ALL these sex mutilations facilities should be SHUT DOWN immediately. This option should NOT be available to minors whatsoever! And even for adults, it should be heavily REGULATED with multiple levels of approval before it as the results are IRREVERSIBLE and devastating.

Kudos to these brave young people for speaking out after these tragic surgeries and damage from wrong-sex hormones.

The attitude of radical trans activists is strange and contradictory. When an individual declares themselves to be trans, they say, "Listen to the trans person. Their personal testimony is enough." But when an individual declares that they want to detransition, the knives come out. They say. "This person is confused! This person is a traitor! Don't listen to this person!". It seems obvious that radical trans activists are personally invested in their ideology, much like a religious zealot. Any disagreement with their orthodoxy is considered a heresy.

You can also be a normal person with mental health issues, it doesn't necessarily mean you want to transition. This surgery should not be done via the NHS this is a personal choice it's not a health issue. No one should be allowed surgery prior to at least five years mental health therapy, it's despicable how it's so easy to mutilate your body even when there's a possibility you are not even trans which is highly likely these days because it is a trend.

Free counseling (not affirmative) for people struggling with gender identity is much cheaper than surgeries and lawsuits. Ritchie and Keira are so brave and will help more people than they will probably ever know!

Keira and Richie are so brave for speaking out. Keira especially is an absolute star as she was a child when they started her transitioning. She is brilliant for speaking out. Very brave and keep going Keira. Keep going Richie. Stay strong, the majority of people support you.

We have to applaud these two young people speaking out. The landscape is toxic and I know they have both been subjected to endless abuse for opening up. If we have any chance of stopping this, we need all the detransitioners to come forward.

The NHS is not to blame. Those involved in the background need to be made accountable.

I'm shocked that these people were encouraged to transition quickly rather than receive counseling to resolve their problems.

These surgeries are dangerous and many mistakes can happen. The surgeon does not care, that’s why they have insurance. I am sad to see these young people go through this.

I have a huge amount of sympathy for these two and others going through the same situation. I think it's pure evil what is happening. People cannot change their sex or gender, it is impossible. It's a complete con and when the victim realises, it is irreversible.

I am so sorry that this happened to these poor, beautiful children. I hope that they get the help they need.

Ritchie and Keira are brave and intelligent and I wish them both well. Sadly, there will be many many more people with regrets because of the irresponsible way this issue has been dealt with by so-called professionals.

So let’s see, who pays for all of this. The physiatrists, the hormones, the surgery and ultimately the compensation. Let me guess. We, the tax payers do. It’s about time that the medical profession making these judgments are held to account. Their flippant use of taxpayers money without any consequences to themselves has to end to stop this sort of thing happening. Sue the doctors, not the NHS.

Keira touched on something near the end that rings so true and needs to be further examined and discussed and DEALT WITH. She mentioned how young girls going through puberty (and even prior to) are becoming increasingly aware of how females are objectified and want to "evade" this. In other words girls these days, especially those with access to the internet (which is the majority in western culture) see how objectified (sexualized, humiliated and demeaned) females are. Young girls want NO part of that. They don't want to been seen this way or have to deal with any of that crap. But they are forced to because it is the reality; it is the norm; it is socially acceptable. The last US president had an affair with a porn star and was caught on tape demeaning women, and he became president!? And could again! Pornography is violent and misogynistic and is considered more and more mainstream and acceptable. Children are exposed to it (at least soft-core) without a choice. If they're online, watch TV, movies, music videos, listen to top 40 mainstream radio. It's almost unavoidable for these poor kids today. Something has to change in the culture, soon. And as for the well-meaning parents whose daughters have become aware of how they are or are going to be objectified by society at large, well we can't turn back time, but we have to support our daughters and empower them and get them with therapy. This gender dysphoria phenom has exploded and it's no coincidence that internet access (smart phones, ipads etc) has too. As a mother, I blame myself for allowing my daughter to be online, for "respecting her privacy" and not taking every precaution possible to protect my daughter's childhood and innocence.

I can't believe the NHS is even offering this invasive surgery for any reason other than life saving reasons. There is no such thing as being 'trans' and it's not life threatening. It's poor mental health and delusional and it is the mind that needs to be treated NOT butchery of the body. I wish both Keira and Ritchie well. Unfortunately the NHS is opening itself up to future litigation due to this 'trans' non-sense.

We really need to be more accepting of feminine boys and masculine girls and androgynous kids and adults. I believe that homophobia and gender expectations have a big role in the recent increase in transitioning and gender dysphoria.

A good friend of mine had a daughter who was gay, who is now a son. When he was still a she, she went through a lot of trauma and mental and emotional problems, rape, abortion, anxiety, depression, eating disorder, suicide attempts, you name it. And suddenly (I would say in her quest for a solution) she saw the light: her gender was the source of all her problems and changing that would be the solution. And off she went for the clinic. And I could just see how my friend at first didn't believe a thing of the whole story but when psychologists and the lot started to support her daughter/son, my friend couldn't do else but support her daughter/son too. She was just trapped between her doubts and her wanting to be a loyal mother. She chose loyalty over her motherly intuition 😢 So she transitioned into a he, breasts removed and low and behold, HE is still as depressed as SHE was. Even a layman can understand that you cannot solve those mental issues with a gender transition 🤔

I have three Sisters, we were all tomboys and aloud to be, we were asserting our own strengths as girls, we all grew up and remained women as we were, allowing children to be themselves is paramount, whatever they feel they are should be embraced, after all if we believe what most children want to be when they grow up, we would all be Cowboys and Princess's!

Blame always seems to be passed, the doctors are just doing as there being told. Can hardly put the blame on them.

This money that is sued for should come personally from the doctors who signed off on this and did NOT do their jobs right, NOT the NHS which is already struggling and leaving people dying waiting for NON ELECTIVE SURGERY and treatments that are necessary. I admire detransitioners who are able and willing to speak out. I have seldom heard more comprehensive information on this subject than I have heard from every transitioner who speaks out. Each one of you appear grounded and balanced and extremely wise in your understanding of every part of this subject. Your courage is beautiful though it cannot be easy. Both of you are on your way to healing as much as you can and your emotional and spiritual side is so wonderful to witness. My admiration for both of you knows no limit. Keep the faith. And Scotland has passed the bill so you don't need a medical report for transitioning so how many parents will push young kids to have it done etc.

Deeply unhappy people and people in great pain of some form whether physical or mental, seek solutions and if those solutions are presented by people and professionals that they trust and look up to, they will go ahead. Human beings want to be able to trust and should be able to trust but this need to trust is being trampled on.

I first transed F to M in 1982. I was 30. I detransed in 1985, luckily had had no surgery so no big deal. We had to meet STRINGENT requirements to get on hormones let alone surgery. In the Nineties TRANSPEOPLE themselves began to demand hormones and surgery without any qualifications. Where we are now is a self inflicted wound by the trans community. I agree doctors shouldn’t have knuckled under but here’s a shocker: they like the money. Adults need to take responsibility for their choices! Kids under 18 is completely different that’s child abuse and the medical ‘professionals’ need to be held liable legally.
