2 :) Gehenna and Gently are also great.
Not sure what other Slipknot Songs you've reacted too yet, but considering lyrically this one might be the hardest to listen to, that first line gets everyone. I'd say that your going to enjoy just about any other song. Another one of my favorites lyrically is Pulse of the Maggots. FYI, Slipknot refers to their fans, affectionately as Maggots. It's not the deepest Lyrically, but I think it helps you get an understanding of what slipknot is or was about.
@@RQG-REACTS of course dude. i just found your channel like a week ago and i haven't been disappointed yet. for People = Shit and My Plague, i'd definitely watch the live performance. better than the music videos by far, and i don't think People = Shit has an official music video
@@RQG-REACTS whelp, some songs to check out that will also get you some views. Lorna Shore - To the Hellfire Pantera - Domination (live from Moscow) Slipknot - Spit it Out (live Download 2009) Lamb of God - Walk with me in Hell Slayer - Raining Blood Metallica - Creeping Death (live in Moscow) Lorna Shore - Pain Remains (all 3 songs, music video AND lyrics) Tool - 46&2 Jinjer - Pisces All of these are great songs, great for opening up to all kinds of new journeys, and all will trigger metal heads algorithms to check you out. There's dozens of others, but this will get you on track. I'll be following to see these
"Infinite finite." That's another way of saying beyind nothing or below nothing. The only reason you would say that to a bully is to imply that you have "nothing" to lose, and you know what they say about people with nothing to lose. Just my interpretation.
Infinite finite was also nickname Corey had for himself as Number 8. (even has it tattooed on his back) Much like how Sid always called himself "filth and pygamy number 0".
