I received my generator today (this exact one) and when I pulled the dipstick out, there was oil on it before I even poured any in. Do they send it with a little bit already in there? The box was brand new from Amazon, so I’m not sure why there was oil already in there. I poured in the bottle of oil it came with and all of it fit in it. 🤷♂️
It's very possible they primed it with some oil. Either just to be safe or because they tested that unit for Quality Assurance. Sounds like there wasn't too much in the inverter if all the oil it came with fit in there too.
One of the guys in my town bought a camp property that had a bunch of generators I got this one and a different one for the time of adjusting carb and new spark plug in the other
Do not buy generac portable generators. I've ran them for years. I am an authorized seller of their portable generators and parts. After years of sales we had a local warranty and getting the warranty has been hassle. Bad inverter on a gp3300i out of the box. China knock off generators have better customer support and don't run 900 dollars. If you want a good generator that has proper support buy a Honda eu series. Generac is a joke. For 22 years I've been in the outdoor power equipment industry and never found a company this bad, they make Popeyes look like Chick-fil-A.
Hi dohcdelsol93, I hear that you haven't had a great experience. From what I've noticed, Generac has been awesome with their response times and this inverter is really amazing! We've also noticed the price to power output ratio on Generac's inverters have surpassed Honda's. I appreciate you weighing in on the conversation but given my positive experience with Generac I don't want any watchers/readers thinking Generac is simply a bad choice because they aren't! Sadly it sounds like you haven't had a good experience though and I'm sorry to hear that. If you do choose to give Generac another try, I hope it's better than your past experiences.
@@WBToolNews when the only place you can find within a 4 hour drive that can do authorized warranty for a product is northern tool, you know you have an issue. I'm also a dealer for Honda as well as Briggs and Stratton portable generators so I know a thing or two about warranty process, support and the equipment specs of each. My issue was getting the warranty process started required being bounced from Gardner-dixe, generac customer service and generac tech for over a week to get the problem addressed. Their first certified shop kept if over a month and never ordered the new inverter. I can tell he never ordered the inverter as we both use Dixie Gardner for parts and none were allocated to anyone in their territory, one is due in for their inverter early November. The other shops they recommended either didn't do warranty any longer or were out of business. I've owned generac generators personally for many years now and sold this one to a custom based on price point. I had never had a warranty issue before now. The gp3000i I have will run my marine ac 16000 BTU ac in eco mode plus tv, dvd player, box fan and battery chargers. The gp3300i will only run the ac if you turn off the eco mode and turn off everything else. I'm not impressed. My gp2300i would do that much and it wasn't 850 bucks. I'm not an angry consumer, I'm an angry dealer and service shop. Consumers deserve to know how a company handles warranties in dealer dead zones considering that most buyers will be getting these online. For me to have done the warranty for the customer generac would require me to purchase a 750 dollar tool kit, for the first and likely last warranty I'd ever see. The inverter has a dealer cost of about 450.
Also I promised Megen from generac customer service that I would make sure, as a dealer, to let everyone know the lack of service they have given myself and my customer over this generator, especially after all the destruction this past hurricane did to Florida and was predicted to hit our state next. This generator didn't put out proper power from the moment it came out of the box in early July. It's inexcusable that here it is October and my customer still can't run anything bigger than a microwave or coffee maker on a 3300 watt generator.
I offered to install the inverter free of labor charges if they would just have Dixie Gardner ship me the part (I am an authorized parts dealer). Northern tool wants a 40 dollar deposit to check it out for him to verify the issue, sadly as a dealer of other items that northern sells, I know first hand the incompetence of their service department.
@@dohcdelsol93 Dang. Where are you? This sounds like a string of really unfortunate events. I'd be happy to try and help by putting you in touch with our contact. I'm sure they'd like to try and help you. What's your dealership called?
