Some parents are upset with new all-user bathrooms coming to Lakeridge Middle School. Grant High School has the same design and officials say its working.
Shimmer it’s not a great idea but it’s not the downfall of the country. The downfall will be greed, war, not caring for the rights of the poor. Your idea of the downfall is as sickening as if people would abuse the idea of locker rooms being coed.
@Astera Nightshade What is even worse is that the USA is trying to export their ideas to Uganda in order to hold the country back. They have done this to Brazil a lot lately too, which is why we have such an idiot as a president.
@@andrewbowenssylvanianfamilies Your "idiot president" is trying to prevent Brazil from falling even further down the abyss that communism and socialism brings. You need to get out more.
@@dr.emilschaffhausen4683 Oh, and could you elaborate on how Brazil is falling into an abyss of communism and socialism, and also what measures he has been taking to prevent this.
I like the idea that they are private. I don't like the idea that if someone decides to push someone into one of these, and enter and lock both inside? Know what I'm saying? Out of sight....
No you didn't, you lived in the time of late stage capitalism, where everything is so complicated that you need a lawyer just to understand the laws of your country and nothing can be direct and efficient.
I dont know why this whole gender neutral bathroom thing is an issue in the states. In my country gender neutral bathrooms are a normal thing, we have them all over the place and its been like that for years.
Well….because these news reporters act completely oblivious to the true situations at other schools and public places…..let me clarify a few things. Those bathrooms you showed aren’t what bathrooms are like in the rest of the country. That sink area was completely wide open for everyone to see….so attacks can’t happen without being noticed. The actual toilet area wasn’t just stalls….but separate little rooms with actual doors on them. No gaps anywhere. That’s not the bathrooms in the rest of the country where they are making them gender neutral. They are regular bathrooms….with a door in front blocking view of anything going on….they have regular stalls with gaps and at least 1 foot high gap on the bottom so anyone can look inside. The rest of the country isn’t changing the old bathroom design when they make them gender neutral….they are keeping old design and girls have already been assaulted in them. These people pushing this are completely oblivious to what is actually going on in other bathrooms around the country and seem to think they are all getting designed like this one that was shown…..they aren’t.
No they know what's going on entirely. They aren't missing anything. They just are phrasing it this way as they always do. Show the best and avoit the worst.
Attacks!? Gtfoh!! What about the kids in ghettos that get attacked EVERY DAY and see violence all round them. And we need to waste tax $ on tampons in boys bathrooms and these unisex rooms. Smfh
This should be the pinned comment. I’m, much to my surprise, okay with this particular set up (provided there’s good security to prevent multiple students going in at once). But this is more of a prototype test than a “we can do it too!” green light for the 99% of schools that lack such infrastructure or the funds to build it.
I like this idea, also it wouldnt hurt to have a camera in the hall way parts to keep a more sense of safety. The open space of two exits that connect to hallways is great. The one doors are for your own private room. So having cameras on the ends of the hallways exists would be great.
Dude, this is awesome! It’s big, completely closed off where you need it, and open where you want it. We need this in the malls next. (Literally 10 seconds later) I just saw the time stamp on this thing. This was 4 years ago. Why aren’t we doing this on a larger scale already!?
I personally think single stall, with its own sink bathroom is a great idea. I hated the girls bathroom with huge gaps in the doors. This is total privacy for kids and solve the transgender debate too.
I'd support making single-user bathrooms all gender neutral, but this seems like a step in the wrong direction. Girls should have the right to use an all-female bathroom if it's communal, especially in high school. Having boys always use a stall wastes a lot of water and adds more germs to the toilet seat that now has to be raised and lowered constantly. Keep the boys' and girls' bathrooms the way they are (or with better partitioning) and let all students use the one that most closely matches the gender with which they consistently identify.
Funny how you said “Girls should have the right to use a female only washroom So men don’t deserve a male only washroom ? No one’s taking away your dumb rights For now gender neutral washrooms will just be a choice. Gender neutral washrooms are better because they are cheaper for businesses and damn right simple
@@bobowiththedodo8155 I agree that gender-neutral is simpler for smaller venues that only need one or more single-person restroom(s). I don't think this is the case for larger venues like schools where communal restrooms are more efficient.
Part of the point is not letting groups of girls and boys pal around inside the closed restrooms. No more gossiping, no more touching up makeup, no more shenanigans.
can we have japanese style restrooms..I have a bad case of paruresis, and I am grateful for these gender neutral restrooms..so tired of stall gaps being so high that its fucking useless..Im speaking as an absolute CIS gendered male
Boys to need urines though. We can use a toilet just fine at home. It shouldn’t be a problem to use one in public plus having a wall door, and toilet paper is better anyways. It’s disgusting men don’t use toilet paper or wash their hands if they use a urine.
Me too because I hate the boys bathroom if I was able to use the girls bathroom I would but this is a better way too because that’s more comfortable than a single gender bathroom
Hmm I don’t notice any bins for sanitary pads in there. What if you get blood on your hands putting a tampon in before gym? Or have a period accident. Before as a girl you can just walk into the bathroom and be like “anyone got a tampon/pad?” No you have to be super discreet and corner a friend in private. Also forget using period cups. I notice they didn’t interview any girls who were uncomfortable with the decision.
@@bobowiththedodo8155 How about the fact that I, along with many other females, got bullied by boys in school and if they had have heard me ask that I would have never heard the end of it. Do you expect highschool boys to be mature about periods when a lot of adult men aren't?
@Jaylen King Yes, but if you have an accident having to go to a whole different bathroom on the other side on the school while attempting to hide your blood stains and embarrassment not to mention being potentially stopped by a teacher for not using the closest bathroom. NOT FUN. Besides if they consider this bathroom "successful" will they get rid of the other girl-only spaces? Crazier things have happened.
Have shared gender bathrooms in public stores and restaurants is one thing but in schools idk that’s scary makes it a lot more easier for sexual stuff to happen
Guys took a piss on the toilet seats at my school just to be funny even when there were urinals! It’s like come on guys I have to clean up your piss so I can take a dump!
im pretty sure women will feel uncomfortable, theres concequences for everything. if a 12 year old decides to go to the bathroom and a grown man is also there coincidently and there alone im pretty sure both will be very uncomfortable

MENS WOMENS AND GENDER NEUTRAL separate. That’s the only acceptable way to implement non specific restrooms. Let schools here in Florida try this shit. Never would fly.
These are completely private and have locking stalls, so I have no issue with it. They could actually help save lives in the event of an active shooter.
As a guy's perspective gender neutral public bathrooms would be a nightmare at least in the states. One advantage us men have is at public events we dont get stuck in a 1 mile line waiting to use the restroom. women on average take 2 to 4 times as long as men. Don't believe me go to any major sporting entertainment event. Women will Most likely will be standing in line 15 to 20 minutes as the men's line is in and out.
I’m sure the teenage girls feel really “liberated” when some dude walks in the stall next to them and drops a wolf biscuit that howls on the way out. 😂 Can you say awkward ...?
@@eevee1791 Because boys and girls are supposed to be separated. It's wrong for them to be together. Also, if you change it, the rate of sexual assault cases is gonna go up.
"We created these spaces based on input from our students after we brainwashed and shamed them to all agree that this is a good thing or they're transphobic."
Paper towels should not be school because students love to throw them on the floor and clog sinks that make them overflow, Students also love the flush paper towels down the toilets, hand dryers can prevent that.
Bruh I wouldn’t care if we had gender neutral bathrooms if my school had bathrooms like that. Mine have like a 1 meter gap from the bottom half of the door and the top half. You can literally see through the door gaps too💀 My school is like “everybody must have a 1000 MacBook, every classroom must have multiple whiteboards and tv’s the lockers must be automatically opened with chargers inside them, but we cant spend money on proper bathrooms so we’ll just put some plastic together.
I’m ok with it…. There’s no door for the entrance… no funny business… each toilet has its own door.. also no problems with trans kids.. since it’s for everyone
This is like a vip bathroom compared to my schools one, i hope my school gets a gender neutral bathroom because when i go to the women’s bathroom i just feel like an imposter in there and its also really awkward whith all the people in there having a chat

@STALLIONGOMEZ majority complaining about unisex bathrooms is irrelevant to you? You and the other 5 id..ots who gave you like are not ready for the real world. Also, this kind of places are gonna cause even more problems that the standar bathrooms, because not all of them are gonna be monitored, so anything can happen, and things have already happen in ither places with this kind of bathrooms.
I honestly don’t see a problem with this at all.. everyone takes a shit.... the no door thing is good now kids won’t play around in the bathroom anymore
Wow, there’s certainly a lot of focus on bathrooms going on. Society is already dumbing down at a fast rate. Education will be last on the list of responsibilities at school pretty soon. And do u remember how uncomfortable u were when u had to do a num.2 at school??? Man holding it for home were bad days!! Sometimes u couldn’t do it. Well add more uncomfortable kids to that list. No student is doing num 2 with the opposite sex next stall lol.
Honestly, I do not want this design man. Things were working how they already were, and I loved the urinals, which were quick and easy to use. Maybe just make 2 different gender bathrooms, and for the "gender identity" folks, they should use the single person bathroom. If they get rid of urinals, I'd have to sit on that disgusting seat which is sat on by every kid in the school. Also, kids can get infections, its bad.
I mean I only want a gender neutral bathroom at my school because as a trans man using the men’s bathroom is uncomfortable and kind of scary but using the women’s bathroom which is much more comfortable gets me weird looks and sometimes threats
@@bobowiththedodo8155 I didn’t have bottom surgery and I don’t plan on having bottom surgery so it gets very uncomfortable very fast unless I’m alone in the bathroom, then it’s fine but if people are there it’s just weird because at any moment I could literally get hate crimed and harassed for being trans because it’s happened to lots of people I know before
If you're born a boy, then you go into the boys bathroom & vise versa. Anymore this is all just a game to see who will comply with demands & then see who can cry the loudest when they are denied. Life isn't fair, deal with it.
@Faye If it's a gender natural bathroom then duh, it's clearly meant for both male & female per the sign. That's not even an argument & I know you know exactly what I'm talking about. Take a step back 😒
@Astera Nightshade they born as a male but they never transition to a female, surgery doesn't turn you in the opposite s.ex, this is something basic you should know buddy, just because they cut your dingaling, doesn't mean you will get pregnant now, its impossible to do at least in this point in time. But thats not the problem here, they will use the female bathroom in this case, the biggest problem comes when a person that doesn't identify as one or the other will have troubles. But why is this a problem in the first place? Idk, is something amwricans are dealing with now for some reason, after all that people is part of a very small minority that never had an actual problem with bathrooms, all the time someone brings the problem is someone that is not trans or non-binary at all, so it shows me that this is pure propaganda
Bruh - this is dope af. And the smart thing to do is keep the common area open so no one would be able to do anything they aren’t supposed to do to the other students.
But then have NO problem with EVERY OTHER BUILDING that has MEN...WOMEN and some malls have FAMILY bathrooms for situations like a dad taking his kids to mall but HE CAN'T quite go in the bathroom with his toddler daughter etc. So make it make sense. @@SmartrMelons Yeah, I kinda gathered that. But since the only opposite gender interaction in the subject facility is the hand-washing area, please explain the "overbearing" factor.

@@SmartrMelons I'm sorry. For some strange reason I thought you were referring to the physical layout of the facility when you talked about being overbearing.
