Safariland ALS Model 6390RDS-6832 that works with the Aimpoint mounted Glock 34 and Surefire X300U. See more content like this on patreon.com/presscheckconsulting
Thanks for the confirmation. I've had a 6390 for a while but recently have been trying to finish up a G34 build and really would like to use the P1. This was the only factor holding back my decision, the question of rather it fit my go-to and favorite duty holster.
Seems so many people don't notice the other holes for the optic cover... you can move it to those 2nd set of holes, and it will cover the ACRO just fine!
Thanks for the information, maybe Safariland can get with the program and offer a different optic cover for their holster? I’m really enjoying my ACRO P-1 so far in an HK VP9, been working the B8’s need to get into your No Fail Pistol class once I get my presentation with a dot cleaned up. So far practical accuracy potential with the RDS is very encouraging, keeping everything in the 9 ring or better at 25 yards is not an issue in slow fire. My days of competition bullseye shooting continue to pay off a little. Now to work on turning up the pace...
As posted, Safariland has new TS7 duty type rigs for rear optics that will be released around March 2020. See the website for updates. The TS7 holsters are decent but I dislike SL's poorly designed belt loop attachment. Most cops, range shooters, CCW users have thick, lined belts. The polymer belt loop(rear) is not ideal for serious gun belts.
To my knowledge, Safariland is rolling out new TS7 format duty holsters with RDS(rear optic) designs. They should be at retail locations, 🇺🇸 around 03-2020. I like the Aimpoint ACRO rear optic but the high price & 🔋 power issues turn me away for now.
Sage Dynamics does some in depth T&Es about the Aimpoint sights. He says the 🔋 is ehhh... also the front glass can be damaged with extreme abuse. The pistol did fire 1000s of 9x19mm FMJ, JHP with no major problems.
I have a gen-5 g34 with a Zev slide and the streamlight tlr HL and a Holosun 507c. What safariland holster would work for that? I have had a hell of a time trying to figure it out
Have you tried any other safariland als holsters with the gen 5 34 without the optic? I am looking at the 6378, but I don't know if it would fit, with the ambi slide stop.
Have you found that the thumb lever needs to be pushed farther back than on the non rds als holsters. I just got this one and it seems that I have a tendency to start to draw before the lock is disengaged. I’ve never had this problem with my non rds als holsters. When comparing mine it looks like the rds lever needs to be pushed back a little farther idk
I would say something flowery about the content of this video... but lets not kid ourselves. If you put out a video on proper toilet paper selection and application... I'd watch it... like... a few times.... and take notes. But I digress. You look better.... you sound better.... hell even the quality of the video seems better.
Can the rain cover be moved up into the 2 holes above its pivot points to fully cover the optic? In Safariland's video they use a level 3 and yours looks like a level 2 (no "strap" covering the back of the slide). Is that set of holes for the "strap" or for a different position for the optic hood?
