I’m having a second boy and we’re just having a small “sprinkle” for close fam and friends to come over and celebrate me and the baby! I’m not really asking for much cause we pretty much have everything, just more about celebrating! Especially if you didn’t have a baby shower the first time, might be fun to experience just once ☺️
I love this fresh and positive perspective on having two boys. I have a boy currently and though I am not expecting currently can see having a 2nd boy in the future to complete our family. I can relate to the pros and cons you listed and wish you all the best during your pregnancy.
Absolutely still have a baby shower! Even just to have family and friends together to celebrate makes it so worth it. You can always get crafty with ideas like diapers, wipes, custom onesies, etc.
Agreed! Even if you don't need gifts, you can still have a "baby celebration" party or a "sprinkle" where you still get to celebrate your pregnancy with your family and friends. I had a virtual shower for my 2020 baby and I hope to have some sort of in-person celebration for a future baby #2 to get that full baby shower experience (minus the gifts), even if I don't call it a "shower" :)
Plus babies are different and this one may prefer a different swaddle type, bottle style etc. From what Peter used so it's always nice to have an assortment!
My daughter was born April 2020 - her shower was supposed to be March 2020 so everything was cancelled very last minute and I never did anything virtual even bc I was just too upset 😔 pregnant with #2 now and I'm going all out regardless of the sex!
CONGRATS!! 💙💙 I have two boys ages 3 and 5 and it is absolutely amazing! Of course there are rough patches but we LOVE having the two brothers. They play so well together( for being boys lol) and it warms my heart. We need great men in this world and you Jacob are amazing parents for that. I also loved how you shared your feelings about both genders in the beginning of the video. And Jacob is right about the energy that little boys bring (as I’m sure you already see in Peter) and extra spackling needed hahah. All that to be said, we do have a one year old daughter now too and feel so grateful. God knows exactly what you need and in time always gives us the desires of our hearts!! Congrats again💙💙

I'm so glad to hear about your perspective on having a boy. I'm a total boy mom myself and it does seem like a lot of expressions of gender disappointment come from having a boy instead of a girl, and that's a little sad to me. Boys are wonderful, too!
We are expecting our second girl and it was exactly the emotions I thought I’d have. 99% excitement and that 1% of bittersweet for the boy we won’t have. Congrats! 🎉

I did both as well. Sneak peak and nipt testing. Somehow I was still on edge when I went to my 20 week anatomy scan. Both turned out to be correct for us. This is our first boy after 3 beautiful girls.

Aww so sweet! Their relationship with each other is going to be so fun. 😊 I have an 18-month old girl and am due with a baby boy in April. I'm excited to experience both genders, but I do wonder what their relationship will be like as they get older. And you should TOTALLY have a baby shower! Every baby/life is worth celebrating (& especially since you didn't get to have one the first time around)!
Congrats on your new child! I was hoping for you to get a daughter this time, but I think you will be happy anyway. I believe there could be a slight genetic factor on frequency of the gender (ie gender hormone levels of the partner etc). My wife and I were hoping for a boy, but got a girl, and love her just the same.
Congrats on baby #2! I felt like people were more excited about all of the boy announcements when I was pregnant with my first (a girl). Part of me now wonders if it was just all in my head 😂

Congratulations!!! Mom of 3 boys here (8,4,1)- Totally understand the extra excitement there seems to be surrounded around girls and having boys is just as much of a blessing and fun! I was dreading announcing we were having a 3rd boy but everyone was still excited for his arrival. Brothers do have such a special bond that is amazing to see 💙 And I would still have a baby shower! You can just ask for diapers/wipes/diaper pail refills/bottles and other little things you'll need.
Congratulations! I know you said no baby shower, but consider having a sprinkle just to celebrate you and baby! No gifts maybe, but games would be fun and getting together with family is so important... especially now with covid and being away from them for so long. Congrats again... love you guys!
Yay!!! Congratulations! I have 2 boys... and 2 girls. Boys are so precious! They are a joy to raise. My boys are now 22 and 14 and are best friends, they are kind, helpful, respectful, loving and love their mom! 💙 My girls are lovely too but are much more difficult to raise! 😆

Watching this video late. Just came across your channel, but I just wanted to say I understand your feelings with having boys. My first three were boys and when I was pregnant with my 4th which ended up being a girl, everyone thought we must have been trying for a girl. LOL! Truth is I love my sons. We currently have 6 boys and 3 girls and are expecting baby #10 Spring of 2023. I am just about to take the Sneak Peek test and was looking for a how to video; hence my coming across your channel! Came from the last video of doing the gender test and congratulating on your baby boy !!!! I’m 15 weeks and 6 days today . Haven’t found out my rainbow baby also my first baby gender yet was thinking about the test you had taken cause my doctor did my test twice and still hasn’t found the gender of my baby . One of the nurses who called me to tell me I would have to get another blood test done after I get back from vacation said maybe it’s cause of my weight . I’m sure that’s not the problem I know women’s 250+ and they find it fast but I’ll just wait . Love your video 💕💕
Absolutely have a baby shower! We were also robbed of a baby shower bc of the pandemic and we fully intend to have one of our next baby is the same gender…you can do a sprinkle congrats!!!

Congratulations! It will be so cute to see them together. My brother and SIL have two boys about 2.5 years apart. It's so sweet. You can totally have a baby shower still. My friends offered to throw me one before we knew that baby #2 is a girl because they wanted to me get the experience since it was cancelled last time. It can be a celebration and time of prayer! The prayer time was so special, my favorite part of the shower, and that would have been no different if this was another boy.

Have a Sprinkle! I had my son in June 2020 who is now 18 months and now 15 weeks pregnant with my second baby that's also a boy. I LOVE being a boy mama 💙. I didn't get to have a shower either due to Covid but maybe have a Sprinkle where you can get together to celebrate you and baby. Congratulations!!

Currently expecting my second boy as well and the first thing a lot of people said was oh you're definitely going to try for a girl. People really do get more excited for girls but I'm so excited to have another boy and people were just making me feel bad for being excited. Congrats on Baby #2!
I agree with having a baby shower! Especially if you never had one. You can even tell everyone they don’t have to bring a gift, but if they want to, bring diapers or wipes! You’re gona need those ☺️ baby & mama deserve to be celebrated no matter how many you have! Congratulations girl! ❤️❤️
Congratulations! I have 2 boys and I'm pregnant with my third and every woman that I have told has immediately said that they hope this one is a girl which is annoying, so I definitely feel you when you say people seem to be more excited about girls than boys. Having 2 boys has been wild, but they definitely love each other so much.
I can say that people were excited when I had my son, but more excited when I had my daughter. I thought it was weird honestly, like they are both just as important no matter there gender. But have a little family get together or something to celebrate baby, it doesn’t have to be about gifts but you should definitely experience something this time around!
I found that people just generally aren't as excited for second babies, regardless of gender. You might feel that it's because it's the same gender, but it's not. It just it what it is. A first baby is exciting, new, the beginning of a family, all the things. Also, although gender seems a big deal when your family is so young and you're still having babies, it really isn't as much of a deal as they get older. You'll see! It's easy to get swept up in it while they are babies/toddlers. but honestly once out of that stage of life and into school years for example, it really is a thing of the past and everyone is happy with their lot. You say you are excited for another boy, but watching your gender reveal I can't help but think your reaction would have been totally different if you were having a girl, and you told yourself you were having a boy so that you wouldn't be disappointed if that's what it turned out to be. I just want to reassure you that in the larger scale of things it really doesn't matter!!! Mine are in school now and all the talk of babies/genders/cute clothes is all a thing of the past. There are much bigger fish to fry. Wishing you blessings.
